Was waiting for this - and off the back of it am convinced I'll be replacing my long-loved Novablast 3's with the new 5's. Thanks for a cracking review gents
As always great review guys and always appreciate having the varying perspectives. Looking forward to g forward to this one since I got along well with the 4 and reached for it more than my SB2 “probably get some clack for saying that” and it seems some tweaks have made it better. That sweet spot cruising daily sounds great!
Are these good for treadmill stuff? I do some light jogging but also short sprints. Would these be suitable for that or would I be better with ones that have a plate?
Great review! They look like a nice update. I’d be keen to see how these would compare with (regards to softness & bounce/energy return) to the Adizero SL2 and also the Adizero EVO SL shoes
ASICS have really cemented themselves as a top brand again over the past couple of years but the 8mm drop is a deal-breaker for me. I need around 4-5mm for best results but this looks like another fantastic shoe if the specs work for you
I’ve been waiting for your review on NB5 and will wait for your follow up before I make my decision. I’m looking for a shoe for my long (15-20km) slower runs (6:00-6.15 min/km). Running on asphalt so need something protective and had the Nimbus 26. Even if was ok, i think it lacked something on the last 5 km. This might be the one. My only concern is that I will only run in daily trainers as the other two shoes in my rotation are SB1 and ES3.
@ it’s very tempting… I mean, I liked the speedboat, that said, it was like running through sand on the uphills. I want something good enough to see me through the winter but that has a little more firmness, but that said, not so much firmness that my ankles will balloon again!
Softer than the nb4 probably means a no from me, each to their own. That upper looks cheap and like it could easily be holed if it snagged on something sharp.
Hey guys, loving the reviews! As a fellow that has been running in Nimbus 5’s for a couple years, how would this shoe compare? I heard that the Nimbus 26 is much warmer than the 25, is this Novablast 5 a good replacement? I don’t have separate shoes for different kinds of runs, I average like 9 minute miles…..
Thanks for the initial reviews.😎 I have the 4s and like them, but overtime, they have become firmer. Looking forward to the 5s with a softer ride, but not in that disgusting colourway. 🤮 Will wait for better colourways.
Nice review, guess like a lot of shoes, it’s only ever going to be marginal improvements. P.S. Has Kieran’s Instagram handle been misspelt in the graphics?
Thank you for all the great reviews! Let me ask : Why can't we compare this shoe with shoes like BROOKS GHOAST MAX and GLYCERIN MAX ,NEW BALANCE MORE V5, PUMA MAG MAX NITRO ,ASICS NIMBUS 26 and other max stack shoes for easy/recovery runs? Ok NOVABLAST can also do tempo runs but does this mean necessarily that is not comparable with these shoes at easy runs?
Why would you compare the daily trainer NB5 to shoes in another category? Sry, but it looks like you just named some shoes which name just happened to come into mind. Why not also compare it to a ski boot? You know where i am getting at ;)

How dare you disrespect the GOAT like that?
I know , I know. I’ve been ostracized for that statement in the past!

Great review guys. Might pick these up despite already having too many shoes!
There’s not such thing as too many shoes. Go ahead!🎉

@@heymrguitarman7637 what drop do I want? I have a flatfoot and tend to be heel striking, lower drop?
I'd be curious to see a comparison with the Novablast 5 and the 1080 v14. Does Asics offer this shoe in a wider fit?
Good review , look forward to a pair. Big thing is will it be grippier in the wet during these winter months.

How does it compare to Evo sL?
Great comparison. Unfortunately i have two pairs of nb4s to use first.
How does the width feel? Another review I saw said it felt roomier? The NB4 are too narrow for me, how does it compare to say the Rebel V4 ?
How is the stability comparing to the 4?
curious how this compares with the saucony hurricane 24, another popular easy, daily trainer amongst y'all
Same thought
Hurricane 24 is a heavy stability shoe 😂
@@i.p2088yes it's heavier than nb 5 and the stability version of triumph 22. Comparison should be done between nb 5 and triumph 22.
Not sure this is comparison worthy.
@@i.p2088 wtf is the difference between a “stability” shoe and easy run, everyday run ?
Curious about how it compares to the glide ride max. Thanks for the video!
I liked version 1 the most. Is it similar? Thanks for the review guys!
Would be nice to see how this matches up to Hoka Skyflow and/or mach 6
Totally agree, mach 6 has been my one shoe option for all my training lately

NB5 v ride 17 would be an interesting comparison.
Curious how it compares against New Balance Balos and Saucony Speed 4? Looking forward to this comparison as I’m deciding which to go with, thanks.
Thank you very much for the video. Could be interesting to benchmark it versus Superblast 2 considering price and availability 😅
Great review! That colour is absolutely horrendous!
Worth the money for upgrade from the previous version?
No
Is the Novablast 5 suitable for half marathons and up tempo (4.45km/min pace) runs?
Thank you for the review. I am undecided between mizuno neo vista and novablast 5. Can I get your opinion?
Softer than the nb4 probably means a no from me, each to their own. That upper looks cheap and like it could easily be holed if it snagged on something sharp.
No for me too, nb3 were mushy and died after 200km
do you guys think I could run a marathon (slow pace) in the novablast 5?

So the upper feels more restrictive than the 4? Every other review I've seen says the opposite - that it's got more room than the 4.
They really stitched you up sending that colour way 😂
That’s the launch color way. No choice.
Each to their own, I like the colourway!
Waiting for evo sl review!

Wish they had the neon green again
novablast was too chunky for me, hopefully the ride 18 suits me better
Perhaps Father Christmas could get Kieran a microphone for Christmas?
Guess it’s time to replace my OG Novablasts
Nice review, guess like a lot of shoes, it’s only ever going to be marginal improvements.

What is it with all these size 8 feet guys! Recruit a size 10 runner... please!! ;)
Tom, you said the 5s are softer and bouncier 3 times. 😂😭
