More than anything, Kratos entire arc in this game was incredibly well done. Bravo to Santa Monica for making us take part in his long journey.
Christopher Judge deserves all his flowers for his performance as Kratos. One of the greatest acting performances I have ever seen in any media

I thought the whole sequence with the boss battle with Angrbodas grandma is one of the coolest ive played in a game ever. Loved that whole bit

God of war 2018 is one of the few games that my home full of gamers with various taste come in agreement to love. Me and my wonderful wife are looking to spend our anniversary coming up playing ragnorok.
I knew you'd be balling by the end of this game. Epitome of awesome character arcs for Kratos.
It's one of the best storylines I have ever seen in my life.

I actually think all of the God of War games (side entries included) are at the very least 9/10 experiences. With Ragnarok, Santa Monica continues this franchise's streak of consistent homeruns.

Such a great review Cody! I platinumed it in my first week on Give Me No Mercy! The, Story, Bosses and best side missions over! The three things I didn’t absolutely loved are the Map, The longass Jotenhiem part and the somehow rushed final war!

This game rocks, I'm 15 and find more fun in the original trilogy and 2018 than any other game released in the last year, this is actually probably my favorite since The Last of Us, Hi Cody 👋
I thought the same about the hints during puzzles. I wanted to figure it out myself and then right before I was putting it together they just tell me and I was like “oh thanks I guess”. A good middle ground would’ve been the Uncharted route where if you are taking a really long time and are stuck. They could have an optional hint prompt if you want it instead of them just automatically blurting it out

Yes the compass is frustrating especially in Vanaheim, vanaheim was annoying as hell to navigate when trying to 100%. My only gripe with this masterpiece of a game.
Absolutely loved this game, it’s a masterpiece in my book & definitely my GOTY Without question, my only issue really is the same as Kody, everytime I played as Atreus I was just counting down to getting back to Kratos but that one section did go on waaaay longer then It needed be, I mean getting information was important but riding the Yak everywhere was like I get it can we move on already.
Loved this game, definitely my game of the year but I haven’t played a whole lot this year. Hopefully they’ll release the new game plus with this too.

I wonder if they patched that compass already cuz I didn’t notice it in my play through . I agree on the crucible challenges, it did probably take me about 2 hours to complete but it also unlocks the best Armor in the game in my opinion so it was all worth it lol

The side boss battles in particular the berserker boss battles are way more difficult than the Valkyries in the first game
Finished the main story & now doing the side quests. It's crazy each time I finish a side quest I find another to do. The game has plenty of content
Yeah it's massive. I did all the side quests throughout the game and there was still a few hours of things to do after completing the story.
@@CLGameChamber I'm 38 hrs in but still have a lot of side quests to do, I was real eager to find out what happened with the main story so kept playing it & ended up saving side quests for last. Definitely game of the year

Game is so good. Haven't finished it yet but been amazing. Best story and gameplay is amazing. Side quest are great but can throw off the pacing. My game of the year and can't believe it taken elden ring's spot. Great review.
I was tempted to buy the ps5 god of war bundle on black Friday but decided not too because I don't have space to have a ps5, maybe one day I'll get it, but for now I'll just watch let's plays and my personal game of the year is Bayonetta 3

Great game I’m an og fan been waiting since 2010 for a new and fleshed out game and 2018 and Ragnarok definitely delivered my only gripe was that there were a lot of Norse gods that were crucial to the mythology and Ragnarok that weren’t included in the story for instance did you know that Odin has two brothers my other gripe is that I wish Thor had more screen time in the story he is my favorite character and I wanted to see more of him the ending seemed rushed
Verdict: 10/10, GOTY
I think the story of 2018 is simpler and more emotional. BUT I love the enhanced combat, enemy varieties, more boss battles, and MUCH better side quests. Thor and Odin were great, the complexities of the stories are wonderful, and it’s enough to make a grown man cry. The music is also still awesome. No spoilers, but in retrospect some characters and story threads should have been left out. This was originally gonna be a trilogy, and it shouldn’t have just been 2 games.
I never played these before..started playing 2018 a few weeks ago because my son and I want this one. Well i got very far but somehow when my son went to start a game he over wrote my entire game because of the autosave or something that read on Google as to why we couldn't have 2 separate saved games. Well I don't feel like doing that all again. Do I need to though before I get this game?

For me I prefer the last 2 god of war games over the last of us yes they are completely different genres but in terms of PlayStation exclusives this series is the best of the best.
Elden Ring was my GOTY so I’m happy it won. Ragnarok was great though.

While I did absolutely love this game, dying when doing a runic attack got insanely annoying.
The compass is useless!!!! But wont be patched. It was same way in 2018

@@CLGameChamber Looking forward to Calisto as well. The game is going to be 🔥. Gotham knights was mid tbh & I loved the Arkham games so lower your expectations if you do try it out. Also check out The Chant I thought it was a surprisingly good horror game. Currently playing Evil West right now & having a blast. Silly story but very fun.

Elden Ring while slightly overrated deserves game of the year more than this game. Elden Ring is such a unique experience especially on first play-through. GOWR has way too many cutscenes and moments of walking around while listening to in-game dialogue. I feel like I’m watching a movie at times.
Agreed. I liked Ragnarok quite a bit(Not as much as 2018) but it is a solid sequel nonetheless. Elden Ring is God tier imo. A generation defying game. I platinum trophied both but It isn't even a contest. Right now God of War Ragnarok & Plague Tale Requiem are fighting for my # 2 spot but Calisto Protocol could surprise & snatch it away from both of them as I'm a huge Dead Space fan & it's made by it's creator so I'm expecting 🔥

I ❤️ this game. Im only 30 hrs in haven't beaten main story yet, but i hated HATED being forced to play as Atreus not once not twice but multiple times!!!! Wtf!!!! I buy God of war to BE THE GOD OF WAR!!! Not his son!!!!!! I felt this game was way more easy than 2018
I played half of GOW 2018 on ps5 but got bored if it. Certainly not Interested in playing Ragnorok. I can't wait for the callisto protocol tomorrow. For me you cannot beat The Last of us games.
Eh didn’t really like 2018 and I’ve skipped this one, just isn’t for me I am a huge fan of the previous games more archaic style this new modern story just feels like Last of Us lite.

Dunno if this has been brought up, the mixed on the having to regain runes and stuff, near the start mimir has a throwaway line like fimbulwinter having drained all there magic items, its a bit blink and youll miss it but i think that was the oh this is why your having to collect all this shit again. I mean i get it but yeah its kind of annoying especially when some of them are the literal exact same rune

Actually the game didn't wow me as much as I thought it would. I thought that it was a pretty good game, but when that's said there is one major issue that I just cant get pass. I think it sucks majorly that you don't get to wield Mjolnir in the game.
Kind of a non issue since it was never promised you could wield it.
And the Leviathan Axe is basically Mjolnir with ice

Hated to play as Atreus!! Why did they do this its GOD OF WAR and I want to be KRATOS! Such a dumb choice they did there.
The original trilogy is better than this. It was a different time for videogames but it was perfect for Greek mythology and a made-up additional character.
God of War Regnock Is the best Videogame of all time with acting.
