I recently purchased a 2023 Tucson Hybrid on 12/3/22. I loved the car when I test drove it and watched hours of reviews from TH-cam. One thing that every single review failed to mention, is the issue Hyundai has with their panoramic sunroofs, as well as the small piece of glass inbetween the sunroof and the front windshield. There have been class action lawsuits filed against Hyundai because apparently these pieces of glass like to spontaneously burst. This happened to my 2023 Tucson after just ONE WEEK of driving. Walked out to my car ready to head to work, and noticed this giant crack in the glass, expanding from one end all the way to the other end. Car is back at the dealership right now, allegedly getting fixed at no cost to me. But some of the personal stories I've read online make me hesitant to believe that Hyundai is actually going to cover it. I'll come back with more details once I get an update. But just wanted other buyers to be aware of this common issue. I am not very pleased.

I am from Sweden and I have had my fair share of Volvo cars, but in last 20 years I have driven Toyota, MItsubishi and Honda and never had any problem with them. So it seems to me that brittish motor Journalists have sometthing against korean cars and I don't get it, because they praise european brands despite that they always are the least reliable when you look at consumer satisfaction report tha last 5 years from Europe and the US. I purchased my new Tucson Hybrid with all top level safety features and trim level for 400 000 SEK which equal 39 600 EUR. If I would go for a Volvo XC40 with similar package I would have to pay 60 000 EUR with only 2 year waranty, so no thanks.
@@ninouslachin9434 i am really thinking of buying one and I really struggle to choose between Volvo xc40 and Hyundai Tucson. and even Kia xceed. But after reading what u wrote and being a Swedish u really cleared my mind. Thanks
Why would you not mention the Rav4 in this review in your comparison comments? I would have thought that car would be more of a direct competitor due to similarities - more so than the Volvo XC40.
I bought a base model and love it. The only complaint is the lane departure system goes off allot on narrow road, just hold button in to turn off. and the little petrol needs mores power overtaking.
Seen one pass me the other day so much better looking in the metal and those lights are awesome, great looking interior like the layout and design, they are showing higher end motors how it shud be done, with great tech and space loving the blond spot camera that's a smart idea. Going to be a big seller I think !
Great looking car and I think I am getting used to EV pricing as this seems cheap !. Have always liked the tech in Hyundai's, it just works really well and this seems to carry that on. One of the most interesting and best looking designs in this class IMO.
Good review. Actually one of the nicer looking Hyundais I've seen too. Just my 0.02 but back seat width more important for families than whether a man of 6ft in height will fit in it (I get what you're saying though). Hopefully can get 3 booster seats across the back with isofix points
I need to know what jacket you're wearing! Anyway, I'm a big fan of this Tucson, even the previous model was pretty good and better than anything VW is pumping out. The only design choice I don't like is the detached turn signal and reverse lights from the main taillights.
I’ve bought the hybrid version with all the equipment it can get. Eventually it’s not a sport car, it’s just what you expect from a middle class suv thou love the technology and the Cristal roof my son just loves it. The fuel economy in the city is very good around 18-19 km/l and in highway around 15. Not bad for an suv.
Great review. I think this is, hand down, the best looking sub-compact SUV on the road. You DEFINITELY know what this is in the rear-view mirror with the unique DRLs. Was interested in the PHEV version but might trade in my CX-5 for the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid instead...
@@chicoandthem4n Mazda's are generally good cars. I stick to the regular maintenance schedule at the dealership and never miss oil changes. My CX5 is the last year of the previous body style so the tech is severely lacking, the seat warmers are SLOW in the winter, the air conditioner is not as cold as I'd like it and there are squeaks and rattles coming from the rear trunk door. It's rated at 187 hp but it feels ~20 to 30 hp shy of where I'd like it and the fuel efficiency is just average. The lack of HP is the main reason why I'm likely trading it in for the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid (227 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque) with close to 40mpgs so it's the best of both worlds. Also, I really like the styling of the new Tucson - but it's subjective. This will serve as my electrification bridge until I switch to full EVs but that's just me. I think the CX5 is a bit overpriced these days imo..rather spend a bit more and get the Tucson Hybrid. Definitely test drive both. Good luck!
The fuel economy is disappointing, considering I get 45mpg out of my Peugeot 4007 on out-of-town driving. My son has just taken delivery of his Tucson and loves it. It's acceleration is phenomenal but on the coldest mornings the battery did nothing other than struggle to charge up.
What? You can choose different lengths in some countries? I thought that only one length was assigned to each country. For example, North America only get the long wheelbase, and Europe only get the short one.
@@kevinbick1234 Ah you must be in the UK so what will they Replace Diesel with In Trucks, Trains, Ships. Diesel is for MPG & Torque and Diesel is 15 cents cheaper here than Petrol DIESEL IS KING
everything he says is true, but he is comparing cars in different price ranges. an equivalent tiguan with 4x4 and gasoline and exact configuration is at least 10k more if you are lucky. a volvo xc40 is smaller inside and is more expensive. another thing is that in many regions of Europe you can get some financial benefits from the state if you buy hybrid cars, like smaller taxes, free parking or even a cut in the price of the car
I do not agree with you at the part of handling and ride comfort.Tucson has composed ride and handling as i experienced by driving all competitors. Especially when you travel along the motorway,Tucson is the best.
Currently Driving a 2008 Hyundai Santafe 2.8 V6 I must say the speed and acceleration it has for an SUV is impressive. Hopefully I'll be able to buy a Tuscon in the near Future.
We've got an Ultimate Hybrid on order which is definitely plug in, but this video is nearly 18 months old at this point. It’s around 240 bhp so is no slouch. Quite a wait though, it’s going to be 4 months from ordering to receiving it. However, that’s across the board at the moment.
I have a ultimate hybrid due in 3 weeks 🤞🏼. Really happy with my choice. Don't understand these reviews where they moan about an suv not being sporty 🤦♂️ and comparing it to much more expensive brand like Volvo In fact same presenter has done a comparison video between Tucson and xc40. The car beats audis mercedes volvos and everything else in design and also the engine refinement and drive are very much plush and the car is damn stable.. Disagree on a lot of things.. This car (along with few others like ioniq5, palisade, genesis, ev6, telluride) has made the koreans the new kings..
I own Hyundai Tucson MHEV 180hp AWS for 1,5 years now. Great car, but with a few unfortunate deficiencies. First, it has a quite low sitting headlights without washers. In the winter the headlights get covered with snow and sleet very fast and pretty much stop lighting the road. Second, there is no rear camera washer, so, again, in the winter it gets dirty quickly. Third, the rear turn indicators are sitting low in the bumper and not easily visible by those following you. That said, it is still a very good car. My wife loves it. But... I have already ordered ny Tiguan PHEV. Need to wait almost 9 months, though.
Why do people think those indicators are hard to see? Bizarre, they are perfectly visible to anyone not giving it the full Audi and sitting on your back seats. In fact they are more visible because abuse of the separation from the bright brake lights.
@@Jabber-ig3iw For example, when you stop at the traffic lights close enough to Tucsan, its turning lights are not visible to you at all. And by "close enough" I mean "reasonably close", not "in 10 cm distance".
The front looks like a Stormtrooper and the interior looks like it's a laptop on wheels. However, the dealbreaker is that there is no spare wheel in the back. Anyone who ever had a flat with his family will tell you how fun it is not being able to change it right then and there and having to wait (not to mention the hassle) of roadside assistance.
Great review...very indepth! This was like reading the manual but more fun :) Do people even read manuals anymore though...lol. Great job on your video :)
Very much agree on strange suspension, it is kind of mix of features, at times nice and comfortable, sometimes suspiciously waving, and sometimes firm vibrations. That must be electronically controlled suspension which fails to be good at some times, but still acceptable on good tarmac.
Hmmm I pick my new one up in 3days but now I'm a bit concerned, I live in Northern Ireland UK, what the hell does good tarmac look like?? Very little good tarmac in any UK district, the roads are abysmal 95%of the time, in a real shocking state, but anyway looking forward to get my first ever Hyundai in 32+yrs of driving, I just really like the look of the latest tucson and when I sat in the showroom model I knew it was the right car for me......
The link to Matt’s spec doesn’t work on my iPad. It seems to miss out a vital step because what.comes next is words to the effect of “Great choice - now let’s see how much you can get it for”
Kia Niro is similar, don't get it. Minor bump, broken indicators, vehicle not useable. Sometimes it can be difficult to find a 'new' car that has features that you have on your existing car 😂. Yet they are full of features that you previously never had a need for 🤐.
Informative and well presented. The only thing that's interesting is how the Brits pronounce it "Hy-un-die" when it should be pronounced "Hyun-DAY", which is the closest pronunciation to the original Korean pronunciation. American vloggers generally get it right. Refer to the Superbowl Hyundai Commercial from 2009 where they address the correct pronunciation of the name..
Didn't agree with comments about lag better than peugeot, I don't notice any lag on my 3008suv but looking at this video the touch screen looked very slow
Look where the rear turn signals are located, at the bottom! Major safety issue right there just waiting to get rear ended or a minor parking mishap. No thanks, I'll wait for the safety update.
Great review. Just strange that the PHEV version is still not available yet the later model of Santa Fe has a PHEV version. Hyundai are potentially losing sales.
I've got a PHEV Ultimate with tech pack on order in the UK...I have a delivery date of 27 July. It's true that it is a long time coming though. This spec has electronically controlled suspension so it'll be interesting to see how the ride compares. If you're in the UK, check on new car discount websites for a real saving (I saved ~ £7k on list price).
The Volvo is better looking, but too pricey and less reliable than the Hyundai badge. Also don’t like the Volvo vertical centre display thing. Ford do that in some cars too and it isn’t the best idea. Definitely not a fan of the lack of physical buttons/dials in the new Tucson however. Striking that right display-to-physical-control balance is an area where they vast majority of car interiors (where you spend your time) fall short indeed. If there’s one thing that car interior design proves, it’s that car design is not easy, otherwise why do so many fall so short? While the dash of the new Honda Civic is not perfect (still has some black gloss), car makers should look to it for inspiration going forward. It’s one of the best dashboards of the past two decades, and would give this dash a tonne. Up the materials and give it a slightly bigger display and lose the remaining bit of black gloss and car interior design would really be heading somewhere. Volkswagen jumped off some kind of cliff on their EV dashboards, but appear to be course correcting now with their new CEO. At least if that ID.2 concept is any indication. Note: never rest your hopes on a concept car design, and always watch reviews of the shipping car before forming any opinions and be sure to sit in it yourself just to double check. Re the ID.2 that’ll be 2026 before we’ll know more.
A very helpful review as I'm thinking of buying this model. One thing that struck me was the reference to the XC40 and Seat Ateca as competitors but not the Honda CR V or Toyota RAV 4. Are the CR V and RAV 4 considered to be larger / in a different class? Pricewise, they are in the same range as the Tucson.
What's wrong with you British reviewers? The germans and Spanish are positive about it. Are you sponsored by vauxhall or volvo maybe? I testdrove it and noticed nothing of what you said
This car's obvious competitor, in hybrid form at least, is the Toyota Rav4 yet Doug doesn't refer to it and keeps comparing it to the Volvo XC40 and VW Group cars??

So it seems to me that brittish motor Journalists have sometthing against korean cars and I don't get it, because they praise european brands despite that they always are the least reliable when you look at consumer satisfaction report tha last 5 years from Europe and the US. I purchased my new Tucson Hybrid with all top level safety features and trim level for 400 000 SEK which equal 39 600 EUR. If I would go for a Volvo XC40 with similar package I would have to pay 60 000 EUR with only 2 year waranty, so no thanks.
Did you drove it with the adaptive sunspenssion (ecs) or the regular one. ?
@@chamush6658 With the ECS
@@ninouslachin9434 i am really thinking of buying one and I really struggle to choose between Volvo xc40 and Hyundai Tucson. and even Kia xceed. But after reading what u wrote and being a Swedish u really cleared my mind. Thanks
@@Anton-. You can't go wrong with either Kia or Hyundai, they are both very good and reliable cars with the best warranties.
@@ninouslachin9434 it’s true! We have to overcome the badge or the brand issue for sure. They are value for money cars. Enjoy your Tucson!
What is the color of roof. Black or dark grey? Tnx
I've just ordered one and looking forward to getting it.
Me too getting mine 29/10/21
Is the hybrid engine in the Tuscon new or was it used before?
Great Video 👍
Designer: So how many body lines do you want?
Hyundai: Yes.

Very cutting edge design. Toyota, take notes. Hyundai, don't go up in flames.
they do go up in flames, electric konas are burning to the ground while charging
@@retrocompaq5212 only US spec ones tho
Great review. I think this is, hand down, the best looking sub-compact SUV on the road. You DEFINITELY know what this is in the rear-view mirror with the unique DRLs. Was interested in the PHEV version but might trade in my CX-5 for the Hyundai Tucson Hybrid instead...
I'm thinking of buying a CX-5 what do you think are they good cars or should I stay away from Mazda and buy the Tucson?
Good luck!
I believe Tucson is has the most space out of the suv you mentioned like Volvo XC40 and so forth. Both boot space and interior space
Much better review than matt's saltiness. Its an awesome car, saw it yesterday.
In Australia we have a diesel version and a longer wheel base only
We would like the longer one as wel. I don’t know whe Europe gets the “smaller” one.
Were you driving the 2 wheel drive version without adaptive suspension (ECS)? NB In Europe the 230 ps motor has a 6 gear automatic box, I think.
What's the color of this car? It looks really good. Thinking of buying a Tucson (vs a CX-5/CX-30)
Hola, el color del coche es el azul teal?
Gracias!!
I like it's look. It's got character.
What? You can choose different lengths in some countries? I thought that only one length was assigned to each country. For example, North America only get the long wheelbase, and Europe only get the short one.

I hate the squared off wheel arches.......just why?
Rrr all tgat and they missed a sunroof I really enjoyed the review
Doug when are you doing to do a N-Line S spec ? that what I going for.
You can buy a Diesel version here in Ireland 1.6 & 2.0 Diesel still is a Huge seller here
Not for much longer

I hope Hyundai can make more than one car, every review across the internet is in T3 HYU!!
I noticed that too 😂
I love the ultimate spec but Please give us a N-Line S spec hybrid review, that what I going for
Did you end up getting one? Iv opted for the same spec
everything he says is true, but he is comparing cars in different price ranges.
an equivalent tiguan with 4x4 and gasoline and exact configuration is at least 10k more if you are lucky.
a volvo xc40 is smaller inside and is more expensive.
another thing is that in many regions of Europe you can get some financial benefits from the state if you buy hybrid cars, like smaller taxes, free parking or even a cut in the price of the car
You cannot have a heads up display on any version, same for the new Sportage, you're paying top dollar, seems an odd omission.
dude isnt volvo xc40 like twice the more expensive than this model? how can u compare the two? dont understand the logic
Don't understand these reviews where they moan about an suv not being sporty 🤦♂️ and comparing it to much more expensive brand like Volvo
In fact same presenter has done a comparison video between Tucson and xc40. Wonder which one wins duh !!
Are you sure about the Mild Hybrid on the 1.6 150 hp? Your car doesn't have the Mild Hybrid badge on it.
Lool "There's a bit of flex in the centre console" .. could not even move it a bit hahaha
Hello. Can anyone say where i can get sideboards for this Nline model?
Is the 7-speed automatic a DCT?
Yes
The front looks like a Stormtrooper and the interior looks like it's a laptop on wheels.
However, the dealbreaker is that there is no spare wheel in the back. Anyone who ever had a flat with his family will tell you how fun it is not being able to change it right then and there and having to wait (not to mention the hassle) of roadside assistance.
Totally agree with you!! Unfortunately most of the new cars nowadays are lacking of a spare wheel. It’s a pity..!!
We will be lucky in Australia when it’s released here, our versions will have a full spare tyre.
@@thommyk70 hopefully they will. I don’t know whether they put one upon request. I ll surely check.
@@thommyk70 yes. Also here in Bangladesh we got the full size spare tire. I think it depends on the region/country.
Run flat tyres
Great review...very indepth! This was like reading the manual but more fun :) Do people even read manuals anymore though...lol. Great job on your video :)
I have ordered a 230hp 2 Monti ago...I am waiting
Great looking car, and good review
I really like the car but the dash screen could do with being higher.
how many kilometers can he catch on the highway with ev?
It seems to miss out a vital step because what.comes next is words to the effect of “Great choice - now let’s see how much you can get it for”
7 speed gearbox in the hybrid? Are you sure?
This is a proper car review. no nonsense, no gimmicks straight to the point, loved it..,👏👏
Getting mine around june.
Looks amazing but the ride comfort and handling and economy in some engines for nowadays is disappointing.
The year of this updated body style is 2022. Your title says 2021.
What colour is this?
Am I the only one triggered by the rear bulb turn signals in the rear bumper??!? WTF
Only if you are the guy behind ✌
Kia Niro is similar, don't get it. Minor bump, broken indicators, vehicle not useable. Sometimes it can be difficult to find a 'new' car that has features that you have on your existing car 😂. Yet they are full of features that you previously never had a need for 🤐.
Insurance company repairs will love all those angles when you get those car park dings .
Who repairs “dings”..?? A pretty pointless exercise.
Great design.
There are diesels. They come with a 1.6l diesel engine and it's also a hybrid. Maybe you guys didn't get it in the uk
GET MINE FRIDAY
Nice interior
Beautiful suv beats all the others in its class by miles
If you would choosing between Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage 2022 - which one would you choose?
Is this with the adaptive sunspenssion (ecs) or the regular one. Also have you experienced sqeaky plastic noises from the dashboard? Tnx
The Kia Sportage have the same indicator location. Invisible to a car following in traffic
Great review. Just strange that the PHEV version is still not available yet the later model of Santa Fe has a PHEV version. Hyundai are potentially losing sales.
This PHEV won’t be available to order until August 2021 and from the 1st July PHEV grants are halved in Ireland. Hyundai has missed the boat..!!
Everything is good, except the price. All hyundai and kia models cost double in europe than in Korea
They ain't getting taxed over there mate.
I think the hybrid is 6 speed automatic and not DCT
Full hibrid has a 6 AT true, the mild hibrid has a 7DCT
I love the back of the suv the front doesn’t look beauty enough
The front is the real highlighter though for this all new 2022 tucson . I like the front n back both 😀
I like the subtle modern look. This design won’t look dated five years from now. I can’t say the RAV4 will pass that test.
Sick design
A very helpful review as I'm thinking of buying this model. One thing that struck me was the reference to the XC40 and Seat Ateca as competitors but not the Honda CR V or Toyota RAV 4. Are the CR V and RAV 4 considered to be larger / in a different class? Pricewise, they are in the same range as the Tucson.
It is so odd to see the European version of this
It's unique and awesome
This is one of the best hybrid on the market. You are a Brit. Just go and buy land Rover.
The mpg stats of the mild hybrids are just pointless lol.
What are its dimensions ?
What's wrong with you British reviewers? The germans and Spanish are positive about it. Are you sponsored by vauxhall or volvo maybe? I testdrove it and noticed nothing of what you said
This car's obvious competitor, in hybrid form at least, is the Toyota Rav4 yet Doug doesn't refer to it and keeps comparing it to the Volvo XC40 and VW Group cars??
I’m getting the impression that it’s like a primark jumper… looks alright but it’s not the best.
