Really interesting approach, imagine if this was matched with a full leather moccasin upper. It could be so interesting and comfortable. Love that this is coming from a place of innovation rather than cheapness - I think that they will get to interesting places.
I 100% don't think 3d printed shoes should be the final products, but maybe create lase and make it easy to create customized shoe with less work and more accurate
I'm all for technological advancement, but I'd like to see 3d printing used to create lasts for traditional leather shoemaking. No clue why this hasn't taken off more.
I've seen people on Reddit who make their own shoes and boots using a 3D printed last. I have seen a video of someone on TH-cam also using a 3D printed last as well for making a pair of boots. And yes it should be done more.
Until they can make a 3d printed shoe that doesn't look like something that would be advertised in Reader's Digest or Parade magazine, I'm not interested.
Interesting concept, but I'm still not comfortable with the idea of squeezing bespoke orthopedic shoe-makers and cobblers further out of the market than they already are.

I am absolutely interested. First 3D printed shoe that doesn't look like nonsense
Uhhhhhh we looking at the same thing?
Adidas Climacool 24 shoes were 100% 3D printed and they're selling shoes with 3D printed midsoles right now.
This is just the beginning. This tech will grow with differential densities and multiple materials and colors.

I wonder how they react to inserts. I have no arch at all and it’s a major issue to find shoes that are roomy enough for the extra height.
you shouldn't need an insert if its crafted to your foot
@axelskull no way the iPhone scan is anywhere close to accurate enough. I use 3d scanner to create stl files. And that just cap.
@@bleb87 newest iPhone 3d scanner is better than some random hobby scanner
0/10, no leather insole, no leather heel lock, no leather false toe, no heritage construction, completely synthetic materials 😡
when they come out with 3d printed leather we'll give you a call

Use that technique combined with a proper boot, maybe. Like a whole foot insole.
WTF it's not April 1st yet.

Ideally, orthopedic shoe-makers and cobblers use 3D printing to make their products more accessible. There's a lot of room to meet in the middle.
Yeah they could just offer this as a quicker less nice looking option

$260.00 for an entirely foam shoe... I don't think so.
