    Bought a Diesel and it broke down twice times in two years. First the Ad Blu system failed, then the exhaust became backed up and had to be cleaned. It was starting to give trouble for a third time when I got rid of it.

    A very nice car to look at and a vast improvement over the previous model BUT for crying out loud why did they put a virtual cockpit and then deprived it of any "vitual" functionality? Except for the change in theme when you swap driving profiles there is very little that this dashboard does to differentiate it from a standard analogue one!! The instruments left and right do not change to display menus or other useful information. All that is handled by the center piece of the screen which is also lackluster as it displays only basic information just like any other small screen fitted between analogue instruments. There is no option to display the navigation map or similar functionality which is standard in most any other virtual cockpit on the market. So you have a virtual cockpit that mostly behaves like an analogie one and this is a great missed opportunity for Hyundai as it would literally cost them nothing to fully utilize the screen they already replaced the analogue instrument cluster with. A clear lack of imagination there that smears the otherwise very nice job they have done with the center screen. Shame...

    I have an 18 plate Tucson (before the last refresh !). Would I consider this as my upgrade ? Maybe. The price hikes are really off putting. The boot is bigger on these new ones and the tech is better. Not sure about the all in touch screen though but might be ok.
    Not sure which engine to get though and whether hybrid/ mild hybrid would be worth it.

    Great eye-catching futuristic design and tec, unfortunately, to get the best in the tec you have to go to the top model which is expensive. I do think it looks very Lexus or Rav 4. Hyundai Ioniq not great at present, however, that been said the new Ioniq 45 I think has the futuristic look both on the outside and more importantly on the inside. The VW ID3 & ID4 have been designed from the ground up and look very well from the outside but nothing looks futuristic on the inside. I think with Hyundai could steel Toyota's old slogan " the car in front is now Hyundai " Great review and just love the way daytime running lights designed into the front grille.

    I got mine last week Premium 1.6 48v 150hp auto love it!!!!! i chose this over new sportage aswell because i love the exterior looks like futuristic muscle car. i love the side of the car aswell something new and different i like the lines the design is different special, as a previous owner of a nissan boring qashqai, i prefer that looks and hyunday is more reliable better quality interior.
    As for the shiny part of the auto console you can order a really nice cover that doesnt loses the design and looks really beautiful to protect that shiny part of the auto console. 1 word best buy i ever made!! Great review spot on!

  • @akshaypatel3338
    @akshaypatel3338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Nice one! I've ordered it (UK) and will be replacing rear indicator bulbs with LED. If they moved the wiper left it could have wiped a full 180 degrees without looking wrong as it's hidden. Here, all specs have rear vents & blind sport monitoring. Higher specs have 3rd zone climate control, electric tailgate & LED interior lights. Strangely, we get no wireless carplay at all. If we look at some of the new SUVs and especially the fully electric ones, all are being given more futuristic styling (T-ROC, eTron, EQC, Macan etc) just to make them look differentiated from their non-electrified equivalents. So, the styling of this Tucson is of the future and won't be aging any time soon!

      @@stevenbell3346 butchered my last reply editing...went full hybrid 230ps for punchier 0-60, button gear selector, hopefully better resale and yes it’s the last button on the key fob for remote start. That button is blanked out on every other engine option. I found dealers gave me conflicting answers. Bluelink remote start only works on fully electric models in UK. Also went for ultimate. I’m assuming you ordered from a broker or leasing if you haven’t had that confirmed? Did you add the tech pack?

    • @hedydd2
      @hedydd2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Indicators do need to be big and bold. VW are bad at both brake lights and indicators in many ways and my daughter's Qashqai has front indicators that are drowned out by the daytime running lights during daytime. My new Sorento has wapping great big indicators that can't be missed by other traffic both front and back. So it is rather disappointing that the new Tucson has such puny low down back ones and apparently, on lower spec models, pretty puny halogen front candle lights.

    Hi there! to answer your question about the wireless carplay on the bigger models, at 6:29, its because of the built-in navigation system. I was told the reason is so the system doesnt confuse both navi, and usb carplay solve that issue apparently.

    Interesting the different pronunciations of the name. Hyundai should have a worldwide campaign and keep it uniform. The US name sounds best to me "Hyun-DAY...rhymes with Sun-DAY" as per the Super Bowl Commercial on how it should be pronounced. Why? Because this is closest to how it's pronounced in Korean.

    Why LED turn indicators at the back? 1:42
    Here are a couple of possibilities:
    1: Rear-facing LEDs can be too bright at night for the following driver, particularly if you've had Lens Replacement Surgery. Not such a problem for front-facing lights.
    2: Maybe LEDs are not as easy to see from the side? I've noticed the blinkers of some new cars are difficult to see from some angles.
