I saw Alfie in his last performance as Jean Valjean on Broadway and he got like an almost 3 minute standing ovation afterwards. I then got to meet him afterwards and not only is he an incredible performer, but he's an authentic person too!
I don't know there is just something about John Owen-Jones voice that is just perfection to me. Especially when he sings this song it's just so clear and crisp and ugh I love it so much.
John Owen-Jones (or just JOJ) is absolutely incredible. He is best known for his stunning turns as Jean Valjean in Les Mis as well as the Phantom in PotO. You should definitely look up any video of him singing Bring Him Home (solo) and Music of the Night and the title song from Phantom.
Ramin is not a trained singer. He is my favorite Phantom. Speaking of Phantom could you react to Ramin’s Music Of The Night? Rumor has it he does not breathe before hitting the A flat.
I was lucky enough to see Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman on Broadway when I was a junior in high school. Needless to say I've had a crush on her ever since.
Colm Wilkinson set the standard for me on this song. He set the bar so high. Really a favorite song of mine. Thnx for posting this! Grtz from Holland ❤️🤘🏻
You should definitely react to more Ramin Karimloo!! I’d recommend him singing Music of the Night (I do also love him singing the role of Gleb in Anastasia, as well as Enjolras, Valjean, and Marius in Les Mis)
Ramin is amazing! Known as one of the best phantoms, next to Crawford himself, original phantom in Love Never Dies (POTO sequel) original Gleb in Anastasia, and played so many roles in Les Mis and POTO! And here's the kicker- he taught himself how to sing and didn't learn to read sheet music until later! He taught himself how to act using books, and Andrew Lloyd Weber handpicked him to play phantom in LND. Literal talent and skill. Love him! [If you saw Phantom of the Opera on TH-cam, that was him on the 15th anniversary!]
Alfie Boe and John Owen- Jones have both played JVJ many times on Broadway and the West End. Ramin (pronounced Ra-mean) also played JVJ on Broadway. JOJ and Ramin have also played the Phantom. Alfie is actually a classically trained opera singer. Definitely check out some of his opera stuff.
John Owen Jones played the role in London and broadway multiple times. He was 26 when he first played the role. He is amazing and one of my favorites. Glad you discovered how awesome he is! They are all great.
Can you do a reaction to Ramin Karimloo singing Till I Hear You Sing, and Sierra Boggess singing Love Never Dies both from 'Love Never Dies'? I would love to hear your opinion on them!
Songs performed by Diana Ankudinova - all live! She lives each story of the song by herself and through her feelings shakes our hearts!!! We rejoice in the light like children, or our soul is squeezed by sadness! Diana left no one indifferent...no one!!!= ))) Diana's tone gives the audience goosebumps!!! It's like a diamond with its own hue!!!=)))))
Some covers performed on the project "You are Super!" (Russia, NTV channel): "Wicked Game", Human ", Blizzard". Indifferent - you will definitely not stay!
Also listen to the four valjeans (Alfie boe, John Owen Jones, colm Wilkinson and Simon bowman). I think there's a video on TH-cam called the four valjeans lead by colm Wilkinson.
nerding out with you... this song just crushes me in all the right ways (same with empty chairs, OMG) and I had not heard all the vocalists here so that was a lovely gift you gave.... this and Ted Neely singing Gethsemane (I did get to see him perform at a 20 or 25th anniv) are my favs upon many other amazing performances. Danke darlin' ... made my day brighter. *edit - i LOVE that you said pouchier*
What about “One day more” from the 10th anniversary Les Misérables concert? Or “Stars,” “Javert’s suicide,” or one of my personal favs from that concert: ”Empty chairs and empty tables”
The beauty of Ramin's vocal is he is ALL NATURAL!! He has said in many interviews he has never had a single vocal lesson! He is one of my favorite Broadway performers especially in Phantom.
I know I'm 1 year late but please take a moment to watch John owen jones on This Morning (youtube video). It's from 11 years ago but oh my god it's stunning.
If you want to listen to beautiful harmonies and to geek out at Musical Theatre, please react to Ramin Karimloo and Hadley Fraser singing "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables." Those two men singing together is just absolutely sublime and hearing that duet makes me melt every time I hear it.
I played this in a brass band i played the soprano solo, it was a monumental peice to play for sop and making the instrument sing and give that rich sound was exhausting especially getting the breathing right for the last note, which felt like it lasted for ever! i love this arrangement.
I love your reactions to these singers! When you explain things and do the playbacks it really makes sense to me. Makes me wish I could sing. My joy is listening to music and vocalists! Some one has to do it. LOL. Thank you
You can tell the guy in the blue shirt is singing the melody during the clip with him singing with the guy in black (sorry, idk their names). You can hear the tension in his voice, as you see it in his mouth/lips. The one singing harmony has a more relaxed jaw and his voice demonstrates that.
Your entire point about the last line of the song is EXACTLY how I feel about the last line of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" from Phantom. Wish more performers would sing the last not of that song like this as well.
I love how everyone is doing super well in the video but let me shout out a few things. First, I think Scott is singing the lower harmony. Second, that Mr Owen John..just incredible! Third, fra fee..ooh that sound from that mouth is just so intimate and pure Forth, oh TARA! I always in awe everytime you're giving the example of how the voice is created, you're just solo good at explaining and always on point. I am, as a bathroom singer 😂😂, super duper helped by your tips. I applied almost everything you said! Especially the bounced-back consonant in the end of a phrase. I love you TARA keep inspiring. Thank you so much for what you've done!
This was great, she's not only a music lover, but knows the craft and is good at analysis, but is familiar with most of the singers. I'd be interested if she did similar on Nathan Pacheco's version of the same song. Pretty please?
My singing teacher has challenged me to sing in my head voice and I am going to attempt this song in soprano. I have been watching as many different versions of it as I can get my hands on which is how I stumbled across this and I am so happy I did. I adore your enthusiasm. And I am now going to track down some of your other videos and disappear down the TH-cam rabbit hole getting nothing else done today - I blame you entirely and I don't even care! lol
Such a pretty video ^_^ also Tara you look super pretty in this video! (Not that you don't in others lol) But I love the lipstick, your bun and the top :D very well paired together! I wish Hugh Jackman could've been in the video because I love his voice.
I would love to see your reaction to a less known group called Vocal Point. They have an incredible arrangement of Nearer my God to Thee. There's also a live version of the song 😃. Anyway great video as always!
Hello Tara! Thanks for your video! Please make reaction Wicked game, Human🌞🌞🌞DIANA ANKUDINOVA talented fantastic singer 🌹🌹🌹Shock and surpise guaranteed. You will not regret making a reaction.
Check out TELL MY FATHER as performed by Brendan McAlester. You will feel SOMETHING, guaranteed (it became my new Audition song for whenever we can do that again)
Ramin Karimloo is hands down the best phantom. I saw him at Her Majesty’s Theatre in PotO many years ago and I’ve seen it loads of times. I had never thought anyone could better Michael Crawford but the emotion you can hear in Karimloo’s Music of the Night is incredible. I don’t think there’s a recording of Karimloo’s Phantom and there’s a version of him doing MotN with an acoustic guitar in the background but it’s simply not as good. And now Phantom has shut its doors in The West End for good ... thanks covid 😒
You must do the At home version of You CAN'T STOP THE BEAT from Hairspray. Such a blast!!! Love you're channel. I'm not singing inclined but enjoy it ALL still the same. Thank you for broadening my horizons!
Ooooph...all that vocal power in harmony. Overwhelming. Speaking of musical theatre, I'm really curious about your reaction to one of the most unique voices that has ever sung on the stage. I've never been clear about whether she's a freak of nature, or has trained in a specific way to bring everything forward in her mask so powerfully. I'm talking about Broadway legend Betty Buckley, Here's a clip from the 80's of her singing two songs: "Over You" and "Memories." Also, I've always been in awe of her vowel "E," and I wonder if you'd deconstruct exactly what she's doing to get to send vowel across the room so powerfully. Also...can guys sing it like that? Thanks so much for all you do, Tara! One day, when money starts flowing again in New York City, I intend to take a couple voice lessons from you! th-cam.com/video/5w-pVb0ST2w/w-d-xo.html

Ramin didn’t go to school for musical theatre or even voice but he does have professional training from a voice teacher.
I saw Les Miserables, with Alfie Boe. We were 3 rows back, and when he sang, we were so close. Something I think I will remember always.
Colm Wilkinson set the standard for me on this song. He set the bar so high. Really a favorite song of mine. Thnx for posting this! Grtz from Holland ❤️🤘🏻
Hes the original but hes not in the same league as some of these.
@@shaunreid6851 That is dabatable and each one of us have different opinions depending on taste. As it should be.

Ramin is so amazing!!! Yeah, he can't read notes he and doesn't even know what belting means and yet he can give justice to any role he plays
@@humphreymanapul6904 Lucky you! What a legend

Noted! Thanks!
Ramin, Alfie and JOJ in this give me goosebumps! Beautiful!
John-owen Jones is actually my favourite Phantom followed by Ramin, That man's voice always sends a shiver down my spine
I'm more impressed by Tara's wardrobe i mean i've watched like a million videos of her and she always wears a new outfit
and she looks amazing
John Owen Jones played the role in London and broadway multiple times. He was 26 when he first played the role. He is amazing and one of my favorites. Glad you discovered how awesome he is! They are all great.
That last note about brought tears to my eyes. Perfection.

What a detailed analysis. Glad you love the incomparable Alfie Boe.

I was lucky to see Neeley, Carl Anderson, and Dennis DeYoung in a touring production in the mid-90s at the Chicago Theater. They were all fantastic!
What about “One day more” from the 10th anniversary Les Misérables concert? Or “Stars,” “Javert’s suicide,” or one of my personal favs from that concert: ”Empty chairs and empty tables”
John Owen jones and Allie Obe on one video???
Ugh, such legends!!! You gotta see John Owen Jones singing music of the night! So beautiful ❤️
Ultimate theater girling!
The beauty of Ramin's vocal is he is ALL NATURAL!! He has said in many interviews he has never had a single vocal lesson! He is one of my favorite Broadway performers especially in Phantom.

Those two men singing together is just absolutely sublime and hearing that duet makes me melt every time I hear it.
Tara,
Fra is actually from the cast of "Les Mis" the movie!
The Valjean Quartet. It's amazing! Which includes Colm. Perfection realized. Just splendid.
Can you react to a song from "Hamilton"? Being a theatre kid myself, I would love to see a reaction to any of the songs!
Yes!
S T I’d say more people have heard of Hamilton than Les Mis.
@@hollyh1023 I'd say a heck of a lot of people would know "Hamilton"
S T and the UK. Or anywhere that has Disney +.
S T you'd be surprised... absolutely surprised...
Home Free does a great version of this featuring Austin Brown in a live performance. So good.
AB at the end is just EVERYTHING. and your vocal comments are just amazing. Why I keep coming back. Please keep giving us this gift.
I LOVE THE SOUND OF A MAN’S VOICE! MALE SINGERS HAVE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL DEEP AND RICH VOICES I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
I played this in a brass band i played the soprano solo, it was a monumental peice to play for sop and making the instrument sing and give that rich sound was exhausting especially getting the breathing right for the last note, which felt like it lasted for ever! i love this arrangement.
Totally agree with your thoughts on joj, seen him live twice and blew my mind
It's such a beautiful, haunting song...
Les Mis will always be one of my favourite musicals. The music is just ... *chefs kiss*
