First saw him in 1983 in Oak Hill, Texas and knew right there that he had “it.” I put my George Strait mix on everytime I take a West Texas road trip down those 2 lane highways and small towns. Excellent.

23 years ago my wife, Sandra Harkleroad, played this song for me just as we were getting started. Love is what we found and it was so great. Married in 1997 and it was the greatest life had ever been until January 20, 2017 when God took her home and life has been such a struggle ever since.
My heart aches for you. I hope life has treated you well since her passing. When going through the storm, the other side is sunny. I'll be a stranger here if you ever wanna talk about it.

When George did last tour he came to AT&T Stadium and packed the place. Every female forgets what guy brought her when George takes the stage. We love you King George!!!!!!
He packed that stadium and it seats 100,000. It was so loud from screaming fans it was ridiculous! His Last Rodeo tour started in Dallas at Cowboys new stadium. He brought a lot of stars with him. It was fun but sad at same time.I don't know if Texas loves George or the Cowboys the most. We are proud of King George and his career . We love you George!!!!

George Strait and the Ace in the Hole band . Pure County Music . I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert 3 times before he road off into the sun set. His last song he would sing to end each concert : This is where the Cowboy rides Away . Oh yeah .

Sure, this might not have been the first great country song I've had the pleasure of listening too, which got me hooked to the genre and made me a standout among my peers (who at the time were all listening to either metal, grunge, rap, or R&B)..........(that distinction goes to two fine ladies.... Shania Twain and Deana Carter)...... but even after all this time, since aaaaaℓℓℓℓℓℓℓLLLLLLL the way back in 1996, this is STILL my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE country song.
