- These are 2 unique versatile New Look tops that are very stylish and chic.
New Look N6601 - wrap tops. Views include sleeveless, 3/4 sleeves and short sleeves with or without hem pleats. Choice of asymmetrical wrap style with ties, or a view with button closures. I made View A with the short pleated sleeves in View D.
New Look N6602 - easy dresses in two lengths, plus a tunic and pants. I made the tunic in View C.
I also model lounge pants from Vogue V1835 View C without the pockets/without drawstring.

Incredible makes again. Like them both. My favourite is the one with the fancy closures. You always make your clothes with upscale accessories. I passed on this pattern originally because I didn’t like the lay on the pattern, but you did such a better job on it. Really dressed it up. And an apple crisp would be perfect with your coffee. Dale, I'm so glad you like that iron. I LOVE IT! Just keep it clean and empty it every night and it will last a long time. I love the sole plate. So smooth. And it steams up really well. Also, as you press the button for the cord to retract, hold the cord with your other hand and it will retract easily everytime. Hope you have a FANTASTIC weekend too!!!!!

Both lovely tops. I love the side closures you used. I'm glad you made the tunic fit. I made that several years ago and never was able to get it to work. The neck was just too high and uncomfortable. You did well to get it to look so great.
Yes, that neckline was challenging to fit. It was gaping in the back and that cotton sateen facing is pretty thick. I just unpicked the back and cut through the facing. And resewed it to fit. Not fun but it works. The neckline is a little high though. I'm still going to wear it. Thanks so much!
Nice top (the rust colored one)! Really like the fasteners you used instead of buttons. The snap at the hem of the top was great idea! Your yellow tunic is beautiful; very pretty fabric. Looks great paired with your white jeggings. Can't wait to see your Thursday video. 🥰

New Look 6601 is not too hard to put together. I just found the MOST challenging part is lining up the closures to sew on. Tricky. Also, I lengthened the Front and Back by 1 inch for a more convenient fit. I will continue to post sales on my Community page as I become aware of them. Burda was a surprise. I love your videos. I have two of the patterns and after watching your video I plan to make the New Look tunic. I also have the same yellow and white fabric. I didn’t know what I wanted to make with that fabric because I thought it was too heavy for a blouse. But thanks to you I now know it would be great as a tunic. I just want to let you know Sharon, that yellow abstract fabric is a little heavy for the tunic. It worked out but I had a hard time getting the neckline to fit. I think I would use a more medium weight cotton or lighter weight cotton blend sateen next time. Thanks for watching. See you on Thursday! 🥰🥰🥰

I have been working on that NL6601 top with the poofy sleeves and I like your idea of adding the snaps. When I get to that point I will add them as I like the bottom of them to match evenly. I also have that tunic pattern but have not found a fabric or color I like yet to make it. I will definitely watch your video next week😊sounds like it’s going to be fun🎉

Yes, that fixed the gaping but be careful because it raised the front neckline.
I think I’ll lower the neckline in the pattern cutting, should work I hope

I made the wrap top; the asymmetrical wrap version and found the neckline way too wide and low. After three muslins, I finally got it to fit. Did you find the neckline too low or wide? I added a snap on the inside of the inside wrap to hold it in place as well.

I did not alter the size for N6601 and I made the neckline fit just right with the snaps and the side closures. It took a bit of maneuvering to have it lay just right. I found the neckline for the tunic N6602 to gape in the back so I needed to unpick the back seam and cut the facing and bring it in and resew it by 5/8 inch. Hope that helps. If you need further information you can send me an email.
After making the New Look dress, I found it to be very loose fitting and the neckline gaped, as you noted. I also felt the neckline was too high. Am making a second muslin now!

I love the cross over top but too low, can it be raised? Kind of newer to sewing clothes
I cut a size 16 and my bust is 40 inches and it wasn't too low with the snap.
