    Hi Cat ! I've finally made it to the intermediate classes and have just completed class A module A . I found the new poses challenging but because I have worked through all of your beginners courses I know that every time I come to the mat I will achieve just a little bit more and will eventually achieve the full pose so it hasn't put me off . Also I am very grateful that you have given an alternative to the inverted pose as it means I don't have to cut my lesson short or stop to fast forward as I can stay in that pose until you come out of the inversions - happy days :)
    Thank you as always for your generosity , you have a beautiful heart and I'm looking forward to yet another wonderful journey xx

      Hello dear Sallie!! Wonderful to get your message and to see you at the beginning of the next journey. I'm honoured to be here with you and as always really welcome any questions /issues that may arise as you progress. I just want to be sure that you understood that it's an A, B, C, D practice sequence, as a few people got confused about this. This ensures that every practice works a little bit of something new. And just remember that you can always print the sequence out and follow that if you're short on time and/or you get dulled out by me! Soon the challenges will flow with grace and the psycho-physical body becoming stronger, sharper and more compact than you thought possible. Still to this day I am in awe at what a beautiful wise system Yoga is for all ages. Being over 50 the 'vehicle' becomes more valued. Wanting to keep it well-tuned and functioning pain free. I feel grateful to have a firm nourishing practice 'in place' and so happy to pass it on. Keep up the great work!! Love & Light always, X Cat
      PS - There will be more mental challenges in this Module than the last so stay alert to that and move past the mind when it resists. 🌸

    After practicing Beginners module A & B several times each class with as much focus and dedication as possible for the beginner i still am, it is Intermediate module A now. Your talent for teaching in a progressive but discipline way brought me up to no only enjoy reaching The intermediate level, but also believing i can follow the rhythm which is a very nice and deep feeling. Thank you for that Catherine !!

    Just finished Intermediate class module A for the 2nd time after sliding in a few lower back classes as facing some issues there, and my first realization is that it was a great strong class and also that it is definitely necessary not to leave to much time before repracticing the Intermediate level as you can end up losing the strength for that level and the rhythm obviously. So disciplined and dedication is required. Namaste Catherine 🌼

      An insightful insight! The discipline and dedication factor... these are the hardest things to establish. But you've done amazingly well - from pure beginner with sore body - making your way through Beg Module A & B!!!! It's really brilliant! 👏 ⭐️ 👏 💛 👏 X C.

    Thank you so much for this! I'm so grateful! The more I practice with you, the better I realize how your sessions are reflexive/thoughtful/well thought (? - sorry, my english is poor, I don't know wich word is the most accurate), developed according to the level of practitioners for whom they are intended. Totally agree. Cat’s practices are the only ones I do now. Changed my body and how I feel in my body so much and as a result also my mental state. Couldn’t be more grateful. No more lower back ache, improved posture, more strength in muscles etc etc - but overall just a sense of ease and flow - almost seems that the practice so streamlines the body that all that previously would have been stuck, now just flows with ease. Could truly not be more grateful for opening my eyes to Iyengar!

    • @YogawithCat
      @YogawithCat  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Good Morning dearest Rob!
      So - if you are practicing 7 times a week do A, B, C, D, C
      and then 2 other practices of your choice - 1 of which should be more restorative.
      The idea being that the Training is the the Structure - and your other explorations add juice, spice, subtlety, insight to this.
      Be warned - there will be periods of 'boredom' where you long to do a plethora of different classes - seeking newness etc. Very normal. But. Keep coming back to the Modules. Penetrating more deeply.
      By the end of the Training (appx. 12 months) you will truly understand why.
      The rhythm of the Training settling so deeply into your beingness - a portal into new strength, steadiness, knowledge and freedom. 💖

    Your classes have been a lifesaver during this pandemic. However ,as 2 almost 80-year-olds, we do not attempt the shoulder or headstands!
    I have also had 2 knee replacements and use a chair for some of the kneeling poses. Any suggestions for age-related modifications would be welcome

    • @YogawithCat
      @YogawithCat  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning dear Lesley! ☀️ It is so wonderful to meet you here and - as corny as it may sound - my life is richer knowing that both of you 'almost 80 year olds' are following this course 💛
      So from now on, (when I film the next modules to be released early Jan) I'll be sure to include modifications with you in mind!
      Also - might I suggest that you both invest in a Yoga Chair? So many wonderful modifications and support to be had from this most amazing of tools. Backbends, beautiful gentle Shoulderstands - the list is long. If you do get one let me know and then I'll film some special classes which will help you both safely access poses that feel inaccessible. I think you'll be beautifully surprised! 🦋
      The added benefit being that you'll then also know how to adapt all practices for your individual needs. Truly making the practice 'yours'.
      It would really be an honour to help. My mother is also almost 80 and she also practices and says it makes an enormous difference in her 'vehicle'.
      Thanks for connecting. X Cat 🙏🏼💫

    Hi - was wondering if I may ask a question - I have been looking for a 100 percent non slip yoga mat that is perhaps a little bit thicker and protects knees. I seem to have a really tough time finding one that doesn’t slip! Am now on my third mat I ordered/bought; they tend to stay in place during warrior poses etc but I always find myself sliding forward during downward dog!
    P.s: Love your practices so much! Changed my life, truly!

    • @YogawithCat
      @YogawithCat  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Michaela! So happy to hear from you. As for non-slip mats I would suggest Manduka products which have served me well in the past. Although nothing beats the sticky mats that were made 30 years ago! I still have 2 and they're tattered but precious. My Velveteen Rabbits... ❣

Amazing! ❤️🙏🏻🥰However I am yet to master Ardha Chaturanga.. no strength in the arms!! 😰(jelly..) they will not support my trunk off the ground..😒..looking at the list of asanas above I'm not clear - where do the sun salutations come in? and when will B C and D be posted? confused.. 😳You are and amazing teacher. The Sun Salutations (which are broken down and interspersed with lunges) are what is called RESET. In this practice there are 2 of them. On days when one is tired one can choose to skip them.
      As for the rest of the practices -B comes out tomorrow, C on Wed and D on Thursday. Busy week!

    .i have been practicing for many years but felt myself growing and improving ever since i found you. feel so blessed. have three questions
    1.... in yogamudrasana grounding hips and forwarding hands dont go togather.
    2.....in sarvangasana is the weight on arms ,head or both.
    3....i find it difficult to relax fully in shavasana.is it ok or i am doing it wrong
    sorry for troubling you

    • @YogawithCat
      @YogawithCat  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good Morning Neema! How wonderful that you are joining the training!!! The instructions on how to practice are all written below the video itself. When you have a chance take a moment to read it and then if there are still questions let me know. As for your specific queries
      1 - the grounding of hips and yogamudrasana forward action will come with time.
      2 - in Sarvangasana the weight is on the arms. Think of the arms as the base of the triangle and try to keep presence in the elbows which often get light.
      3 - In Savasana - relaxing is harder than we think! I'm sure there is nothing that you are doing 'wrong' (unless you have pain). It is just a question of doing more of it. Until all of the clutter that keeps you from letting go is cleansed.
      Hope that this helps and don't hesitate to ask more.
      With love always, X Cat 💜
