You could get the red one. The paint is probably better on the red one since red is a darker color on top of a black base.
I went to kinokuniya yesterday, looking around the model kits and such as usual, and I found a similar mode car called in bold letters the “the Snap kit” Aoshima 1/32 Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno Car. It’s looks easy no glue or paint, only nippers you need, I instantly thought of this video you made, I bought it, the only difference I see are the wheel rims. I enjoy your content, keep ‘‘em coming 👍.

for me pre painted are good when u don't have the tool or equipment to paint, it is good for beginners tho for hobby
You should buy Tamiya Nissan 180sx and Tamiya Nissan Silvia13 and try build blue Mako's Nissan Sileighty. That would be amazing.
I have this exact model it’s lovely. The interior is raised because It’s a semi-reproduction of the Carrera Initial D slot car as mechanical and power components were supposed to be underneath like you said, or at least that’s what I think since the Carrera slot cars look suspiciously like the new Platz/mono ones.
That’s what I thought when I saw the chassis. And thank you for the info about Carrera Initial D slot car. That would explain the design.👍

What kind of paints do you recommend to use with an airbrush machine?
If you are building military models, you can use water based acrylic paint.(can be thinned with water and IPA) But I mostly use lacquer based paint since cars require glossy finishes/and polishing. For model cars lacquer paint is recommended.
