    I've visited this tutorial many times. Today, I went about recreating this form and ran into trouble. Gravity Forms now has removed performing the merge tag functions even if the 'required' option is checked. There is a free plugin called Gravity Wiz. You install/activate it and look in the merge tags and there, suddenly, is all you need. So excellent! Saved it!

    I came here looking for a tutorial on creating a job application, but learned so many tools that even though it wasn't for an application, it will still fit my needs! Thank you Kori!

    Been trying to figure out a way to do this without buying a ton of other plugins that cost out the butt. I'm building a game directory website and so many WP directory plugins don't utilize the power of GF!
    You just showed me how I can style a published form front end and display without using anything but GF.
    You are amazing and a life saver!

    Can you create an order form that has a set-up cost (initial payment) and also a recurring (subscription) payment.
    eg. $110 set-up cost (which is actually $60 set-up cost + $50 first month) and $50 per month there after.
    Total: $110.00
    + $50.00 p/m after
    I am using Eway add on as my payment gateway

    Love the video Kori, watched the series and very informative. I would like to know though is it possible you set it so that you have an apply for this job button at the bottom of the created post and when you click that it takes you to another form you fill in which is linked to the first one if that makes sense so that you can track who applies for the job?

    • @stephencooper3280
      @stephencooper3280 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WebTegrity Great thinking regards keeping them on the page, maybe adding a logic that they need to be logged in to apply? I'm modifying the job board idea and making it people needing a service, like mybuilder.com. The idea is that ideally I want people to offer to do the service and go on a shortlist for the customer to choose from.

      +WebTegrity Hi Kori, I'm struggling a little with getting a form to be at the bottom of the job listing. I presume you insert the form in the body section but do you need to create a separate form and then link to this in the body section? Also how to get it that when someone fills in the application that it pulls the email from the user who posted the job?

    • @stephencooper3280
      @stephencooper3280 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +WebTegrity Thanks for the reply. Yeah I will require the form to be on every user-generated listing. The stumbling block I have is I can get the user to submit their email in form 1 but can I dynamically link to that email in form 2 submission button?

    • @stephencooper3280

    I have one question for it.
    I want to know how you create a page which shows your posts, also with category selection! Like yours starting from 14:36
    Do you user any third party plugin?
    thanks!

    I know this is an old video but I had a question for you. I already am using WP Job Manager and Jobify theme for my Job Board site and was wondering if there was a way to use Gravity Forms to create a "resume" for job applicants? I want my applicants to fill out a "Resume" form and then when an employer has selected the "Apply Now" button to be a redirect to their email, my applicants "Resume" will automatically be emailed to the employer. WP Job Manager has a Resume Extension that already does this but it is extremely limited. The form builder is terrible and doesn't allow conditional logic and the form layout just looks unprofessional. When a job applicant comes to my site, I want them to feel like my company actually cares about them. So I want a form that is going to do 2 things. One, be aesthetically pleasing. Two, only show relevant information so they are not scared away. I have a lot of fields that I do not want to appear if each job applicant isn't going to touch them anyways. I hope this made sense, but now I am working day and night to get this website done for my customers. I made the mistake of hiring a WordPress developer who obviously didn't know what they were doing so I had to fire the firm to do it myself and get it done soon. The rest of the website is done, it's just trying to get the forms done and get them to work together to create a simple and easy process for both, the job applicants, and the employers.

    Kori, I'm trying to visualize the flow of using this. Is the author of the post able to edit their post? What happens to call the form back for them to edit? I guess I'm wondering where the form lives for their repeated use. How do they 'find' it again? As the user role, do they have to be 'author'? I'm wanting 'worker' and 'employer' so that both sides of the jobs coin can post.

    • @KoriAshton
      @KoriAshton  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Linda - There's not really a way to use Gravity forms for them to edit an existing listing. You'd need to create a new user (limited role) if they submit their info along with the listing. Then they could "log in" the website to access only their posts.

      @@linda_sue Sure thing. This use for Gravity Forms is very limited when we're thinking about a "full-featured" job board plugin. But it would work in a general way.

    The tutorial is simply great.. and thanks for your efforts.. BUT Im disappointed... On seeing your caption, I thought you will be showing how to set a Job Portal with Gravity form. and I was curiously watching to see how you are setting the dash board of Job seekers, and Job Vendors with Gravity form so that both can manage their posting, and its not there in.. Im searching for to see is that functionality is Possible with Gravity form or not..

    Great video, Kori! I'd like to set up something similar as a searchable membership resources list, e.g. if they are looking for one of our members listed who can build a website or edit their writing, etc. I was going to use TablePress, but I keep getting an error message on my test page (cannot reinitialise Data Table), and anyway, your tutorial makes it look like using our Gravity Forms might be the better route. Any suggestions on how to set it up so the viewer sees a listing that is searchable? Am I wrong to think the entries would only be vertically stacked just as blog posts display? Here's the test page to get an idea of what we are trying to create: redwoodwriters.org/member-professional-services/
    Thanks for your help and all the great tutorials!

      @Kori Ashton Well, it initially it mostly worked... The Job Title does not become the "Title" for the post. I did not use the suggested Gravity Wiz.
      So, I went into the Job Title "post field" and unclicked the "create content template" and the clicked the "create content template" and it seems to have worked to create the post properly.

      @@KoriAshton I had to abandon the effort. There was a link that was merging 2 different categories that kept showing the jobboad entries and the entry summaries didn't look right (title centered etc). I think we are going to use JobBoardWP .. we are running membership and want members to be able to post their jobs.
      Perhaps if I were a bit more css savvy. Thanks so much for the video.👍
