I rebuilt it. Lets see how it is on day 126 :) maybe I add a bit steel, more fences and turrets even tho it might be overkill. I was searching for a nice base and this was by far the interresting one for me so thank you again!
If you want to get higher tier items earlier in the game, loot in higher tier zones (desert, snow) and play on higher difficulties to raise the game stage. Like most base building videos on youtube I use commands to spawn in items, change time of day etc. You can see me use one such command later in the video. This does not change the usefulness of the video.
Is it possible to build the generator in the main room for protection sake and do spikes on the roof? Because I'm a bit concerned for that flying stuff
Yes, but place it in the back corner as far from from bars as possible, you could also place it in the ground (centre of the main room). In over 1000+ hours of play time I have never had any items on the roof destroyed. I place it on the roof because if they break through it keeps it safe and I can just climb up and shoot down at them.
Not any particular reason it's just one of many ways to build horde bases. Ground level with trenches and corridors, raised bases and underground. It gets boring making every base the same way.
