I have no words…All I knew was Georgy Girl and decided years and years later to look more into their music. As they say… Better Late than Never. The Seekers and every solo release Judith Durham has ever done is in my Mind, Heart, & Soul. She is the True Voice of an Angel. I am gutted over her passing and love her with All My Heart along with the rest of the world who truly know Everything about The Seekers and Judith’s life. This performance of The Bush Girl is Gorgeous. There are only a handful of bands that even come close to this Stellar caliber.
Best female voice of all time. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again-when it comes to female singers there are two categories-there’s Judith and there’s everybody else!!!
Tears from a 75-year old man - from listening to this glorious band - are certainly worth living through all the trials and tribulations of life. Listening to Judith and her men make life worth living

My world stood still when I heard the news a year ago now. And has never been the same since. The world is a sadder place without Judith's unique voice & the boys always there to support her with the music, each with their own individual brilliance & unique harmony.
She lives on through her music and the millions who love and admire her glorious voice, outstanding character and her monumental contributions to her country, her craft and the millions who will never forget her!😊
Unmatched voice. The ability to hit a note, the range, the quality of expression of every type of song, she and her three dear friends will live forever, a part of so many lives.

I was a 14 year old boy in 1965 when The Seekers first came onto the pop music scene and although I loved their music back then I was, like most people, more into the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Now at the age of 69 I absolutely adore them and will do to the day I die. As for Judith Durham I’ll just repeat what just everyone else says. She has a beauty of voice that no-one can match and an equally wonderful singing talent to go with it.
I was never into the Beatles. I was though into Roy Orbison and this group. Also some other groups of that era espeically those unique sounds like Telestar, The House of the Rising Sun.
Was just browsing youtube recently and came across georgy girl and haven’t stopped listening to the seekers. Didn’t like the folk sound but they were and are something different. Their voices blend so well together that it is an amazing experience to behold. Very uplifting on a sullen day🥰
Yes, the late Judith Durham and The Seekers are national treasures and it is good that so many of their fans are scattered around the globe. As I recall the song "The Bush Girl" takes its sad and engaging text from the 19th century Henry Lawson poem of the same name. Australian singer, Shirley Jacobs, put the same lament to song in the 1970s.
Why can't I get enough of Judith Durham and The Seekers today? I've been going from one video to the next. They are just amazing, no matter what age. In fact, they seem to get more amazing the older they get.
It's been 3 months since I last placed a comment about this amazing song, and I have to say that I was so happy to find that it was included on their "Future Road" album which I have since brought. To tell you the truth I think I must have played it almost 100 times by now, it's so captivating a song and sung so very beautifully by Judith, but it's also remarkable for it's wonderful heartfelt romantic lyrics of a sad tale of a young girl which is pure Australian origin. I'd be hard pressed to find any better lyrics than these on any other song. I take my hat off to the composer. but of course at the same time I have to credit the Seekers for finding this poetic gem and turning it into this incredible classic little song which in my opinion is a tad underrated considering a lot of their other very fine songs. Just my opinion...
Judith radiates a lovely glow. Great voice and personality. Of course the 3 lads are so talented and all 4 complement each other. Really good roll models
A group in a million. I am out of adjectives to say what i feel abouth The Seekers. They have been my musical friends for over 50 years now. I actually think they are better now than they were in the sixties. What a shame we all have to get older. I am now 77 and dont have enought time left to get my full fill of them. Bravo The Seekers.
Yes The Seekers are the best group ever...... as is the folk music era of the 50's 60's. We must thank our you tube friends for putting the Seekers and other Folk music out here for us as if they did not it would be hard to find as the radio stations only play what was the big hit by each group or artist. and Folk would probably get lost...... and the Seekers.. well they are just "In A World of Their Own.... that no one else can share...... God bless Them....
What a revelation. I remember Hey There Georgie Girl decades ago. I liked it on the radio; thought she had a sweet voice and it was a catchy tune, but that was it. After listening to this in headphones I think I have a new golden voice to place alongside Karen Carpenter.
Thank you for your comment rich963. I should also like to thank you for providing us with so many videos of The Seekers to listen and enjoy here on TH-cam. I cherish them even more now that my most beloved Judith Durham is no longer with us..
I have loved the Seekers ever since I heard their first record as a teenager when they arrived in England. So that's well over 50 years ago and in the meantime all my children loved them. Now my grandchildren ask me to play the Seekers songs when I visit them where they all now live in South Australia. I will love the Seekers songs as long as I live and hope to enjoy Judith's fabulous voice for many more years yet!
This song is fast becoming one of my favourites having listened to it a good few times now. From the very start of it with Keith and Bruce's excellent guitar playing to the touching sad lyrics that are sung with lovely Judith putting her heart & soul into every word of this beautiful song. I believe it's taken from their "Future Road" album and it's one I definitely want to get my hands on soon. Many thanks rich !!!
Perfect. Great to hear good lyrics sung so you can hear them. A fact that seems to elude young singers in this day and age. And melodies with such feeling too.
Unsurpassed, I'd say. If equaled, maybe it would be by Beverly Bivens (We Five), or Emmylou Harris? Linda Ronstadt? Ronnie Gilbert (The Weavers)? Mary Travers (Peter, Paul, & Mary)? In that stratosphere of talent, it gets hard to rank them, they're all so excellent... Fred
There is a great Australian tradition of bush poetry that continues on to this day and what Bruce has done with Henry Lawson's masterful work is beautifully inspired and Judith solidly nails that spirit with her exquisitely sublime delivery. In a similar vein is Hugh McDonald's ''The Diamantina Drover'' superbly done by both Redgum and John Williamson. Australia is a treasure trove of brilliant music. All one has to do is seek and enjoy. jtk🍁Canada
Love that song i have never heard it before , i to am 74 now and remember them and sang along with all there songs years ago go on forever The Seekers, we love you .

She's always had that.. this group still has great harmony.. reminds me of Abba in that respect.
Truly one of the most classic and beautiful voices, ever. Thanks.
We need more groups like the Seekers and Carpenters. Real music!
Yes, they are similar in some ways, and truly unique in their own special way, soothing and inspiring.

Could you ever get more Aussie than the words of Henry Lawson describing the pioneer's life and sung so beautifully by Judith Durham and the Seekers?
