Finally someone said it, I did and worked for a frame and alignment shops including bodyshops as a frame/alignment tech. And he's right about the red and green most working the machines don't understand about radial pull or caster pull. ❤
If I may suggest if you have 160 to spare, take your ecu out and send it off to ecu exchange and have them overhaul/rebuild it so you know it’s freshened up and good to go. Reason I say this is because that was my problem with low idle surging problem. When I got my computer back the car ran so much better, more smoother. It’s never ran so good. It’s well worth the money imo, these cars and the efi system is over 30 years old and computer parts aren’t made to last forever especially in the elements.
Hey man, not sure if you mentioned it or figured it out by now but you need to make sure the maf is calibrated for the 19lb injectors... if not it will definitely have problems idling. Good luck and keep at it.
Glad you found out about those plates. I was considering the Amazon ones. Also, I got some blue 24 lbs injectors I'm not using for my build. I've upgraded to fuel injector clinic 50 lbs. If you're interested I'll sell them cheap.
Just bought a set of camber plates for my 96. Drives horrible after lowering springs. When I get on the freeway with the grooved concrete it pulls me all over the place. Need to get them put on soon. Thanks Art.
Back in the day you used to be able to "clock" the maf too to help with idle surge. There also used to be an idle plate you could put in between the iacv and throttle body. I sure dont miss these issues lol
Another great video. Funny enough im doing my caster camber plates this weekend, along with new spindles and coilovers ect. This was just the alignment crash course I needed to get me in the ballpark for a test drive.
They make relays with a time delay so you wont pull all those amps when starting a warmed up car. Saw them installed on another channel for an electric steering pump install.
For injectors I went with accel 24lb, had to change whole nine yards - bbk 75mm throttle body , pro-m 75mm MAF , mine is fully built heads, cam, systemax, it's very fast but drivability like it was when it was stock? Is over! You loose that seamless easy nice driving nice running fox, trouble starts as soon as you change that cam
Dude spot on had to re do my whole top end just so when I start the car it sounds like dog shit car won’t idle right even after timing and redoing fuel injection o ring kit new throttle body. These cars can drive you crazy.
Hey man love the videos. I learned some stuff on the alignment to help my car. Thank you. I was just wondering your check engine light is on have you check codes? Some times the computer can fry the capacitors and it will drive but it's in limp mode. If you run diagnostics and the computer will not give you codes that's a fryed computer they sell a capacitors kit online to fix this. Hope this helps. I love the content and your sense of humor is killer. Keep up the videos dude.
May need to unhook the battery for a while each time you make changes like to that TPS, not 100 % sure but worth a try, I suspected I had a leak and hooked up a smoke machine and smoke actually came out of the top of my TPS that came with a hole in the top, came new already attached to the bbk 75mm throttle body so I put the old TPS back on that didn't have a hole through the top and set mine at .96 and it did better but I think it's different for each setup
Great video Art do you like those skinny tires in the front? lol might be better for you to have something a bit wider? I had a 351 block and I used to turn it over once and a while to keep the cylinders lubricated I was turning it over one day fast like and my thumb nail caught the edge of the oil pan and ripped my nail clean off talk about pain it sounded like a suction from a vacuum my daughter seen the whole thing 🤣😰
I like the look of the skinnies for sure, but yes they do contribute to the wandering haha. Holy hell that would suck! RIP to your fingernail and the years of therapy down the road for your daughter 😂
I have the same radiator in mine and I couldn't get the shroud to fit it so I couldn't mount the overflow either, I'll never buy SVE again, they shipped a radiator for an automatic, I have a 5 speed
I've seen guys hang on the front of a vehicle just to get it in the green zone. If it's pulling when it comes in they just dona toe and go. Lots of janky shops out there.
@VeteranIdiot love the the vid's and the build btw. I don't want to seem like a troll! I did a very similar build years and years ago except with gt40p head and it ran amazing. It ended up running in the low 12s@113mph
get car up to operating temp shut car off, disconnect iac start car, get it to idle with the screw make sure your tps is close to .96-.98 volts at idle get it within that range, if it was way off you may need to re-adjust the screw to get idle back where you want it shut car off, disconnect battery for 15 min reconnect iac, reconnect ground, start car idle=profit

The cheapness in me is strong and I can"t count how many times it has come back to bite me. Scrappy's getting there, really enjoying the videos on it.
Haha it's Russian roulette with cheap parts

I absolutely enjoy your videos on the scrappy build thank you. Please keep on sharing
Thank you! 🤙🤙
True comments about "alignment techs" Toe and go types. And in fairness, $99.95 isn't gonna get you much more than a Toe Adjustment most places.
Valid

Nice! I'll keep it in mind!
You need those
Came for this build, subbed for life! Keep it up Art!
Thank you! 🤙

Haha, they'll help for sure
Great video..my 93 lx coupe ran its best n strongest with tps set at .87 all these cars have to be adjusted to what that Particular car wants .
111 degreees! Damn and here i was complaining about 100 in my garage! Great video man!
😂 thanks 🤙
Back in the day you used to be able to "clock" the maf too to help with idle surge. There also used to be an idle plate you could put in between the iacv and throttle body. I sure dont miss these issues lol
😂😂 I'll have to look into both
You can buy helper bags for the rear springs. They kept me straight spinning at 50-60mph
Another great video. Funny enough im doing my caster camber plates this weekend, along with new spindles and coilovers ect. This was just the alignment crash course I needed to get me in the ballpark for a test drive.
Hell yeah, simple enough!
You’ll be very happy with those injectors man, excellent work on your build! Keep up the great work!
Thank you! 🤙
You’re welcome bro!
Great show!!!! Those are definitely struts. Looking forward to the next one.
Haha thank you!
Lots of good info in this video! I did a string alignment on my 85 vert.
They make relays with a time delay so you wont pull all those amps when starting a warmed up car. Saw them installed on another channel for an electric steering pump install.
Nice! I have seen those before but completely forgot about them.

Haha I figured, but I didn't think a b-cam was out of the realm of adjustability

I’m not sure but maybe some valve spring shims might fix that play in those bearings on those plates.
Not a bad idear

Good idea
I once did the toe on 2 pieces of cardboard under the tires.helped the tire slide
Nice! I used to have alignment plates for the race car
Auto Resto Mod has a good video on doing your own front end alignment, check it out.

SVE and Team Z caster camber plates are $150
Summer? Last night it snowed in the mountains about 150 miles away.
Haha, it's a whole different animal up on the rim
@@VeteranRevivals I can't imagine living down in the HOT valley anymore.

😞
Get the maximum motorsports camber caster plates. $229 and worth it
I've seen guys hang on the front of a vehicle just to get it in the green zone. If it's pulling when it comes in they just dona toe and go. Lots of janky shops out there.
Been thinking about getting a set off ebay for my 90 gt
Haha, if you're talking about the caster/camber plates, you might want to reconsider
@@VeteranRevivals yeah lol after watching the video I have
Get some clamps on that coupler pre maf.
Stop noticing that 😂
@@VeteranRevivals lol

Nice! I would be ecstatic if this car ran that
May be a bad IAC; Try removing IAC & clean the port with cleaner.
Unfortunately, it's brand new
have you done a base idle reset yet?
🤔 I'm listening
get car up to operating temp
shut car off, disconnect iac
start car, get it to idle with the screw
make sure your tps is close to .96-.98 volts at idle
get it within that range, if it was way off you may need to re-adjust the screw to get idle back where you want it
shut car off, disconnect battery for 15 min
reconnect iac, reconnect ground, start car
idle=profit
Well.... I'll be trying that later for sure
