Kapustin's music is so damn exciting! A highly underrated composer! I'd love to hear more of his works performed at competitions and concerts, and I think audiences would enjoy it too! 💯
Я разговаривала с пианистом Николаем Луганским на эту тему... он ответил, что музыка сложная.. вот и все! Поэтому мало исполняют в концертах.. мало пианистов, кто вообще может это хорощо сыграть) я дочь Капустина, Мария..
@@marikap2 I'm sure you're very proud of your father, and with every justification! I'll confess I hadn't heard any of his compositions until I was watching Yeol Eum Son in one of the earlier rounds of the 2011 Tchaikovsky piano competition, where she included his Variations Op.41, and I was blown away, not only by the music but by her performance. Ever since that day I've been a fan, and have sent 'links' to several friends, who have all been very impressed. Thanks to your father for all the pleasure he's given to so many people. 🙏
Capolavoro assoluto del maestro Kapustin decisamente migliore della prima sonata molto bello il largo energico e dispendioso il finale qualità eccellente
Kapustin is as much a master of melody as Chopin, Mozart, Schubert and Rachmaninov - just a different kind. Chopin, Schubert and Rachmaninov were masters of lyricisms; Mozart was great at simple yet catchy little jingles (the “king of the jingle”); while Kapustin is a lord of those juicy catchy tunes that you can’t help but tap your foot to. It’s a different kind of melodic mastery but valid nonetheless.
Hey! Thanks for this, I’ve been wanting a score video of Kapustin’s second sonata for years. If I might make a request for a future video, could you upload his 24 Preludes and Fugues Op. 82?
I like how at “attaca” Hindemith joins the party, but then Kapustin starts jazzin

Kapustin is in my eyes the last great impressionist, he captures the essence of the state of the world both outside and inside of the past century
