That's what I've found. When I tell people to try it I get the same replies, " I don't what the bullet to stick if I have to extract a loaded round " 😄 Just put together a dummy round and keep seating it out further until it sticks and stay away from that area. You'll more than likely find a happy spot way before you even get close to jam. I start at .003" in and move in .003" at a time. I usually find what it likes by .012" in. Then I'll test jumping the bullet the same way. Thanks for the video!

    I hunt (varmint)...so I jump...don't want bullet I can't extract ..is my concern...maybe 10thou will extract... shooting 17 cal, 20 cal.
    Food for thought ..
Maybe if I increased seating lenght to chase the lans, improved results..
I guess you use Hornady oal gauge to find where lans erroded to?
    Thanks for posting and sharing..

Looking at your image at 15:05 it appears that only the top half of the neck is in contact with the bullet when seated. Maybe even a touch less than half. That's wild, but it appears to work for ya. I'd be concerned with reduced concentricity though. It seems you'd want to at least 3/4th of the neck in contact with the bullet, but what do I know. lol.

Do you jam the .010 “right off the hop when doing your powder charge ladder to find your nodes ?

      I don't consider +.010 a jam, but yes I do.

    find the base to lands then start @ jam , +5k , +10k , +15k , +20k and then +25k five shot groups 6 times each
that's how you find the best seating depth

.2435 or .2440 on the freebore diameter?

What about pressure spikes. I've long heard that loading round into the lands without any jump at all creates unsafe pressure spikes. How can you prevent that by loading into the lands?

I’ve never had any evidence of unsafe pressure spikes after shooting many many thousands of rounds jammed into the lands as described in the video. The only time I get evidence of high pressure is when I use a hot load for the ambient temperature and the high pressure is due to too much powder for the temperature.

The old BR trick was to run near zero neck tension, with necks turned to fit tight in the throat. The bullets weren't fully seated until you closed the bolt. If you had to take a round out, you either ran a rod down the barrel or cleaned powder out of the action.

Keep barrel clean and you won’t have pressure spikes

      No such thing

The only pressure you may run into is if you already developed a hot load say .020 jump and then decide to suddenly jam them and fire them. I always start at jam when testing velocity in lower charges and work my way up.
