On 27th April 2024, I trainspotted at Forest Gate.
Forest Gate station is in East London in the London Borough of Newham. There are a lot of trains at Forest Gate. Forest Gate station serves Elizabeth Line trains only. It is near Wanstead Park London Overground station. Manor Park station is next to Forest Gate towards the east and Maryland station is next to Forest Gate towards the west. This station isn’t too far from the very busy station, Stratford. Greater Anglia trains pass Forest Gate station. C2C also passes it on the Elizabeth Line platforms but C2C services here are limited services. C2C trains are usually here on Saturdays.
Forest Gate railway station has 4 platforms. Platforms 1 and 2 are the Elizabeth Line platforms. It can be chaotic with trains here. The platform layout is quite good. However, there is a fence that sorts of blocks the view of Greater Anglia trains from Platform 2 where I was recording. It wasn’t too bad though. The amount of trains is amazing.
I personally think that Forest Gate is a reasonable place to record trains. This is because the view of the trains is not perfect but it is not terrible. Plus, there is nothing really interesting or special about the station either. The frequency of the trains is excellent. It is decent overall. Please remember, this is my point of view.

Nice video Lorenzo. 66307 & 744 are on 4E39 to Wakefield Europort from Tilbury but good to catch 345055 the pride livery and few c2c trains. Forest Gate used to be my old home town when I was pretty young.
