I love this show so much. Really. I love how complex the characters are. How well written. As much as I hate CHARLES... Damn, his story is sooo good. The parallels between his storyline and Queens... They are so similar and yet so different. Because in the end Queen knew what is the most important - CROWN. She was able to fit in, to follow her duty. And Charles said in s3 (I wish I added this scene but damn how long is this video hahaha) that the moment Queen will die the moment he will be able to be himself. And the whole thing is, Queen literally sacrifice herself for the crown. And he won't be able to do it. And this is why she is THE QUEEN and he is just a spoiled man.
I really want to vid Charles, but i hate him way too much after the whole Diana/Camilla story. Uh.
Next THE CROWN video will be for sure Princess Margaret. SHE IS LITERALLY THE BEST. I love her so much.
And THE QUEEN. My love for this woman. I feel like all I want to do is vid THE CROWN so be ready hahahaha

@@ImtiredofUok She has always been a symbol for Britain. I mean, when a person thinks about Britain, immediately the first thing that comes to mind is the Queen. She has provided stability and continuity even in the face of tragedy. She never wanted to be Queen yet she has held her position with great esteem and outlasted many of her prime ministers. She keeps on going and doesn't show any sign of slowing down. She has earned my respect for that.
@@nimfajuntilla8676 to each it's own but to me she only represents a fairytale and it seems as if she is prepared to destroy real lives to keep the fairytale alive. Her sister, son, Diana and Meghan and who knows how many others and don't be surprised to one day realize that a short happy life is way better than a long miserable one

She is doing her best to serve her people. She neglected her duties as a mother for her children to be a mother for her country and the commonwealth. Her experience and the events that have occurred in her lifetime is beyond our comprehension and so you don't have the right to state that she destroy lives because you don't even understand her position as Queen.

exactly! when i started season 3, it was almost abnormal to look at and listen to the new cast, but now i can never imagine them leaving.
I feel terribly sorry for Diana but at the same time, terribly sorry for Charles too.
Why do you feel sorry for Charles! He just think about himself.he got a loveing wife but he never value because of his own insecurity

@@weekendinspiration8541 Because he was never listened to by his parents, because his wishes were never taken into account. Because when someone is not listened to or loved or appreciated, the person ends up destroying others or destroying themselves. He deserved as much love as Diana deserved. Both are victims of the rottenness generated by the royalty. The royalty destroyed both Charles and Diana.
May we also remember, Charles never wanted to marry Diana. Camilla was always the woman he loved. But with Camilla not having the rightt pedigree and not being a virgin, she was rejected as an option. Charles only married Diana to please his mother and father. If he wasn't heir and further down the line, it would be more likely to be 'approved'.
@@audreyp525 Some interesting and largely sensible comments here. Just a bit to add. Camilla would have been accepted. Her background was perfectly acceptable. In fact she refused Charles's proposal of marriage because she didn't want the restrictions that go with Royal privilege. Just as The Queen Mother did twice.
When you think about Diana..you hate Charles..but then you understand, that he himself was not heard, not given the compassion and care he longed for from his dutiful family. Maybe Camilla was the one who first filled the gaps in his heart..and she meant the world to him.. but realised it only after it was too late..And seeing the emotions the Queen had suppressed all through out her life, the sacrifices she made for the crown,, ibet no other human being can live the life she lives...Diana, in the end...was the one to lose it all.. if she was alive, she too might have found a life with warmth and care that she always longed for.
A psychologist said that Diana would never have been able to form a long term happy relationship. Her problems were caused in childhood by having an alcoholic bully for a father and an adulterous mother, who largely ignored her. That meant that when she received adulation she needed more and more. Then more wasn't enough. Very sad.

Completely agree with your point. Being a Royal at her time was like being in a cage, even if it was a golden one. Would trade places with her.

I felt so bad for Margaret, she was one of the ones who rebelled against being in the background and having no purpose. And watching her deal with being overlooked in her family with her sister, then her husband was... hard. Helena Bonhams scene by the pool is super depressing..

1:12-2:34 FINALLY. Oh my god finally i have been waiting for someone to edit these scenes this way. The parallels, and the recurrent theme of the Crown's biggest burden to *do nothing*. This has been such a huge guiding piece in my life lately, and until you've find yourself in a situation where you're faced between doing something or nothing, only then will you feel just how HARD it is to do...or rather not do. Inaction is not a lack of action...and a lot of times, it the most right thing to do.

I do hope The Queen knew how loved she was, how much we admired her for her selflessness everyday, she truly was Queen of The World in ways. I miss her terribly. Paying my homage and visiting her resting place was very emotional. May she continue to rest in peace with her most loved, together again.
Diana was just wanting her husband’s love. If she had that, she would still be alive and happy, married, be able to be with her grandchildren, and one day be queen consort.
I love this series, but the music is too loud in some places you can hardly hear the spoken words.

I think Prince Philip was the only one who survived being No 2. He was able to forge a path as prince consort and maximise what the Establishment limited him to.
