As someone who studied general color theory, I hate when people say "people with neutral undertones are lucky because they can go for any color. It's a myth. More specifically, it's a cop-out explanation of the true nature of neutral skin tones. It's not the fault of Dear Peachie, but it is still the wrong answer. Most colorists say this because the real answer is complicated for the average person to understand. I will try to explain it in a way that's not too complicated. Yes, neutrals are more likely to get away with a warm color than someone with a cool tone. They are also more likely to get away with a cool color than someone with a warm color. That's because they fall right in the middle of the temperature spectrum. The negative side of this is the fact that people with neutral undertones have a harder time finding the colors that work best for them. They tend to struggle with looking. "okay" in most colors, but they have a harder time finding a color that really compliments them and makes them GLOW. The best answer should be to tell people with neutral undertones that they look best in neutral colors. Neutral undertones are also more likely to look good in the muted version of colors. Saturated colors are more likely to lean very cool or very warm so it washes them out. Also, natural colors tend to lean slightly more towards one end of the spectrum. If someone is neutral, but leaning slightly cooler, they look best in slightly cool colors that are a bit muted. So if you want, instead of wearing black (which is a very cool color), you would look great in a charcoal grey. If you are neutral, but lean slightly warm (most neural skin tones lean slightly warm), then you would look good in a muted warm color. For example, instead of yellow, you probably would look best in burnt orange. *Edit: A lot of people are asking me for color analysis under my comment. I am happy to, but please know that it's only based on your description. I am not seeing your skin. Because of this, I HIGHLY recommend that you take my comments with a grain of salt. There is no way I am 100% accurate. I'd be surprised if 20% of my answers are correct. I can only go based on your descriptions and your descriptions can be skewed.*
I agree with this, I have a neutral skin tone and it's even harder to find a good lipstick color. A true neutral nude is hard to find, anything cool toned makes me look pinkish, anything warm washes me out. It's a pain😭
A tip or comment for those with wavy/curly hair: Light colors will reflect less light on your hair texture and thus look drier than it actually is, so if you want a healthy looking hair I would recommend you to choose darker colors. I think I got that tip from Chahong's TH-cam channel or Brad Mondo but I think it will help to avoid any unnecessary purchases since you may think that your hair needs more protein and such. Take care!
I CAN CONFIRM THIS. I used to dyed my hair blonde and my curls looked really dry, even though I took care of them. I always wanted to be a blonde but it felt so frustrating to buy all the expensive products and put all my efforts for my hair to still look bad 😞 Now I dye it Auburn and my hair looks so good, it suits my skin and my vibe, I'm happier than ever ❤️
Omg thanks !! I don’t know if I’m going to dye my hair anytime soon, but this was really useful information, considering I thought about dying my hair light at one point

You actually face more limitations with a neutral skin tone. Colors that are either too warm, too cool, too vibrant will clash with your complexion. You have to choose a neutral color to match.
@@user-pb5qx5ur4k The same limitations do apply to hair colour. I have neutral light skin, and I think both very warm and very cool hair colours (and very vibrant colours) look rather strange on me. I know this because I love dying/bleaching my hair and trying different colours. Out of all of them, the vibrant pink, red, purple, blue are the ones that look the most “awkward”. They are either too warm or too cool for me. The interesting thing is that, as they fade to more “washed-out” and neutral versions of themselves (such as pale pink/pinkish blonde/pale blue/blueish grey), they would all start to look much better on me. This is the same thing with lipstick choices for me. Very warm (like orange) and very cool (like hot pink) lip colours don’t suit me at all. Neutral skin tone still has many limits, because only true white and true black are “limitless” neutral colours that go well with basically every single colour in the world. If you don’t have true white/black skin, you’re bound to meet some colours that just don’t suit you.
I actually believe there is no such thing as truly neutral skin tones. I think everyone is either cool or warm toned, but the people that are supposed to be neutral are just on the more muted side of either. Like me for example I’m warm toned but it’s not super noticeable. Colors that are too vibrantly cool or warm look really strange on me. I haven’t tried it out yet but I assume my best colors will be muted warm tones. It sucks cause I really wanted to look good in jet black hair but since I am a muted warm it’ll just not look that great lmao
@@vl2663 that is exactly what neutral means. you have both warm and cool. i am cool toned but with a yellow undertone - i have a neutral skin tone. for me personally i think being mixed racially plays a big part of that. i have a HUGE problem finding actual colors that suit me, pure white and pure black tend to look okay, and specific shades of each color look fine, but its rarely only warm/cool. silver jewelry looks amazing, gold jewelry looks terrible because I am mostly cool toned. but my yellow undertone makes alot of cool colors wash me out. jet black hair looks okay on me whereas (surprisingly) more reddish blacks look more natural. but i had blue and mint green hair before too and ALWAYS got compliments.
@@amiiokok I have the same issue same colors work& don't work for me. I am actually very pale. The lightest foundation however is usually both too cool and not quite light enough. I think mixed nationalities make a big difference
Girl no joke, you should definitely become a personal style guru. I would pay good money to have you analyse my pic and point out what I can do to improve my features. I have typical latin american features (long thick hair, dark eyes and eyebrows, tanned skin) so I feel like my options are a bit limited, however I could take your opinion on it anytime. omg i agree 😭 im always watching this channel but i feel like its so difficult to adapt these tips for western features (im also latina) id definitely pay for personal advice!!
@@angie-lc9iz yeah, there's so little beauty content on the internet that match our features that I always tend to do the same hairstyle and make up (brown/black eyeshadow, eyeliner and red lips) bc I really don't know how to explore my features further from that
@@angie-lc9iz yeah, lol I'm black and I feel that this is generally aimed towards east asians but it's fine I just wish we had good style gurus like peachie for us. Most western stylists will tell you to use exaggerated makeup "tips" and buy expensive products like wtf.
I love how this channel often brings attention to what style we actually want to achieve (e.g. mature, cute, sexy) instead of assuming that everyone just wants to look cute and youthful all the time. They also try to give as many options as possible to different facial features and skin shades. Not just limit us to one or two boring options. I always come away from their videos knowing more ways to style myself instead of less.
Glad you said this, there is a huge misconception that people with deeper skin tones can't get anywhere near bright colours whether it be hair, make up, clothes etc. The biggest problem I see specifically with hair is that the colour does not match the skin tone and the persons undertone. Which probably make the contrast not look good, however if they were give the right colour to match their skin tone and undertone, the contrast would be complementary.
I will keep saying this. This channel is just a treasure. I have learnt to be more aware of how even the little things have such huge impact on our total look as well as how Dear Peachie always reminds to be more confident in yourself which truly makes the most difference.
i absolutely adore rose in blonde, and especially silver hair. ofc she’s gorgeous anyway, but honestly don’t understand when people think dark suits her better, when she literally looks like she was meant to have silver hair. it’s crazy how good she looks with it. just my opinion :)
Personally i don't prefer one, i think that both blonde and darker hair color suit her in the same way, blonde give her that angelic vibe while black give her that bad b!tch vibe. But since we know that her hair are extremely damaged she should go darker, like brow or even dark maybe even cut it shorter like Jennie or lisa and let her hair rest for at least a year or two
I prefer her with the warm blonde like in coachella. The silver/bluish hair kinda washes her out and makes her look more sick(?) compared to her warm blonde. But yes she looks better with light colours
i just think that her hair’s been dyed continuously long enough that her hair needs a break by letting her have her natural hair color lol. her hair has thinned so much if compared to the year 2018 and i don’t want to see it become even more unhealthy by the very often amount of bleaching.
Chaeyoung is neutral leaning towards cool. She isn’t warm toned at all. She might be confusing to figure out because she’s a clear winter. Clear winters like myself, have neutral skin tones with a cooler or warmer inclination. Joy for example is another clear winter but also leans towards warm (like myself) Hence why she looks good in cooler coral colours. Since I have the same temp as joy, I need some warmth, so I would wear a cool base lip with a warm base middle to balance out. Chaeyoung however, would need a warm base with cool point makeup which is why our type is really confusing. What matters is the top colour that shows related to our leaning temp, but we’re neutral so we always need that balance of both warm and cool
I came to comment that Chaeyoung is a clear winter, as someone typed me as CW as well. She looked so good in the cool brown hair that was one of the examples, which highlighted the natural contrast she has. On the other hand, the orange color looked "outside" of her and made her look hot (as in hot and sweaty and stuffy). But from one clear winter to another, I got confused with the lip bases that you mentioned. I find that I gravitate towards pink and coral colors too which has caused me great confusion. Would you mind sharing with me the sources where you get makeup advices (or just info in general)? I would really appreciate it! ^^
Omg, this makes so much sense! Thank you so much I finally know what I am! 😂 that's why I dress in cool tones but always need warm toned lipstick, I was so confused!
@@cookieeees search up about season colour analysis! It’s divided to 4 main seasons: winter, summer, spring, autumn where winter and summer are cool-toned, while spring and autumn are warm-toned. Clear winter is a sub-category under winter, who look best with cool-toned, high saturation colours
About rose, i tend to belive sometime between the brown and blonde hair some surgery was made to her chin, and the hair color was changed so we would not think she has done something. But,in fact, blond hair cannot make your chin suddenly pointy. Only a doctor can.

I miss Rosé with black hair but I believe the blonde (just like in coachella) suits her more. But I'm a bit worried about her hair and scalp. She said it herself in an IG live that it's dry, and she also said in an interview that she can't do any hairstyles because of her hair condition. I think she should give her hair a rest for a year or maybe two, and just wear wigs if she needs to.
chaeyoung is on the cool tone side. she's definitely clear cool/ winter clear. that's why orange doesn't maximalize her aura. and rose is a light autumn, so light hair color (warm>cool) suit her the best. it's about personal color✨
@@xia8696 it's because winter clear is close to sun clear (such us iu/nayeon) and it's different on every person. but chaeyoung is winter clear that more close to cool side. and joy rv is the example of winter clear that more close to warm side.
@@xia8696 That's because the outer layer of the skin can be slightly tanned - but tanned people can still be cool toned, black people can also be cool toned. The strength of "tan" is not as important as the undertone of the skin (you can determine it by color of the veins,...). I agree to the poster, she is cool-toned.
I personally think darker hair on Rosé just doesn't suit her because I feel like it overpowers her visuals as to where blonde hair puts everything about her visually all together. BUT she is absolutely stunning with whatever color her hair is.
@@junniiie.4278 I think that's probably it but she also at the same time looks so icy in a very almost Snow White kinda beauty but it just doesn't scream HER, cause Rosé is very energetic and lively and dark colors usually take that away from people's auras.
In my perspective, both shades suit her regardless of her face structure and skintone. Rosie both rock dark and bold rockstar-like style; and sophisticated or fairy like her energy (i also think 'softgirl' is her aesthetic).
I hate it when ppl say stuff about long heads, like tht their ugly and stuff so its better not to make it visible,,not only tht but square face too ,, every head shape is beautiful and can be shown
I love the fact you always take personality and style into consideration! And maybe it's just me, but I also choose colors to fit the season. I prefer to use darker and more neutral colors in winter, and a little lighter and brighter colors in summer.
“Visual Weight” is such a helpful concept for me! Im a natural redhead 👩🏻🦰 but I looked AMAZING (could not go anywhere without compliments) with BLUE hair. Maybe because it’s different… but now I think it’s also because I have a “long face” and the bleach required (to show the vibrant color blue) made my hair look light as a cloud. I felt lighter, and perhaps it also raised my face shape. Hmmm… very interesting tips as always!
My face color is literally a chameleon, she’s the color she wants to be in that day 😭 in some pics I look pinkish, in others yellowish and sometimes I look both, I never find similar shades to my skin color
Probably leaning neutral, however hue (warm/cool) is just one aspect of colour to take in to account! Also consider brightness (light/dark) and chroma/saturation to find your best colours!
Neutral undertone actually doesn't exist 😅 it refers to soft/muted coloring, you can be either cool or warm just not too cool or too warm. The "neutrals look good in anything" is just plain wrong. If you find you don't look good in either platinum blonde nor brassy copper pick a more muted hair color. It's also important to take into account the red/green blanace, if you have red in your skin you will pull of reddish colors being both C or W, if you're olive (lack of any red or pink tone) avoid reds and coppers, I'm light warm skin tone but look awful in those colors cause I recently find out I'm close to neutral AND olive, slight warm but muted look best on me, I avoid any redness on the hair which make my heur color look a bit ashy but still warm
I have olive undertone , sometimes i look red when exposed to sun, sometimes greyish....i look dead if i don't wear makeup.... i tried dyeing anything red but it looked so bad but black looks good on me ,i want to try different colors ,hahaha it's so difficult for me to find the right shade besides i have round face. I don't know what is the best shade for other than black..
hey girl!!! I had the same problem lol, blew $280 on pastel purple only for me to look old and ashy.....I gave up and decided to go for a dark but unnatural colour (dark green) and it looked great. if ur bored of black maybe can look for non-natural dark hair colours!!
I’m not saying this in a bad way but I wish you included a more diverse spectrum of celebrities because most Korean celebs have extremely pale skin so for black and brown people it’s kinda hard to compare…
WHAT... I was just researching on what hair color should I buy since I'm dyeing my hair for the very first time. You must have heard me peachie😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really like it and so it's odd to me that the video says orange or "vibrant" colours don't suit warm undertones, when majority of gingers or auburn haired women are warm toned autumns? At least that's what I saw from all "season" stuff and tests. I'm soft Autumn (warm toned) and I've been told red/orange hair suits us 😅. So now I'm confused. Or maybe they meant the clearly dyed, vibrant, rich orange colour and not "natural" pale ginger 🤷♀️. Since Jennie's colour is soft and not vibrant as Chaeyoung's for example
@@Ilive_420 The seasonal analysis u described is fairly inaccurate for Asians, because we all have some yellow(warmth) to our skin, plus our eyes are either brown or black. I think the visual weight idea is very accurate. A strong jawline and such really suits dark hair, whereas a curved jawline and smaller features suit lighter hair
I also prefer Rose with blond hair But honestly, I'm quite worried about her current hair condition. She bleached them a lot and she herself said they are now really fragile...
As a natural dark blonde I found the exact opposite was true for me - platinum blonde was super easy and non damaging to my hair, and I never had to wear makeup because it already looked nice with my skin tone and natural eyebrow and eyelash color. On the other hand, when I dyed my hair black it didn't suit me and I HAD to dye it every two weeks or it would look like I was balding! I HAD to wear heavy heavy makeup or it didn't suit me at all. I think sticking to colors closer to your natural color is a good idea, unless you're Rosé :)

Ok, no matter what - I just love my white hair and it'll stay with me! Btw there is also a beauty in tan + light hair - imagine Kida from Atlantis. It's also a very appealing and exotic look!
I gotta say when I saw dark hair it made me feel like they looked really powerful and sexy, while blonde looks cuter and softer. I personally don't like unnatural looking colors tho! They are pretty but it doesn't really match as well
I also think for older people dark hair seems to make them look more youthful, as blonde hair on old people just looks like their hair has turned white or is turning white which ages their look
Been blonde for 3 years, I ought to bleach my hair root once a month. It really such a high maintanace but it I think I doesn't worth for health & money in long term. Gonna back to my natural hair colour

I believe that with Rosie’s current face she will look so gorgeous in black hair. Because her visuals are kind of similar to actress Seo yea Ji.
You're just brilliant, thanks for always putting out precious content for us
omg i agree 😭 im always watching this channel but i feel like its so difficult to adapt these tips for western features (im also latina) id definitely pay for personal advice!!
I'm pretty sure there's a team behind this channel.
@@katgreer6113 fr western stylist make you look like kim kardashian and thats defo not my thing escpecially since i have a baby face
Yes, I appreciate the depth they put into these videos!
dark skin and light hair can look great just as light skin and dark hair can bc they contrast and complement eachother
But since we know that her hair are extremely damaged she should go darker, like brow or even dark maybe even cut it shorter like Jennie or lisa and let her hair rest for at least a year or two
@@ryry0626 yeah, maybe a wig would be better sometimes, since it is so bad for her hair to constantly dye it.
I like the blonde hair on her as well as the black ones but the silver ones make her look sick :'D
Yes I was so confused when she said chaeyoung was warm toned I was like where she’s clearly a neutral to cool toned to me
I came to comment that Chaeyoung is a clear winter, as someone typed me as CW as well.
What is a clear winter?
@@cookieeees search up about season colour analysis! It’s divided to 4 main seasons: winter, summer, spring, autumn where winter and summer are cool-toned, while spring and autumn are warm-toned. Clear winter is a sub-category under winter, who look best with cool-toned, high saturation colours
About rose, i tend to belive sometime between the brown and blonde hair some surgery was made to her chin, and the hair color was changed so we would not think she has done something. But,in fact, blond hair cannot make your chin suddenly pointy. Only a doctor can.
@@angelflorence All the members? What do you mean?

also not to mention the efforts being put into the videos
each and every video is so informative and the visual is so attractive and clean

overall your videos are super easy and soothing to watch!! They're so useful as well!!
a genuine THANK YOU !! 🫶✨
I miss Rosé with black hair but I believe the blonde (just like in coachella) suits her more. But I'm a bit worried about her hair and scalp. She said it herself in an IG live that it's dry, and she also said in an interview that she can't do any hairstyles because of her hair condition. I think she should give her hair a rest for a year or maybe two, and just wear wigs if she needs to.
chaeyoung is on the cool tone side. she's definitely clear cool/ winter clear. that's why orange doesn't maximalize her aura. and rose is a light autumn, so light hair color (warm>cool) suit her the best. it's about personal color✨
she actually has a warm tone, not 100% cool
@@xia8696 it's because winter clear is close to sun clear (such us iu/nayeon) and it's different on every person. but chaeyoung is winter clear that more close to cool side. and joy rv is the example of winter clear that more close to warm side.
@@kerangputih6847 wait u meant twice chaeyoung?
Hi what if i want a light hair color cuz i have prominent chin. but i am winter deep so light colors wouldn’t suit me?
@@xia8696 That's because the outer layer of the skin can be slightly tanned - but tanned people can still be cool toned, black people can also be cool toned. The strength of "tan" is not as important as the undertone of the skin (you can determine it by color of the veins,...). I agree to the poster, she is cool-toned.
I personally think darker hair on Rosé just doesn't suit her because I feel like it overpowers her visuals as to where blonde hair puts everything about her visually all together. BUT she is absolutely stunning with whatever color her hair is.
It’s mainly because of her face size and shape which is big and long. If she has dark hair it makes her seem pale and less energised.
FOR MYSELF : (warm master tone)
Color recs: (red/browns)
• chestnut brown
• caramel brown
• gold brown
• reddish brown
• light auburn
Color recs: (blonde)
• blush blonde
• gold beige
• buttery blonde
“Rules is just a way to get started” I love this.
My face color is literally a chameleon, she’s the color she wants to be in that day 😭 in some pics I look pinkish, in others yellowish and sometimes I look both, I never find similar shades to my skin color
Sameeeeeeee. I always used to think I was warm toned
You're probably neutral then
Same
But I kinda feel like mine goes to cold tone more
Probably leaning neutral, however hue (warm/cool) is just one aspect of colour to take in to account! Also consider brightness (light/dark) and chroma/saturation to find your best colours!
Same, this is the reason I'm struggling to know whether I am cool toned or warm toned
Same
hey girl!!! I had the same problem lol, blew $280 on pastel purple only for me to look old and ashy.....I gave up and decided to go for a dark but unnatural colour (dark green) and it looked great. if ur bored of black maybe can look for non-natural dark hair colours!!
Try ash Brown
Girllll I feel you on so many levels 😩
Same here
I’m not saying this in a bad way but I wish you included a more diverse spectrum of celebrities because most Korean celebs have extremely pale skin so for black and brown people it’s kinda hard to compare…
I wish they would too but it seems the team behind this is East Asian and catering to what they know. I hope I don’t come off as rude.
Same
WHAT... I was just researching on what hair color should I buy since I'm dyeing my hair for the very first time. You must have heard me peachie😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg just when jennie dyed her hair orange
Today lol
That doesn’t mean we are all warm toned. Koreans have developed their own seasonal analysis system for themselves and if you’re interested, check out UIREH (One and Only) who analyses kpop celebrities personal colour!
I think the visual weight idea is very accurate. A strong jawline and such really suits dark hair, whereas a curved jawline and smaller features suit lighter hair
I have high cheekbones and small face and a low sharp jaw, what is my visual weight
@@RubabHere-.....Probably high
I also prefer Rose with blond hair
But honestly, I'm quite worried about her current hair condition. She bleached them a lot and she herself said they are now really fragile...
I agree. I think she should let her hair rest for a year or two, and just wear wigs if she has schedules.
Im dying my hair blonde too , but i only touch up every 3-3half months. I dont mind root showing 😅
This person is the whole reason why people compliment me more at my school
love that you mentionned hwasa! i base my hair colors /cut off hwasa all the time because she has a tan and pear shape body like me hehe
I read your comment and I suddenly understood something that I didn't understand before. I'm a natural blonde but dyed my hair black and only after your comment I realized how much more make up I use. A lot of eyebrows or else I'm mona lisa on her bad day and bold eye make up . I'm thinking of going towards a lighter shade
I have golden medium to dark blonde hair and pale cool skin, do you think going a bit lighter to a ash blonde sort of color could work, my natural color is warm so its conflicting
I love your videos, they’ve helped me so much! Please can you do a video on how to find which hairstyles suit you e.g high, low, intricate, loose, side-swept, to the front, back, partings etc?

You can also play with gradient hair color or contrasting hair color which also affects facial weight and where the attention is drawn to.
I want to change my hair color but I'm scared of bleach 😵💫
I have never thought that red hair would fit me so much. I dyed my hair pink ,purple, blue(blue was disaster) ,blonde, silver and Platinum blonde. And I wanted to let my hair rest so I tried Red I have natural ashy blonde so I don't have to bleach my hair to get light red colour. I love IT❤️
Chaeyeong is most DEFINITELY a cool undertoned woman! Come on, dear Peachie?
I think I will always stay with black, bcos of the fact that it’s just too difficult for me to maintain the color and vibrancy 😭
Thank you!!! My favourite features are my cheekbones and jaw line. I never knew that by choosing soft colours I take away from them. Will go dark soon ☺️
Ok, no matter what - I just love my white hair and it'll stay with me! Btw there is also a beauty in tan + light hair - imagine Kida from Atlantis. It's also a very appealing and exotic look!
Rose in the thumbnail with black hair looks gorgeous or is it just me ??
Omg Miss Roseanne Park in BLACK hair absolutely look's GORGEOUS.
I gotta say when I saw dark hair it made me feel like they looked really powerful and sexy, while blonde looks cuter and softer. I personally don't like unnatural looking colors tho! They are pretty but it doesn't really match as well
I just thinking about dying my hair for the first time and it's huge luck to understand your video. Thank you very much
just wanna mention if you have a cool tone I would also try milk tea brown, it's absolutely gorgeous especially on lighter skin
Do you use box dye to retouch roots, does it damage a lot

hey guys if you don't want the commitment and costs of fully colored hair but still want to pop, i would recommend getting money piece hair. it has also resurfaced as e-girl hair i only really care about how i look from the front, so i don't mind if the back of my hair isn't colored. and it can accentuate your face very well especially the blond ones (rogue blond). i am too lazy and poor for a full hair color, plus i enjoy my dark hair
I believe that with Rosie’s current face she will look so gorgeous in black hair. Because her visuals are kind of similar to actress Seo yea Ji. And seo yea Ji looks divine in black so Rosie will slay it too.
Rosie looks beautiful in any colour. She goes more with brighter tones but It seems like there is a change in her face that will make her look different in black hair from her rookie days. Even as a rookie, with dark hair she looked so cute.
