Already have three seiko's in my collection. A field master ( regulated by grand seiko studio in Japan ) and two baby tuna's. Will soon be getting a Willard. Seiko's are just unbeatable and iconic.
The red king seiko is amazing, I thought it was too expensive, I thought it's wasn't the best value. But I saw it in person and my God is it stunning, the finishing is almost grand seiko and the bracelet and size is great, I own a grand seiko and still I find merit to this king seiko. For those wanting grand seiko on a budget, or if you want that vintage feel with a classy no date watch this is a great option. Also the bracelet is miles better than all lower end grand seikos.
I have several Seikos, an SKX, two original 5's, two chronographs, one vintage King Seiko and a vintage King Quartz. I've noticed that I'm not interested in modern Seikos anymore but the vintage ones? I'm completely in love with those. Also, some of the more recent Grand Seiko models with champagne dials.
Im a Seiko lover, i have plenty but never looked into king seiko before, and for the past few weeks they have been growing on me
Some of Seiko's new SPB line are superb and they're knocking it outta park. The heritage turtle is one such watch, it is so so nice, the other is the new slim 62MAS, it is just stunning. I'm hoping Seiko will bring out a more affordable SPB version of it in the near future

AR46 could do with smaller chrono pushers I think. If it’s to be a watch that’s worn away from the track then it could be prone to getting damaged. The watch looks really nice.
I'm glad the normies still only care about rolex's and look down on Seiko's. It's like a watch enthusiasts hidden gem.

Having limited edition, Seiko Captain Ward with the Grand seiko automatic movement. I'm very 5:51 happy with it
If I could I would have gone with Grand Seiko GMT, the latest one, it is awesome one.
King Seiko has some new models in the works using the 6L35 movement. They cost slightly more than the 2021 limited edition models, but they are thinner. I have the SJE083, and the movement in it ran +15 a day until recently. Now, it feels like a chronometer. I think if KS keeps using the 6L henceforth, they can establish themselves in the place GS was before.
At that price not getting a chronometer is insulting, especially since its the alleged Japanese value brand
@davidf3974 I don't know about that. The finish is on par with GS, but the movement is thinner. If I'm not mistaken, thin, 8-beat movements tend to be expensive, right? Even without chronometer certification?
I am sure to buy a well designed Grand Seiko with perpetual day date calendar. It should have designs taking the best looks from rolex, rado and omega.

It's such a shame they don't used the good movement like the 4S line in the modern watches or the 56 and 52 as these can get up to a chrono certification standard.

I had 3 Seiko Watch, 1 Baby Tuna Yellow fin, 1 Monster Antarctica (Special Edition) and 1 Seko 5 Orange Dial...... Not sure what Seiko watch next on my list
this are my current budget but good sets that anybody can consider.
1. SKX007- 7s26
2. Sumo Hulk-6R35- huge size dial but fits on the small hands depends on personal preference.
3. King samurai -4R35 - Looks great but not really a good watch for it feels chunky on small wrist. Strap change will make it have a great fit as stock metal links makes it look bulkier than it feels.
4. Urban safari Street series tuna- 4R36 - perfect outdoor small wrist. great to highlight collections as most nice dials are either black, dark blue and shades of green.
5. King Turtle Dark Manta- 4R36 - Save the Ocean Special Edition- best feeling small or big wrist alike
6. Antarctica Penguin Monster 4R36 - Save the Ocean Special Edition- perfect size for small wrist
Despite being affordable these are all from ProspeX line up excluding the SKX but is also ISO certified diver's which is iconic and can be used as dressKX with just change of straps as all 5 on these lists. Bryan Mayer red dial Seiko 5 is great but very pricey for its specs. SSK00* GMT's comes as a surprise for me as well very good for price.
If you want higher tier, go with the SLA , Captain Willard and Marine Master or even Grand Seiko.
if you want to collect diver's skip orient and go straight to , SKX, Prospex, PADI, Marine Master and SLA series.
If you are not sure and want a feel of diver's watch. Ali express offers discounted homages of mostly iconic watches. Steel Dive Captain Willard which looks exactly like a seiko turtle is a great test buy. There are better line from SAN MARTIN and other brands in Ali express but there prices tend to be creeping lately. After owning the fake turtle and these homages from Ali express , I can say that they are somewhat on par with quality with fraction of the price and at times offer higher specs with fraction of the price while using legit NH3* which is also same as Seiko's 4R3*, I know that I need to own one as it is the best feeling case among the watches I have. Samurai, Tuna, Sumo, SKX, Monster and an Orient Kamasu.

Seiko srpj45 is the best amongst all the Seiko 5 series watches.

SPB and even more so, SLA series are far from inexpensive, they are really beautiful.

If they had put a better movement in the King; I would have snapped it up a year ago. The new KS has a better movement BUT they added the *@%#+& date AND jumped the price to $3600. At that price, you can get a used Tudor or even Omega. Hard pass.
I think for that movement, $2500 or $3000 would be better. The limited edition, WITH THE SAME MOVEMENT, was $3300. Why the jump? Was the case hand-made?

Other than the power reserve, the 6r movement is truly a downgrade. The movement architecture is really old, and it suffers from extreme positional variance issues. Even if you can get it to within 15 seconds dial up, good luck getting within 15 seconds while wearing it. Garbage.
I’ve owned two watches with a 6Rxx movement. Sold one and still have one. Both have been within 1-2sec per day. Either I’ve been lucky with mine or we only hear mostly of the bad experiences online.
Disagree I have the 6R35 and I am at within 1-2 secs per day. Amazing movment.
@@jk-cw8ix consider yourself lucky. I have 4 and one is awesome like yours. The other three are like I describe.
@@DavidRon Can't it be regulated to 1-2s/day?
@@noneedtoknowmyname2855 it can be regulated to that degree when worn in a specific way, but if you wear it differently, it can deviate as much as 20s in a day. I don't think it can be adjusted accurately to more than 2 positions.
