    Hyundai’s did a great job on the exterior lighting xcept for those rear turn signals at the bottom of the bumper

    • @ianpolo5673
      @ianpolo5673 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Hyundai and KiA need to change the location of the rear signal lamp. It is just not an ideal or economical location to place a signal lamp low down (out of eye level sight when car is near and bumper if impacted, damage to the lamp is high too). Don't know why with so many feedback the designer still stubbornly stuck with this idea. Not that placing the signal at the bumper is a nice design or what.

    • @yourtube4423
      @yourtube4423 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree, I seen this before on a KIA sportage and it seems like a safety issue, especially for semi trucker drivers who may not see the signal down so low

      @@ianpolo5673 For the US models, I understand because the US regulations say brake lights and turn signal have to be put on a fixed body piece and so we'd either have to get a different rear end or they have to do a completely different design for the whole world. That is, if Hyundai wants to keep selling this model in the US. Audi and Chevrolet bypass the regulation by putting another set of brake and taillights on the bumpers along with the ones on the trunk, but the bumper lights only turn on if the trunk is unlatched, once again because of regulations. It just causes extra wiring and more complexity which leads higher failure rates. The US wouldnt even allow sequential turn signals until recently. Why do you think the US usually has a different model than the rest of the world? Theres more restrictions and regulations here than probably any other country.

    • @SimplyCali619
      @SimplyCali619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@yourtube4423 no not a safety issue at all...if a truck can't see those lights then the car is merging too close to the truck. LOW lights like that are actually more visible during foggy weather...If you can't see those like then you are tailgating.

      Imagine having an LED indicator in the rear that illuminates gradually halfway from either side of that horizontal taillight.

    Going with a big, flat, capacitive touch panel for all the HVAC and media controls is just bad. There’s not even any way to differentiate between the buttons like raising or recessing the panel where each “button” is. And having a big flat panel like that with nowhere to anchor your thumb means that you’ll be trying to hit these buttons with an arm that’ll be bouncing around when the car is in motion. I was interested in the hybrid but now I’m rethinking the new Tucson altogether over that center stack.
    Every car that has done that was widely criticized for it. Honda just learned hard lessons about this after everyone complained, and they *added* physical buttons to their infotainment systems again. Come on, Hyundai.

    Turn signals in the back seem too low. At least in Murica, many are dumbasses and are too lazy to use them properly anyways. A turbo generally lowers reliability, but a hybrid battery will likely keep the turbo from getting as hot as a naturally asperated version. Like all hybrids, very long term reliability might be affected by the generator and hybrid battery life, and the extra weight lowers cornering ability but improves the straight line ride quality, more like a bigger regular vehicle. Maybe be like Car & Driver and compare it to similar vehicles.

      Are you suggesting getting regular 2.5L will be better than hybrid with turbo?

    • @jeffruebens8355
      @jeffruebens8355 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RiasatAbir the naturally asperated gasoline version costs less, might be more reliable and weighs less for better cornering, but gets lower gas mileage than a hybrid. I have avoided turbos until more is known about long term reliability, the turbo lag might be annoying, and you should change the engine oil more often and use full synthetic oil. It is possible that a hybrid will minimize problems with a turbo, but it is a gamble until more of them have 200 thousand miles and we know how well they held up.

    If you buy a Hyundai (especially the Tucsan and Santa Fe) be prepared to spend minimum of $175-$500 every month on BS problems you will never experience in a quality car like an Honda. Every other month you will have to replace 1 0f 6 to 8 catalytic converters that go out for no reason like clock work one after the other. Your gas line will need replacing, then your gas tank that rotted from the inside for no apparent reason. Your check engine light will be on more than it is off. When you finally replace the entire engine and decide you've had enough, and sell it for next to nothing, you'll buy yourself an Acura and realize that it never needs maintenance, that it isn't normal to be without your car every other month because it's in the shop again, and you'll swear like I did to NEVER buy another Hyundai again!!!

      This doesn't line up with the experiences of Hyundai owners I know. In fact, the CRV is pretty widely known to have reliability issues. Honda is rated below Hyundai/Kia in reliability last time I checked.

      @@jstrig Oh well by all means, all the people you know must be the only people who ever bought a Hyundai...ffs

      @@dand900 The point is, your experience is the exception, not the rule. Hyundai/Kia is currently among the most reliable brands

      @@jstrig Funny, not once did Hyundai say "You're the exception paying for all this bullshit work we're charging you for so we're not going to charge you anymore, and we're actually going to fix the problem instead of waiting til your cars out of warranty to do it on your dime"...hmmm.

      @@dand900 You could replace Hyundai in your post with Toyota, Honda, Subaru, etc.
