All the japanese manufactures are missing out. Any time we put out brand new YZ125's and YZ250's or we get any 2 stroke KTMs on trade or consignment they usually sell within a few hours of putting them out on the showroom. In fact the longest I've ever seen a new straight out the crate 2 stroke Yamaha sit on the showroom was 10 days. And that's because the guy bought it sight unseen over the phone and couldn't make it back from an overseas business trip till the next week. 2 strokes sell as soon as we get them.

Weedge interviewed Bill Savino at Honda about product planning for RacerX and he said for Honda to bring the 2 stroke back and sell 200-300 units a year doesn't make sense. I suspect they would sell a lot more. I would guess Honda couldn't be bothered spending the money. think I read in MXA that KTM 2 strokes outsell their 4 strokes. How many CRF150R's do you see at the races compared to KTM minis? Those Kawi minis are gorgeous bikes. If they made big bike 2 strokes that looked like that they would sell a shit ton. If you build it, they will come.
This is their first year in a while of making a 2 stroke. Definitely just testing the water right now, but I can bet that in the next year or 2 there will be bigger bikes in 2 stroke form
We just picked one up for my kid who is 5’2” and 102lbs and haven’t noticed much dive in the front end . He says his 85 with pipe and reeds comes on harder than the 112 but out the back door he says once he is on the pipe in 4th it’s stupid fast. One thing we have done to combat bog in corners was add a 51 rear sprocket instead of a stock 50 .
I got one and im about the same height and weight. the dive might just be for heavier riders, I always stay on the gas in corners as much as I can anyway.
Perty common full grown men riding the KX in Japan. The 112 makes it easier to pull them around good move for Kawi. Price is reasonable for one as well making it easier on dad’s pocket.
We ordered our 11 year old boy, a new 2022 KX85 in the begining of November, and it still has not shown up, were from the North East, and the dealer says its still on a ship off the coast of Commiefornia, but we cant believe how good he did last year/ his first year in Motocross, and he loves it so much!, were so PROUD of him! he has an original 2009 "Monster Edition KX65" not just Monster graphics on it, people always come up to us and say they would not be racing this bike because its rare, but she's a BEATS! we bought it with only 24 hours on her, and we went to 134 hours on the all stock bike that was 12 years old, and he kicked A$$ all year long on her, then at 134 hours i rebuilt her with a Wrench Rabbit rebuild kit, and now were at 184 hours but hes moving to 85 this year though he may race both the 65 class and 85 class, but i am keeping this bike forever for him, so when hes older, where ever his passion of Motocross brings him, he will always have his first bike that started it all for him, and he can display it with all of his race trophies for each weekend, and his 4 championship trophies, he won in his very first year of Motocross this last season.

LOL Read comment below from me, We went 134 hours racing with his 2009 Monster Edition KX65, when we rebuilt it at 134 hours, from the case, to the cylinder/ Head, everything was shiny and clean as a whistle, it is now at 184 hours, and shes still running good, but i should rebuild her rite now just in case he decides to run both the 85 and 65 classes
@arnoldpalmer9897 That's a heck of a deal! Two years ago when the KX112's came out, they were marking them up. The dealership was a loan Kawasaki dealership. No other brands in the store. The guy tells me that he had an out of state race team buying the first four of them that they had coming in. So he says why would he sell the bike at a discount when others are buying the bike at the price they were asking? So I said "I understand that. But I have my priorities and you have yours. But I'm not letting anyone rip me off. It's just a motorcycle". I walked out after that and bought something else for a lot less.
Everyone saying they need more big two strokes again needs to stop you are all to young to remember when the EPA was coming after MX so hard and going away from 2 strokes saved the sport. The Japanese brands will not invest time and money in bikes that may potentially kill off the sale of all gas powered dirt bikes which is a wise decision. Having a bunch of engines designed to burn oil pisses off the general public and attracts the attention of the environmental agencies world wide.
@@MD-xl1sq Yamaha still offers 2006 YZs they updated a few things this year but it’s still just an 06. Until this year Yamaha didn’t even advertise they still made them even they don’t spend much on them they are using 16+ year old tooling and machine processing to build them so it doesn’t cost them much to produce. And they spent a little on R&D last year to give them updated plastics and carbs and few other odds and ends but nothing major.
Jesus he was treating this kid like he was 7! And he doesn’t know much about bikes, the kawis have a much higher top end and the Austrian bikes are just a more linear powerband.

When I had my kx85 I had super wide Carmichael bars on it and they were amazing except I’d drag bar everywhere

I just picked up a 2023 kx112 for 5300 otd, including dealer fees/freight/taxes. They had a $1k dollar rebate so msrp was $4k, I couldnt pass it up

If you are talking about the 2022 kx85 the plastics are carried over to the 2022 kx112 so kx85 graphics will fit the 112
