How do you sort/store your copper pennies? Do you just throw them all together in a bucket/jar or do you go a little more elaborate? I store/sort mine based on weight/composition & portrait and I roll them up and put them in penny boxes.
Great question! For all the circultated stuff, I roll everything up by year for 1937-1964. Copper 1965-1996 is all together in several buckets. Anything BU I roll up separately for all years.
Way to go! That 2006 is an awesome find. I haven't found one yet...I've found 2 1985 PT5 pennies...one in a coin roll and one metal detecting. Thanks for the new video!
WOW! Congrats on the 2006 magnetic NO LOGO penny! I'm still looking for one here in the states. I live in Vermont about 5 miles from the Canadian border about an hour from Montreal so I'm still holding out hope to find one! That one and the Very Rare 2006 P non magnetic one too! Beautiful condition! and an extra $4.50 to boot! That will help with the gas cost a little bit! GREAT HUNT!
I'm sure Lighthouse will be releasing updated pages with more current dates on them. I'll try and see if any of my contacts at Lighthouse know when that will be happening!
Amazing you found another of the 2006's! Also, I ordered the Charlton Standard Catalogue CANADIAN COINS Volume 1, Ed 77. I think it just got released. Thank you for the discount code, appreciate it and your content.
Thanks! That's great - I didn't realize it was out already. I see they've labelled it 24-25. I wonder if they're going to only publish every two years...
You can't know what the banks have. They just have random, assorted rolled coins. Just start by asking to buy some rolls and then open them up and see what's inside. Good luck!
Congrats for your dime roll! That's crazy! Either the teller missed it and put it with the pennies, or the customer who brought it in missed it and sold it to the bank as pennies. Either way, we'll never know. The paper used appears to be "Generic" brown rolling paper the bank gave away sometimes in the 80s or 90s, good for all denominations. I still have some of these unused sheets... Of course, if you roll coins in this (or home made papers, loose leaves, etc...) you need to know what you have, to write it on, or at least tell the teller what it is. A few months ago, I helped a friend roll some coins (I went through them, of course, and found a silver dime, nickel nickels, and a few Canadian Flag color quarters I pulled aside) and we used white paper, but his bank refused them. I know why they accepted pennies, though, is that they don't pay more than 50 cents for it, so they can just make profit, but I'm glad you made that profit on the end, cool... Also, nice 2006 magnetic. I would guess it is strong XF, or AU. It's a very good coin, and I hope I have one in my $100 worth of pennies I want to go through at a later time. I was not able to get any more since... Anyways, nice hunt to watch, thanks.
Thanks Bruce! I heard a story from a dealer that someone found several rolls of them and sent them all into ICCS for grading at the same time. That sort of flooded the market and put downward pressure on the prices. I gather they're still scarce, but not the 222 that was originally thought.
And I also bought a Canadian coin lot off of eBay And also a bag of 100 Canadian pennies from 1953 to 2012 which is possibly good because I could get a lot of oldies
@@CADRollHunter but it takes a long time because I had to get a shipping thing for it to come shorter because it would have took 21 to 45 days for it to comes. So we had to buy shipping for $4.99 for an extended shipping instead of economy shipping
Everything's good. I've been very busy with my music lately, and haven't had the time to post daily. I'll still post shorts occasionally, and may post more frequently in stints, but needed to take a bit of a break from that just now! Thanks for asking!
The Charlton Guide used to say 222, but I heard a story that someone found an UNC roll (or two) of them and sent them all in to be graded at the same time. That left the community realizing there were certainly more than 222, and put a bit of downward pressure on the price from its all-time high. No doubt they're scarce, but now that I've found 2...
Great penny hunt and treasures. Extra bonus with the dimes! Do some experiments with Heinz tomato ketchup, rub on coin for 2-5 seconds and wash under running water... it can help remove fingerprints. if you overdo it the copper will turn pinkish.
@CADRollHunter if it is actual dirt on there some warm water might already have good effect, if it's corrosion I wouldn't know what to do. So that would be interesting for me to watch and learn 😉👍
What bank company do you usually get your pennies from? Did you ever encounter a bank that refused to cash them out? (I'm planning to get pennies sometime)
I deal with all of the banks in one way or another. It has more to do with the staff/manager at the specific branch than it does with the actual bank brand. I haven't had a bank refuse to accept coins from me. The only time that happened actually, was when I wasn't actually a customer at that bank!
Congrats on your second 2006 no p magnetic penny. Thats an awesome find
Thanks so much, Tom!!

Can you share anything about how you go about getting ahold of so many wrapped coins?
For sure - have a look at my "Coin Roll Hunting 101" video, where I discuss exactly that (and lots more, too). Thanks for watching!
Congrats on the awesome finds. Great hunt.
Thanks 👍You never know what you might find in those rolls!!
I've been searching for one of those rare 2006 pennies with no success. Congrats on your second find.
Keep looking - good luck!!
You did it again! Awesome find.
Thank you! Cheers!

I've got my Vista nature albums on order (with your coupon code). Do you know if there will be future releases beyond 2016 for the non-pennies?
I'm sure Lighthouse will be releasing updated pages with more current dates on them. I'll try and see if any of my contacts at Lighthouse know when that will be happening!
Lightning strikes again! Another Unicorn! Incredible, James! And the dimes, you can almost quit your day job, James! LOL
I figure a couple more surprise dime rolls, and I can give my notice. Not sure what my wife would say about that, though... ;)

I really want to start coin roll hunting but I don’t know what banks will maybe have older coins. Can you please help me?

Thanks, as always, for watching. Good luck going through your stash of pennies. I'll bet you'll find several good ones in there! Have fun!
great hunt cant wait to visit the coin show at the end of this month
Have fun, cweed!!
Very cool that you found the 2006 magnetic in the zinc design. How cool is that?!? Prices sure came down for these since my 2006 Video.

nice coin hunting, inhave a 2006-p non magnetic and a 2005 p non magnetic 2003 p non-magnetic varuety. where can i sell them?
You can always try eBay.

Great hunt and nice dime pickup! Interesting to see what grade u get for your 2006
Thanks so much. I'l try to submit that coin as soon as I can to get it graded. I'll be sure to share the results here!
I've noticed you haven't posted any shorts in a long time. Is everything alright? Congrats on your find btw!

I've heard there are only a few hundred of those '06 no mint mark, magnetic pennies known to exist. Nice catch!

Thanks for the tip. Not sure I'm brave enough to try ketchup. At least not on a valuable coin. But maybe something I'd try for fun on another penny!
Congratulations on another great rare cent! And also a nice return on investment on those dimes indeed 😅
Did you end up cleaning that 1941?
Thanks, Alrik! I haven't done anything with the 1941 just yet, but it would be a great candidate to try something with...
@CADRollHunter if it is actual dirt on there some warm water might already have good effect, if it's corrosion I wouldn't know what to do. So that would be interesting for me to watch and learn 😉👍
Definitely some things to try!

Awesome find with that 2006!
Thanks, Emanuel!
Awesome hunt!!
Thanks!! Have a great day!
@@CADRollHunter Have a great day as well!!
nice!
Nice find on that 2006
Thanks so much - I appreciate you watching!
I live in Michigan so it's not that unusual to get Canadien coins in change. I recently got a 1952 - 2002 pennie with some mint lustre
Living close to the border does make pocket change much more interesting! Thanks so much for watching!
Wow you can still get Pennie’s from the bank ?
So far. I've been lucky, for sure!
I check all the 2006's I get with a magnet. So far, I haven't found any.
Keep your eyes peeled - they're obviously out there. I hope you're luck enough to find one (or two)!
The 1941 penny might be a metal detector find.
That's a definite possibility!
I have a 1963 Canadian penny
Very nice! An oldie for sure!
