- She is a TANK..These new versions that just came out in the U.S recently are just better than the stuff that came out months ago overseas IMO ..HPI listens and upgraded things quickly..The upgraded composite was a big factor to keeping this thing in one piece..Enjoy the jumps(mostly crashes) lol..God Bless!!

Good to see the updated parts like A arms & axles that Maverick fitted are holding up well now.
Heck yea..I think the shock towers are the new composite also
@@philthyco1 They also list upgraded HD shock shafts are available to fit if you bend the stock shock shafts. Same diameter shafts but stronger/ tougher steel, as the shock shafts used to bend when an A arm was broken on the small Quantum truck. Hopefully that wont happen as much with the new stronger A arms being used.
@@gillian9178 I wonder if this has the HD shock shafts? Time will tell I guess lol..i have the smaller one on order also..I'd like to see if it too comes with some upgrades
@@philthyco1 I understand Maverick are now only making the new type A arms, but it all depends when the trucks that the stores or suppliers got there trucks in. There's probably a few around still that have the old arms fitted, especially the earlier smaller Quantums. When I got my Quantum Plus here in the UK a few weeks back it came with the old A arms fitted on the truck, they also included in the box a set of 4 new type upraded arms for the customer to fit themselves. Clearly certain batches of trucks had been assembled at the factory before they had supplies of the new arms, so they simply added a set of arms to the boxes. I know a number of other customers also had this on there Quantum Plus Trucks.
@@gillian9178 Did yours come with the HD axels? I think the ones in the U.S have the upgrades fitted from factory..We shall see in a few days when mine gets here..UK and AUS had these last year and we just got them here recently

I'm watching these in reverse lol. Gonna watch the first run after this. Looks really good. Boy you couldn't have moved to a more different yard then your last one!! But just remember that's gonna take up 50% of your free summer time lol. That's like how I mow the lots around my house. You definitely need to get a nice riding mower. Might be worth the investment for a nice zero turn. It will pay off in the end. I love the summer but fall and spring is so nice cause no long grass lol

Actually guys you better change the wheels as they're really to heavy for that rc.. I guess they put those on to keep the car close to the ground while it jumps.. But I put crawlers wheels, same height but thiner..
And it's now a different way of controlling it but MUCH MORE powerful 👌

@@philthyco1 hi.. Yes you should, those are not the right one (to me) try some crawlers or road tires and it will grip the ground more as it should..
Those heavy wheels was ennoying me as I like the car to respond fast when it turn etc..

I don't think boiling that wing will help! 😂 it would just melt! Funny I was looking at it thinking well it does have nice tires and it looks good and you went on to say the tires were pretty good better than the big rock. I think all the competition is great and in the next few years most RC's are going to be pretty damn tough. Also, people are obsessed with power and they'll run the Kaiju all day everyday on 6s and keep the brakes too high. I do neither and get a lot more longevity out of my differentials and Plastics. Landing on all four helps as well 😂
I agree 4s is plenty and turn those brakes down! Lol..Yup Maverick has a line of tires called Tredz they are pretty good and look great..Lol.. I put that polycarbonate wing on ..Bend but not break lol..Just needed to mount it better lol
@@philthyco1 👊 yeah you don't always need to get aftermarket wheels and tires. For example I LOVE the Buggy and Truggy Arrma Katar's. And Redcat has great tires as well as the old Losi Tenacity MT tires. I actually run the DHK Maximus wheels on my Kaiju. Way lighter!

Hi guys, great video as always. Just bought some Metsafil lower arms, has anybody else bought any? I was wondering what you're thoughts on them were. My first impressions arent good as they weigh an absolute tonne and are extra weak right where the pin goes in, Well made bombroof part but very expensive, heavy and I think will break in exactly the same way as normal stock arms, time will tell lets see.
I saw them.. look beefy.. I just run the stock HD arms.. cracked one a while ago at the hing pin but it held up another 4-5 runs still lol
How your center diff holding up. I like the growl but makes me nervous. Replaced mine and the center shaft already. After repairing...14t pinion and 46t upgrade or is it.

My big rock was solid for 3 months . But lately I can’t keep the slipper tight to save my life. The thought of the center diff has me thinking
For now upgrade to the 4s slipper and spur..I'm bringing out the big rock in stock form today to see how she does out here..I will say this..I already know she will get debris in the steering a time or two lol..No biggie though
@@philthyco1 I hear you. I already upgraded the spur to the steel one and changed out output shaft to the HD version but didn’t put revised plastic retainer in. I have the 4s outcast with a 6s system in it. Used to shred axles. Upgraded all axles to alum/metal. Now it eats plastic diff gears. So, put in HR aluminum diff case. Will see if that works
@@norcalrc If its eating the ring gear it could also be a slightly bent motor plate..hope the HR ring gear fixes the issue..It should but look into the M2c motor mount also..With all that power you might need it

Hey man, great running video! Have you been driving it a lot and Is it still holding up now? The thing I'm worried most about is excessive drivetrain wear/diff breaking issues..
It has three diffs and they are built well..No diff issues..Only body and wing issues..I've seen people bend the center shafts tho but I haven't..The new hd axels and arms are holding up well
@@philthyco1 that's good then. by the way, is it just me having diff issues with the 6s kraton? I kinda want to sell mine for that reason
@@ValFPV I don't have one but big 6s rigs seem to need diff maintenance more often..Have you looked into some upgraded diff gears and housing
@@philthyco1 hmm where to get the upgraded diff gears from? Didn't know they existed! The most annoying thing is the large gears on the outside of the diff breaking, they're expensive and seem to break the most.

I thought hpi went out of business. did somebody buy them out or something? Nice rip man! Gotta love those easy rc days! If you give me measurements for the foam pads you are using for thw wing I could print you some out of TPU, way stronger and flexible.

All in all do you thing this is a durable car?should i go for the arrma rock or this?i like the shape a lot .but i have concerns about durability
Any rc car will break..It's a myth that there are rc cars out there that won't break ..Pick whatever one you like the looks of better..This one has a thin body shell tape up the inside and it's fine and the stock wing won't take many bad landings on it..Big Rock gets stones and sticks stuck in the steering often it's kinda annoying..Both are very good though

@@RACEABLE Cheetah is faster out the box.. This is probably a bit better quality build though and easier to get parts if you live in US
