It won't make much sense because the world at large doesn't know the existance of the Gorosei at all. For them it would just be another kind of monster in the New World or some people with strong haki/devil fruits.

Remember, she is also a Vegapunk. So she might be able to rewrite and override the Seraphim authority hierarchy and put herself on the top.

Imu is based on a Onmyōdō, a Japanese wizard in mythology known for summoning and controlling demons/yokai among other fantastical and outlandish magics. Typical myths describe them obtaining their powers via ‘deals with a devil’.
Even their silhouette resembles the classic headwear but with a crown and a bit longer than would be usually. Classic Oda stylization.

onmyoudo is the practice or "way of" divination magic. "Dou" is the word for "way" like in kendo or aikido.
An onmyouji is the practicioner. Usually shikigami are youkai adjacent rather than full on youkai (except for foxes, which can also be considered divine,) but there is definitely a lot of onmyou imagery going on what with all the circles and stars and 5 elements.
Also goes with his "arrow" or devil tail when Sabo saw him, he has to power up the Gorosei.

I didn't consider this- but I do think that the summoning circles make sense to be from IMU's power, if IMU doesn't have something like the LITTERAL DEVIL mythical zoan fruit, then having some sort of magic fruit would work, it wouldn't even have to be a zoan it could be like Hawkin's paramecia having a logia like form with his strawman thing. In any case I like the idea of IMU having occult like powers that support the five elders without ever having to reveal themselves- like they summited to IMU and became something like familiars, letting their powers summon them to places and other things.

5 elder Celestials, it's right there. A celestial body can be a star or a planet or even a moon, and the rest of them are called Celestial dragons so it's fitting to call them the elder celestials
I'm right there with you. If there was a whole naming revamp I'd probably go with calling the gorosei the 5 elder celestials, and probably change the tenryuubito to something like the heavenly dragons instead of celestial.
Yeah hoshi directly is celestial bodies in this case and the kanji above denotes burning body, so a celestial body with a burning body can only be a star, the five elder stars is basically the direct translation.

I think that’s one of the things I love about Egghead compared to other arcs: I genuinely have no idea where the story is going to go or how this arc will end. There are so many variables

A little relevant dnd lore:Devils and Demons are different. Devils are lawful and like contracts where Demons are chaotic and like destruction. I don’t know if it will ever come into play, but it’s interesting if you think of the devil fruits as contracts, where you gain a list of powers but lose the ability to swim.

There didnt appear to be more than one of those "arrow tendrils" and due to luffy being basically a looney tunes character at this point I'd definitely subscribe to the idea of Imu being a cartoonish devil and that being his arrow-like tail, would 100% fit the theme and who would be better fit for controlling demons than the literal devil

the broadcast is coming from kamabakka island. oda has already laid the groundwork by having shaka on the phone with dragon telling him that he was going to die soon and later by having dragon seemingly aware of the death of vp when the broadcast began.
We already have confirmation of the Elder Stars can use haki in this chapter. Lucci says to Zoro “You sense that massive haki too, don’t you?”
My guess is York is the top mission right now of the Gorosei, if they save her they can rebuild Egghead on another island. So if Mars can break through the barrier, if Ju Peter can go under the barrier, or if V Nus is fast enough, each one could get into save York. At that point they all can zap away, and just flatten Egghead to stop the transmission and army of Pacifista's.
That being said an escalation is NEOmads, who wanted revenge on a now dead Vegapunk, and Stussy needed to prove who Weevil is so Marco would help save him. They haven't been shown in a long time so we forgot about them.
Another escalation I will actually bet on is Imu attacks Elbaf. I don't see how that is avoided, and maybe thats how we get the 10 Straw Hats vs 9 God's Knights and a Gorosei.
Jaygarcia Saturn is like that one lazy dude in the friend group, especially after seeing how the other elders swiftly tried to maintain the situation.

Another fun thing I noticed about the Elders having a relation to Wano is that in Wano, there was a fox named Onimaru who was once cared for by Ushimaru the human. When that fox ate a Human-Human Fruit, he started going by Gyukimaru. Ushi + Oni = Gyuki as we recently saw with Saturn!
Personally I think egghead is going to end just like little garden, with Dorry and Broggy staying back in order to let the strawhats continue their journey

Thanks for sticking to Five Elder Stars. I'm mildly furious by their decision to translate the chapter title to "Planetfall". I know "Starfall" isn't a real term as well, but it sounds so much better than Planetfall in my opinion. It just flows better when said out loud.
The proper translation is “Falling Stars”.

I read a theory that stated that at least two elders might get defeated based off a cosmic event about to happen in real life... There's about to be a planetary alignment, and 2 of the elder star's planets are not present for it, and the theory believe they'll be defeated. I think it was sandworm and pigman who were said to go down though...
So I don't think we'll see all 5 Geezers defeated here and now, but at least one of them might just take serious damage and the rest will tactically retreat with their wounded comrade
If Zoro were to be included in the Gorosei action I don’t think there would be as much tension. I think the Lucci fight was dragged out just to literally make space in the story for other events to play out.

I thought about what creature Imu could be based off in terms of his/her form and my best assumption would be a Manticore.
If we are to believe that the arrows that killed Cobra came from Imu then it would make sense?
It has the head of a human, the body of a lion and the tail of a scorpion or a tail of venomous spines similar to porcupine quills. There are some accounts that the spines can be launched like arrows. It eats its victims whole, using its three rows of teeth, and leaves no bones behind.
Now maybe for Imus slender body type it'd be hard to think it could be a manticore but I thought about these monstrous creatures or demons and none of them really fit the arrow attack unless Imu is a God instead of a demon?
But knowing Oda, Imu will turn out to be a toenail clipper devil fruit or something.
Given how much we've learned about Saturn, perhaps the other elders live, but Saturn dies.

If Devon didn't exist my guess would be a Tenko which is a heavenly fox but in this case would be a twisted version of that. Another one that could possibly fit but might be stretching it would be a Nekomata mainly because Nekomata are said to have the power of Necromancy and if so maybe the reason the elders regenerate the way they do is because they work similar to skeletal zombies where no mater what dmg you do to them they will not go down as long as the necromancer or curse that brings them to life is dealt with. Also Nekomata are born from grudges the stronger the grudge the more powerfull the Yokai is and Imu in particular seems to have something against at least the owner of a certain giant straw hat.

If I remember correctly, Oda said something about the last arc being a huge war. To me it feels like it has already been started
One thing that caught my attention was that some of Five Elders are doing stuff that's similar to Straw Hats. Ethanbaron used cold attacks to freeze similar to Brook. Peter starting digging kinda like Chopper. Reminded me of Fishman Island. Little things like that make me think Oda may be setting up for later fights. By now the Straw Hats have fought a decent amount of flying opponents to deal with Marcus.

Since Law was undercover as Caesar Clown's assistant for a while and Clown was producing the SAD needed to make SMILEs, one could argue that Speed technically also is a centaur created by Law on Punk Hazard.
What did you expect the elders transformations to be, mine were:
Saturn:ushi-oni, a yokai ox spider demon.
Topman:hekatonkheire, a greek ancient monster with hundreds of arms.
Ethanbaron:naga, divine snakes in hinduism.

I foreshadow a Dragon appearance. Ain't no way the Dragon is missing out in a 5 Elder fight. And he can appear anywhere/anytime Luffy's at.

The recent chapters and the demon elders has got me thinking more about how Shanks refuses to eat a devil fruit, or for any of his crew to have consumed one... casts a new light on why he was so annoyed at Luffy too. Perhaps he knows some shadowy secret about devil fruits?
