So in love with Kapustin music which is the best piano jazz music I've ever heard. All the atonal harmony and rhythms are incomparable and so inspiring to listen to!

Отличный концерт. Современное произведение. Написано с хорошим ритмом, с позитивом и прекрасным настроением, отличной скоростью и умением наслаждаться красотой жизни. Автор - Николай Капустин - Молодец!
19:22 The A theme from the rondo-finale played by the strings is so badass. And the raillery-like transition between 20:10 to 20:32 is so thrilling! This finale is the best I've heard from a piano concerto that was composed towards the end of the 20th century.
16:15 before theme turns, a dreamy melody is shortly heard like Scriabin's mystic chords. Although it's only for a moment, this part makes me fall into a deeper appreciation.
Could you tell me where this score comes from? Because there are many wrong notes and the layout seems amateur, although I know many Kapustin's scores have wrong notes...
I was going to use this video to learn this piece, but then I found out that the sheet music in the video is completely wrong. There are wrong notes in every measure that I've tried to learn so far, it's unbelievable...
Trust Europeans when they perform such technically demanding masterpieces. Never Americans. All they know is pizza, burgers, high fiving each other, Fahrenheit, baseball, basketball, walking around Paris and Rome in shorts, tennis shoes and white socks
So dissapointing that the other score video of this work, with the recording by Ludmil Angelov has been privated. That recording is still in my opinion far better, despite the poorer sound quality. Luckily you can still find it on youtube, on Angelov's own TH-cam channel spread across two videos, but it's now much more hidden. I find Dupree to be too fast for me personally.
The playing, while technically perfect, is a bit too robotic for my liking, almost like a computer's playing it, but it's nice to hear a professional recording of this nonetheless!
You might want to check for another composer then, since if you ever heard Kapustin play his own compositions you would know this is the most correct way to play his concerto.

This entire concerto is incredible but the rondo in the last 5 minutes is genuinely some of the best music ive ever heard
Didn’t know seals had such good taste in music
thx for introducing me to this masterpiece seal
This ius truly one of the concertos of all time
I would be genuinely sobbing with joy if I ever got the opportunity to hear this live
The Lewisville Lake Symphony in Lewisville, Texas is performing this piece January 31st!
I think it's a tragedy that this mans work isn't part of the repertoire of all major concert halls throughout the world
One of the greatest 20th century piano concertos in the repertoire. Convince me otherwise
best piano concerto written after 1930 imo
Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concerto is untouchable. nothings close, at least in the early part of the 20th. Convince me otherwise
4:22
the seamless flute to clarinet transition here is pretty cool
Haha nicely spoted
I guess the same thing he does in his second concerto
The first time I listened to it I was like "what transition? Isn't it all one instrument?" haha
It seems they share a few notes in unison in the middle of the transition

Atonal?
there’s definitely some nonfunctional stuff in there, but yeah personally wouldn’t describe it as atonal
Check his sonatas no 3, 4 and 5 for more "atonal" stuff 😊

I would love to see the expression on Gershwins face as he listens to this masterpiece.
Fun fact: In his biography, Kapustin said he hated comparisons with Gershwin, he didn't hold him in high regard at all.
