Watch a genius but simple hack for removing contact lenses - without touching the eyeball

- A woman has gone viral after sharing a genius yet simple hack for removing contact lenses in seconds - and you don’t even need to touch your eyeball to do so.
Social media star Lala, 24, from Germany, went viral after sharing her top tips for removing lenses in just three simple steps.
In the video, Lala, who has 1.7 million followers on TikTok (@lalaleluu), demonstrates the method.
First, she pulls her upper and lower eyelids apart, then simply looks sideways and blinks.
The lens pops right out, falling onto her eyelashes so she can easily retrieve it.
After sharing the video on TikTok, Lala racked up more than 565,000 likes and nearly 7,000 comments, with the hack blowing viewers' minds.
One person commented: “Yall if I had known about this trick I would have begged for contacts years ago.” [sic]
“Girly you really out her changing everyone’s life,” another fan said.
Someone else wrote: “Omg…the way I was struggling this entire time taking contacts out.”
“Omg I didn’t know u can take them out like that,” another person commented. [sic]
“I’ve only been doing the trick since the beginning of April because I’ve struggled to take out my contacts when I got them,” Lala told Jam Press.
“I didn’t expect it to get so many views but I’m glad it could help people with the same struggles.
“People always find it odd because they have never seen anyone put contact lenses in or out without touching the eye with their finger.”
Lala said she is less accomplished at putting lenses in but a further video shows the star easily popping the lenses into her eyes.
She simply pulls her eyelid down, places the contact on the inner bottom eyelid, pulls up her top eyelid and blinks the lens into place. .

@@macring7282 I just try to follow her steps exactly. Just make sure to push your eyelid down and with enough force before looking up so that it helps pop it out

For everyone that uses very soft lenses or that can't get this trick to work, look straight in your eyes at the mirror and tilt your head down as much as you can while still being able to see what you're doing, this way the sclera will move upwards and you can lightly drag it with your pointer finger downwards so the lens breaks free, then pinch it and drag it out. Hope this helps

First time too, I had so hard time putting it in, my eyes keep trying to blink that it goes for about an hour.
But, it only took me few seconds to take it out.
it took me a good ten minutes to get mine out and that was just one! 😭😭
After 1.5 hours of struggling, I finally came across this video and removed the friggin left contact lens after stretching the outer corner (making my eye smaller) + stretching upper and lower eyelids + glancing to the inner corner with maximum strength. it's now 3:30am and I can finally sleep.
UPDATE (10 Aug 2024) I did a double eyelid surgery 1.5 weeks ago and my left contact lens got stuck (AGAIN) because i didn't have eye drops with me. THIS METHOD IS STILL THE WINNER AND MY DOUBLE EYELID IS STILL THERE.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH, THIS HAS SAVED ME A VISIT TO THE DOCTOR. I have been trying to get it out for 2 hours and have irritated my eyes badly, they are bloodshot and sore, I tried every single method with no success, then I rested for an hour to let my eyes recover and tried this, and it worked with 3 attempts no problem, no poking the eyes, no pain, no tricky movements that require loads of dexterity, just 1 simple motion that pushes it out easily.
I just got contacts for the first time in my life and getting them out was WAY harder and took twice as long as putting them in. This has helped so much! Thank you!

OMG😭 I've wearing contacts for like 48hrs 😅😅 I struggle getting them out! Putting them in is a work in progress
So she pulls open her eyes, looks as much as possible to the side towards her nose, then blinks.. I tried several times and it hasn't worked
This wont work unless your eyes are extremely dry from wearing them all day. If contact lenses came out every time you turned your eyes and blink, they wouldnt be doing their job.

The comfortable method I use is to look to the inner corner of my eye, use my finger to slide the contact over to the white of the eye, then pinch it with the sides of my thumb and index finger to avoid pinching near my iris and/or using my nails up against the eye.
@Kai Mai you have to stretch the outer corner of your eye like your trying to do Asian eyes (no offense) while also stretching your eyelids up and down, then blink.
I am struggling this very minute so I came to get help and found your video. So excited I’m going to try right now.

Using eye drops makes it easier to get them out
Mine stick to the eye despite using eye drops. Hope it will get easier by practicing this technique.

@@adamibnal-alam8917 it was easier to put them in with nails then taking them out with nails in my opinion. Taking them out was hard with nails cause of the scooping motion and my nails were long but putting them in now I use a contact applicator
@@JamPress It honestly took a lot of tries . It wasn’t easy. I still don’t get it in the first try sometimes. It can be Annoying so I’m looking into buying a contact lens removal applicator . I use a applicator to put them in aswell

This is a great tip but didn’t work for me because my lenses are super soft and moist and stick to my eyeball no matter what

Yes I’ve had mines for 2 days now. I was nervous to put them back in because I was like how the heck ima get them out lol. This helped me a lot. My contact lens was stuck in my top eyelid. The professional had 5 different methods that didn't work. This worked perfectly

I am a blinker and it was my first time trying contact lenses. it took me 30 minutes to get it in ( I just watch TH-cam but it doesn't help either lol) I just relax myself and put the contact like it was a magnet hahaha I was surprised I did it lol.

I’ve had contact for 2 days only and when I say she just helped me out so much. It might take a few tries but it’s actually way easier than touching your eye. I got one out on the first try. The second one was a bit harder I think because I was over thinking it lol. Hope this helps. You got this

This took practice. Pull outer side of eye, not middle, people watching, then jerk your eye to force like squint. It works.

You can also drop a tiny droplet of water in your eye and the contact will go up but and blink it will come back down and then you just wanna use your fingers and pinch it and it’s way more effective than just using your fingers dry
