    The thought of retirement makes me cry. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings to fall back on.

      Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.

      I completely agree; I am in my mid 40s, approaching retirement, and have approximately over 2million dollars in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor can only be neglected, not rejected. Just do your due diligence to identify a fiduciary one.

      I think this is something I should do, but I've been stalling for a long time now. I don't really know which firm to work with; I feel they are all the same but it seems you’ve got it all worked out with the firm you work with so i surely wouldn’t mind a recommendation.

      I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with Lorrie Greta Hillard for about three years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.

    • @Neil-l7v
      @Neil-l7v หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lorrie has the appearance of being a great authority in her profession. I looked her up online and found her website, which I reviewed and went through to learn more about her credentials, academic background, and employment. She has a fiduciary duty to protect my best interests. I sent her an email outlining my objectives and also booked a session with her; thanks for sharing.

      The only breaks I got on my Medicare monthly deduction were on my ss checks in 2022 and 2023, 5.9% and 8.7%.

      We get screwed while crackheads get full medical, paid prescriptions, paid dental, paid surgeries, paid everything. SS recipients get screwed. I would be better off if I hadn't worked 52 and was just a crackhead.

    When will the SSI recipients receive equal Rights to marry ? 😢
    This is a slap in the face to our CIVIL RIGHTS
    and I can’t believe that nobody has brought this before Congress and demanded change with the Supreme Court 😢

    • @boomerbob3175

      What?? SSI recipients can marry. Do you think they shouldn't be allowed because their check would be cut? Yes it should be cut if the marriage means their income went up. Which is usually zero since they don't work to behind with. So live together is what most do and scam the system more than they already do.

    You know my wife worked all her adult life and only draws a 700.00 month after taxes and Medicare ! It is also my understanding that you can draw SSI even if you have never worked so I say damn wants wrong with that picture.

      Unless you are scamming the system you can only collect SS benefits if you have earned enough credits by working and paying into it (wo years) or have a disability and can't work. The amount you receive monthly is based on the amount you pay into it. www.ssa.gov/myaccount/assets/materials/EN-05-10703.pdf

    Now they need to increase the asset limit to $10,000 for a single person $20,000 for a married couple. You shouldn't have to open an ABLE account or create a Special Needs Trust if you happen to get small inheritance or a settlement from an accident.

    • @montamiddleton9318
      @montamiddleton9318 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Why? That's income? No difference how they receive it.

    • @martinguldnerAutisticSwanGuru
      @martinguldnerAutisticSwanGuru 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @montamiddleton9318 in Most states the asset limit to receive any government resources is $2,000 state of New York Medicaid asset limit is $30,000 State of California has no asset limit for Medicaid. If you have a disability diagnosis in order to have more than this asset limit to receive SSI or Medicaid you either need to have an ABLE account which $100,000 is the most you can have in the account to not count against benefits. If you want to spend several thousand dollars to create a Special Needs Trust there is no asset limit of what's inside a Special Needs

    If you have anyone living with you thats an ampute on SSDI and gets the same amount of money as you get on SSI, that money will be deducted from the SSI check. Its so wrong for them NOT to let and elderly woman or man have someone living with them and help and help protect each other from any harm . Its NOT GOOD To Live ALONE THESE DAYS.

    I an on SSI and SS , So I am in Mo. and get $943.00 and my State kicks in $10.00 and I gave up my Regular Medicaid and Medicare for an Aetna Advantage plan with some OCT Card , I get $120.00 in EBT Food Stamps . My House is still in a Special needs trust witch is now Out of corpus , So should I het the House put into my Name ? and the car ? and the fiduciary lost the car title . I know the trust has NO Money left but I guess my Daughter will still get the House and Car . I am awaiting the letter stating she did her duty and the funds are now gone and SSI has got to keep the House and Car going . So is it better to let the Broke trust own the House and car or should I take Ownership , I Only have Aetna who might be able to put a lien on it , I hope to pass the House on down to my Daughter or Granddaughters . .

    Lake County, California, is one of the State's poorest Counties. Lots of young adults on SSI here. Drug use is extremely high. Most of them don't qualify and follow the steps of their parents and learn the ropes of welfare, ssi, and workers comp taking advantage of the freebies while most of us work our asses off for a SS check. Many wait years for the benefit, enjoying the retro check and spending it on meth. It isn't a stigma, it is a reality, giving a bad reputation for those who actually qualify for it. Our local walmart is like a drug circus on the first of the month, loaded with spun customers on meth, swiping their EBT cards for frozen pizzas, fattening pre-packaged foods, tons of cereals and big buckets of that cheap ice cream. It's big business, why do you think that attorneys advertise on daytime tv all day long waiting for you to call to get your ssi. Ridiculous. Anyway, enough ranting and time to enjoy the Thanksgiving holidays. Happy thanksgiving all! :)
