Sadly, this is how it often is. The eldest is pride and the youngest is joy. The eldest is bound to protect the younger ones and set the best example in all that they do. But the younger ones amuse the adults and never fail to be the centre of attention. As the eldest, you really do feel the weight of it all at points and I really relate to the way Elizabeth and Margarets' relationship is portrayed!

I know many people who are the eldest, as well as being one myself, and I can tell you that they and myself would never dream of abusing our siblings, no matter how much we may hate them sometimes.

Yes Diana is the one they are currently building up to, but I'm really curious on what kind of characterization they're going to give Elizabeth for when they eventually have to cover Margaret's death. I always wondered in the Show how the wedding between Margeret and Peter was shown that Elisabeth is the one who breaks the oath she have to her father. Margeret did it too. She grown up in the family and should know what it means to be King/Queen. Even if Lisbeth gave her word that she can marry Peter, she sind everything to make that happen. But there is the oath she gave as a sovereign. Lisbeth shouldn't do the promise which lead to cut to the oath, but to make so much pressure on her did it too.

'The Crown' should reflect reality. Princess Margaret had her problems. The Queen & Prince Philip's lives of service should remind everyone of the huge, tangible power for peace and stability the British monarchy is for everyone in Britain, the commonwealth and for the world. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, which opposes illegal dictatorship and helps keep the peace. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia, have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy is an important one. In the UK, 'peace' in formal speech is "The Queen's Peace".
Of course the Queen & Prince Philip had their failings as parents, and Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the service they give, and for the difference the monarchy makes for the better, in the world. There will always be violence in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy. The value of the British crown since the 1700s is, many billions of people have lived under it without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives.

@@carolinasandberg4567I've seen a lot of people saying that Margaret would be an incredible queen. However, the monarchy could weaken with some of its ideas and actions. Furthermore, the monarch cannot do whatever he wants. He has his obligations and duties and must defend and fulfill them with the utmost respect. Margaret was very loose and down to earth. Perhaps her life would be even more difficult if she were queen, as she could probably be stopped by the government or even her own family because of her behavior. If Queen Elizabeth II, who was taught from the age of 10 and didn't have as much freedom or had some obstacles during her reign, imagine for Margaret that she didn't have so many people on top of her telling her what she should or shouldn't do, or her studies What did Elizabeth have on the constitution? Don't you think it would be much more difficult for a person who wasn't prepared correctly for this position? The country was going through difficult situations and the queen needed to be strong and mature. Would Margaret be able to handle it, from what I've read about her, Margaret was a person who wanted to live a happy and free life. Do you think she could have those parties she did? No. Being queen/king is much more than serving your country, it is obeying the laws and traditions that the monarchy carries. Would she be willing to let go of her dreams, the man she loved. Because if you think she would marry Peter if she were queen, you're wrong. If as a princess she couldn't, who will say as a queen?
