Mallory Park Crashes/Highlights, Bike Bonanza (EMRA, DTRA & Parades), 6&7/7/24

Hard to believe that I've never done this one, as it's probably the biggest event at Mallory Park these days. Formerly the 1000 Bikes Festival, this one still draws a great deal of people in, albeit one that could perhaps have been bigger without the insane amount of clashes on this weekend (F1, BSB and a big BEMSEE meeting at Cadwell to name a few!). However some great racing from the EMRA attendees, particularly the Rookie races which at times was fought as hard as the BSB races in the early 2000's, the parades contained some interestingly LOUD machines and a surprising amount of fallers due to the consistently unruly weather, and the DTRA round was a fun addition and another thing I know very little about. Shame they only come here once. Surprised at where they stuck the oval though! The whole weekend is a pretty good use of the facility of Mallory Park and really makes you realise the potential the grounds could have. A lot going on here and one that's getting an extended video later on to cover some of the parade machinery that featured the rotary Norton and Creighton bikes amongst some extremely loud Hondas, plus the trials event that was also on. It really is an impressive event with so much going on in such a short space. A ton of potential here with this. It could be the Goodwood of bike racing.
