OUCH!!! I know that you could edit out your slip crossing the stream, but thanks for sharing it with us so we know that even the most experienced hikers can slip once in a while.
Honestly, nothing sounds better than you saying "It's cheeseburger time" at the end of your video! Love how adaptable you are at making fires ~ love the pizza oven! 😂🥰😎
I got the same can opener from my mom years ago. I keep it in my first aid kit and I finally had to break it out this weekend camping when we made a peach cobbler.
Hey Sintax, I recently got a gear sling which is basically a mini hammock that I hang underneath my big hammock that I can emptying my pack into. It keeps all my stuff readily accessible and off the ground and I can reach it while laying in my hammock. Not sure if you have ever tried on but it has revolutionized my hammock camping experience because what to do with all my gear at camp has been an issue without a tent to put it all in. Just a tip. Thanks for the great videos.
@sintax77 I love that you did this loop. This is my local/ go-to hike when I want to do an overnight. It is about an hour and 15 from my house. I love seeing other people hike/camp here so that I can relate more to their experience. Would you hike here again? What would you do differently?
A Sintax camping special. I have to chuckle every time you leave an abundance of mileage for the last day. When I watch a multiple day hiking video of yours, I always think, 'Watch, he'll do short mileage at the beginning and have a lot to do at the end'. It's just funny. Nice camping trip tho, and if you enjoyed it, then YAY!
Sintax77, I’ve been following your channel for several years now and love the tips and finds in your adventures. This is really neat to see you going through my stomping grounds on the Pinchot Trail. I built that bench a few years ago around 24:00 with some friends of mine. It’s not much but was a neat project. There a couple of spots we establish along that creek (Painter’s Creek) but this was my favorite.
Hi, that's awesome that you're the one who made the bench, and you watch Sintaxs videos small world, huh? LOL 😂 I was wondering if y'all also made the tripod with the grill and the firepit? It looked like a little camping getaway spot. Pretty neat if you did.
Hey Sintax, OOPSIE 😬 somehow I hit the send button before I got to actually comment "ugh" lol but I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say this video was awesome as always. I love watching your videos, you always keep it real, and you're really good with the camera. I'm so sorry about your spill, oh my that looked painful, 😬 EEK! I hope you weren't too banged up after that. Hey, but at least you found two pretty sweet camping places when you needed them, and the best thing about your adventure is that it's your hike you planned out your route and you can change it whenever you want, if you want to take your time and take in all the nature around you and sleep in then that's exactly what you should do. I thought it was awesome how after you slept in how you were able to look at your map and find an alternate route so you could make up time "smart thinking." Normally the rain makes me sleep better and I bet that's what happened with you, it was nice and warm in your comfy hammock. Bahahaha I have a problem with using a compass, the problem is I can't figure it out "ugh" lol. I can use a road map "no problem" with the hiking map ugh I kinda get confused a little not going to lie I know north south east and west it's everything else I can't figure out, lol. Anyways I thought you did superbly 😉 I thought the burgers looked good but then you made the pizzas 🍕 yum yum yum lol they looked so delicious 😋 emm emm, lol. After Mike told you to get all the wood first before you start the fire and he gave you this awesome gift, I was wondering do you have any videos of you and Mike backpacking together? Thank you so much for sharing these awesome videos, they're pretty awesome. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗 HUGS 🤗
sintax!! Like clock work. My girl and I return from a white mountain trip. You have a new video! It's great you've been at it monthly ish !! We look forward to your videos
Hey Sintax, great vid. Too bad about the soaker on that first stream, though, it looked cold. It reminded me of something you might want to try. Years ago I planted trees in northern British Columbia and because we crossed so many streams in a day, we started to (sort of) pole vault over them. Sounds crazy but it works, I promise. You find a decently long pole and then find a narrow spot in the stream where the bank you leave from is higher than the bank you land on. Then you jam the end of the pole between the rocks in the stream bed, take hold of the pole an push off. Your momentum arcs you over the stream in a way that better resembles a controlled fall than proper athletic vaulting. Works like a charm, keeps the feet dry and it's good fun too.
That trail system is run by Bronson Pinchot, who regularly offers hikers an espresso, which he makes himself in the back. so if he offers you one, don't be stupid,.. take it,.. as it is no trouble.
You're about ready to have fun in the woods the people that left that stuff didn't have so much fun Loved it when you said let's check out the heard path okay good no bodies
I did Pinchot the other direction last year, planning to do that same short cut. The other end is dense swamp, so you made the right decision not to cut through the field! The southern half is harder than the northern, but totally worth it for the waterfall. Definitely go back!
Nice to see you finally get to this one. It's a local trail for me there have been reroutes so that could account for some of the discrepancies with the mileage. I just hiked here earlier in the week and that 1st campsite still has that junk there. I'm glad you shared it we can get it cleaned up I assumed it was more recent. Glad you didn't get to messed up on that crossing. Thanks for taking us along definitely go back to finish it out there are some fantastic campsites on the south loop and the choke creek falls are more impressive in person.
Another great hiking video! Loved the pizza and burgers. They looked really good. There's nothing better than food cooked over a wood fire. Glad you did not hurt yourself too badly when you fell!
Memories has kids we use to ta m e those whirly gigs peel back take out the seeds ,the st I cky substance on the inside spread and stick them to our nose ,make Pinocchio. Noses ha ha haa😂.thanks for the memories enjoy !!!
Using the same gear doesn’t bother me a bit. If you’re comfortable with it that’s what’s up. Maybe a little gadget here and there would be cool. I’m half way through and digging it. I like how you don’t edit certain things. It’s easy to get hurt wet etc. makes you think.
No ultralight for this trip, but the burger and pizza made up for it. 😀 My backpacking trips are similar to yours. Late start on the trail and wet feet are almost a must for us. 🤣
Personally, I like the hammock loadout every time. I am interested in hannock camping and not at all interested in tent camping, so these past 4 videos have been even more interesting than normal videos to me.
Hope your hip is feeling better. Isn't it typical for hikers to dial in their gear, and not change it out, until the next season? Thanks for taking us on the adventure. Take care.
Have you followed Scott Benefroe’s south bound of the AT ? I think he’s a young man after your own heart. Started his hike in the dead of winter and went through the whites and New England in brutal conditions. As I followed his vlogI thought of some of your winter adventures . If you haven’t checked him out you might enjoy it. Thanks for opening North Central PA hiking to me. I’ve had many adventures since I’ve been watching your videos for recon. Your efforts over the years have been much appreciated
I’ve been following you and ur dads videos for about 10 years now. I know ur camp is within 2 hours of mine. You should check out the allegheny national Forest. It’s pretty great man.
Thanks for posting this trip. I recently got the pskook pocket bellows...love it. The 2 bellows can be used alone or fitted together for about 2-3 feet of bellows...tested with wet wood and got a fire going faster and without sticking my face into the pit. Love them for under ten bucks. Needed this gear years ago. What brand is yours?
It's a nice trail, but the amount of trash left behind is absolutely staggering. At the top of choke creek falls there is a literal landfill worth of trash left from parties. It is a real shame because it is a gorgeous area 🙄
When you said you were gonna make an Indian pizza I thought you meant paneer pizza or tandoori chicken pizza not just naan and cheese lol 🤦🏽 idk if they have those pizzas in your neck of the woods but up here in Canada they’re a staple in most pizza places now.
I hate the cold. I'm tired or watching people camping and hiking in the cold. Done. Hope you enjoyed the torture. Let me know when you get nice weather. LOL.
Also my good man with all of your backpack that you have I would love to see you grab your ula ohm 2.0 or something within around the 35ish 40ish backpacks that you have nothing bigger than that is mostly required and do a little bike packing trip something small just around wherever it is that you live that's very close in the woods Very simple like an out and back no big loops required just like to see you do one trip and see how you do it like I said you don't need to get all these new bags and everything else for something you're not going to need to do but once so you have all the bags you need just need to pick one just not big blue that's too big like I said 40ish liter
When life hands you below freezing temps... you make multiple pizzas, obviously. ;)

Cool beans 😎 thanks
OUCH!!! I know that you could edit out your slip crossing the stream, but thanks for sharing it with us so we know that even the most experienced hikers can slip once in a while.
Nothing more entertaining than Shawn making a fire. I'm in!
Cheeseburgers, pizza, and sleeping in. That's a successful trip (minus the fall).
Honestly, nothing sounds better than you saying "It's cheeseburger time" at the end of your video! Love how adaptable you are at making fires ~ love the pizza oven! 😂🥰😎
Having that end of trip tradition is something to look forward to. Buddies and I always go for a local pizza joint after every hike
I got the same can opener from my mom years ago. I keep it in my first aid kit and I finally had to break it out this weekend camping when we made a peach cobbler.

We will attribute your very late wake up on day 3 to a pizza coma! Another great hike and camping video. Thanks!
Haha, yes - that's probably exactly what it was 😂

Enjoyed. Especially the pizza with NJ PIZZA SAUCE. BOOM. CHICAGO PIZZA BOY HERE.
I love watching you have a great time in the woods
So glad you’re doing well you had fun
Oh man this video didn't hit my notifications I was just scrolling through which video I wanted to rewatch and what a surprise!
Hey Sintax, OOPSIE 😬 somehow I hit the send button before I got to actually comment "ugh" lol but I hope you're doing well.

Lol your great uncle looks just like your pops!
sintax!! Like clock work. My girl and I return from a white mountain trip. You have a new video! It's great you've been at it monthly ish !! We look forward to your videos
That sounds absolutely delicious. Fire roasted pizza. Gourmet.

Cut the trip in half and come back. No problem. Fun trip. Spring has sprung.

Finally get to watch him eating a burger. Would love to see a photo of the cheeseburger at the end of the film. Just for closure 😂
You're about ready to have fun in the woods the people that left that stuff didn't have so much fun
Loved it when you said let's check out the heard path okay good no bodies
Best line of the video...."No bodies...."
Yes, big fan of the hammock camping 👍
Ahhh. And now the great pizza debate: pepperonis on top of or under the shredded cheese!
I did Pinchot the other direction last year, planning to do that same short cut. The other end is dense swamp, so you made the right decision not to cut through the field! The southern half is harder than the northern, but totally worth it for the waterfall. Definitely go back!
Really enjoyed this hike .... "Thanks" for taking us along .....
Such a great trail, highly recommend it for anyone in PA! Great beginner trail too, not too rough. Wear long pants, it can be overgrown in the Summer!
Nice looking cheeseburger, thanks for the view, yum.
Too funny, your voice when you took a bite of the hot pizza.
A new Sintax77 vidjer! The "No bodies!" exclamation and side look cracked me up.

Where's the Dinty More stew, cooked Hobo style in the can over wood fire. You inspire us!
Get yourself a piece of tiny narrow bike inner tube slide your P38 into it . Protects it 👍 great video
That stuff at the beginning of the trail has been there for quite sometime. Last April I did it and the same stuff was there 😂
You have the best adventures! Hope your hip and the burned mouth are ok!
Thanks for finally letting us see you get that ever so elosiv cheese burger . Nice man it looks cold out there .
Great call on the pizza!
most excellent pizza hutch/oven!
Another great hiking video! Loved the pizza and burgers. They looked really good. There's nothing better than food cooked over a wood fire. Glad you did not hurt yourself too badly when you fell!
Watching this video and to my right I see a Sintax video from 10 years ago 3 days on the Appalachian trail in Pa, wow it’s been that long
Great video Shawn. That pizza 🍕 looked delicious.
This is awesome, you are about 20 mins from where I live in the Wilkes-Barre area!!
“Typically the cheeseburger happens after the video is over… so I don’t know what to tell ya about that” 🤣🤣🤣
Memories has kids we use to ta m e those whirly gigs peel back take out the seeds ,the st I cky substance on the inside spread and stick them to our nose ,make Pinocchio. Noses ha ha haa😂.thanks for the memories enjoy !!!

Been subbed and watching your videos since 2015
I'm doing the lost Turkey trail next weekend. 26 mile. Great 2 day trip.
Worked at a pizza place in DE back in the ‘80s. Remember that pizza sauce well!
I do Naan bread pizza at home all the time. I'm sure the wood fire hearth took it up a notch.
No ultralight for this trip, but the burger and pizza made up for it. 😀 My backpacking trips are similar to yours. Late start on the trail and wet feet are almost a must for us. 🤣
This was my kind of trip!
Thank you 💗💕😊
You found a bushcraft campsite. The tripod used for cooking. Someone must return to that spot from time to time.
The beginning music always reminds me when you get off the train in Half Life 2, another great vid.
Watch out for river rock- they can explode. Had it happen once. Scary.
Thanks Sintax 👊
great job
You could always show the post trip cheeseburger as a still picture during the credits.
Love this
Awesome

I hadn't heard of him yet, but that sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the heads up and enjoy PA!
You should of tried White Haven Diner after you hike, they make the "Hubcap burger" there
I’ve been following you and ur dads videos for about 10 years now. I know ur camp is within 2 hours of mine. You should check out the allegheny national Forest. It’s pretty great man.
Pizza truly the survival food of the gods
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Your great uncle looks like your dad!
This is just a great video.
Love those meals.
All the best sintax77.
Thanks for posting this trip. I recently got the pskook pocket bellows...love it. Early cheeseburger time in this one!
That is my favorite pizza sauce. It is yummy.
Hey Syntax
Windy, rainy, bleccch.
Cheeseburger time is just a catchphrase at this point.
you never use a stick for your hikes?
it saves knees and energy
Would have come in very handy for that water crossing!
Why you didn't sign in. That's part of the fun sintax 77
The great grate ala Matthew Posa
26:55 It's cheeseburger time!
What's that noise? Sounds like wind but I don't see the trees moving..
Shawn my dumb finger hit the dislike button instead of the like button by mistake but i fixed it and hit the like button!😁👍🏼
Was there some bleeping at about 21 min? And some wet feet😂
Cheese burger accomplished! Nice
wow your Uncle Anthony looks like your Dad... that was crazy
So... how the hip?
Sintax got a soaker!
lol it was cheesburger time before the end of the trip
It's a nice trail, but the amount of trash left behind is absolutely staggering. At the top of choke creek falls there is a literal landfill worth of trash left from parties. It is a real shame because it is a gorgeous area 🙄
People are pigs
Slipping into the creek that does not bode well and winter time it's even worse at least you made it out to make this video
Looked like you used the same clip as taking you backpack off but in reverse when you put your backpack back on.
Mad props on the pizza in the woods thing.
I would gave just brought a bag of potatoes and some steaks
Cheers man.
Cooking with real fire looks better somehow
Did you eat a cheeseburger afterwards?
When you said you were gonna make an Indian pizza I thought you meant paneer pizza or tandoori chicken pizza not just naan and cheese lol 🤦🏽 idk if they have those pizzas in your neck of the woods but up here in Canada they’re a staple in most pizza places now.
Your uncle is Anthony Kiedis?
I hate the cold. I'm tired or watching people camping and hiking in the cold. Done. Hope you enjoyed the torture. Let me know when you get nice weather. LOL.
Also my good man with all of your backpack that you have
I would love to see you grab your ula ohm 2.0 or something within around the 35ish 40ish backpacks that you have nothing bigger than that is mostly required and do a little bike packing trip something small just around wherever it is that you live that's very close in the woods
Very simple like an out and back no big loops required just like to see you do one trip and see how you do it like I said you don't need to get all these new bags and everything else for something you're not going to need to do but once so you have all the bags you need just need to pick one just not big blue that's too big like I said 40ish liter
I've always been pretty intrigued by the bike packing thing. Thanks for the info and inspiration! Maybe some day :)
