Hi Peter, Great video. I have 2 Sonos Play 5 speakers and a Sonos Woofer. I assume I need to add a Bluetooth device to each of the speakers but how do I connect the woofer? Thanks
Hi some can help me . I have a projector in the TV room I currently send audio to a BT speaker via a transmitter is connected in the 3.5 output in the projector sending the Audio directly to the speaker. I have a pair of SONOS play 5's, which do not have BT. Is it possible to send the audio signal through the BT transmitter i have direct to Wiim mini conected as a BT receiver in the SONOS is this works or do you know something works better better? Thanks for the help.
If the 5 is playing via a Bluetooth connection, will grouping my other devices allow for the BT source to be played on all devices? Essential act as a gateway for the entire system?
I try to figure out something to let me use my sonos play 1 via bluetouch. If i get some sonos product with BT and ad it to my system would be able to listening BT sound on the play 1?. Thing is i watch lot of YT films and i would like to listen via sonos
Hi Pee, I bought the same Bluetooth you have (Wiim Mini). When I connect the line in to the Sonos Five speaker, there is a buzz or hum noise on it. Any reason?
I can’t get Dolby sound from my Xbox Series X to my Arc without a delay and I’m sure it’s because of my tv… is there a device where I can connect to my Arc then to my TV? Btw I tried toggling an audio delay on my tv and it just gets worse.
Yes, can adjust. There is a slight delay still. But it's down to about 1, maybe 2 frames lag. If you are sensitive to it, you might catch it but some people won't be able to tell.
Great video! Is there a way to have the sound playing from a tv through a Sonos soundbar (arc, beam, ray...), and transmit that sound to all sonos speakers or a group of speakers? The idea is when watching sports or a show, but wanting to walk around the house and still hear what is playing on the tv?
Hi Peter, great videos… But we should encourage customers to stop with this Bluetooth nonsense. With a beautiful app like the Sonos app and having Airplay2 and Spotify Connect supported, why consider the sound degrading and annoying connection of Bluetooth?
Yeah, I kind of agree with you. But there are still believers of Bluetooth and there are use cases for older MP3 players like the DAPs of the past that supports bluetooth so...
Hi Pete, first thank you for the videos, lots of great content, I do have a question that not even sonos representative was able to help over the phone, I`m working on a new living room, but I don`t have space for a soundbar. My plan is buying 2 sonos five to use as Left and Right, from a Samsung frame TV, my question is, If I connect just one of the sonos using a 3.5 mm jack and place both sonos fives vertically, will the sound pass from one to the other wireless?also sonos will split the audio? I just have one output jack from the TV. Do you have a better option in mind? please let me know, thank you again, you are great.
Hey, yes if you pair the Sonos five in stereo, you will be able to get stereo from the tv into the Sonos pair in stereo. But you have to bear in mind there’s a lag. And while I have recommended that you can set the delay to a minimum of 75ms, that’s still a delay of 75ms. You might get some lip sync issue. Each frame in a movie lasts about 42ms. For a 24 frames per second movie. Some material will be 30fps but if you are gaming it could be 60 or 120 fps. Which means each frame is close to just 8ms. So up to 9 frames can go by before audio catches up. But my example is extreme. In most cases, you are going to be just about 2 frames behind. And to some, that difference is imperceptible.
Wait a minute, why isn’t Sonos support able to answer that question? That’s a baked in feature! Important is just to stereo pair the fives first before the line in will play on both (to the other) wirelessly.
@@PeterPee thank you for the reply, about sonos support, the guy insisted that I have to buy a sound bar to be able to use the sonos five with the TV, that was a frustrating experience, I'll buy the equipment and test, thank you again Pete

Hi Peter, does this device allow you to play TH-cam Music through the Sonos Five?

If i have two sonos play 5 gen 2 , i will ned to update to the sonos five ? Or are the same in sound because is not cheap at all

Might be the cable. I know some cables that are shorted or wired wrongly at the GND pole.
Hi, I changed the aux out setting to 500 mVrms and it works better for me (I use the jack supplied with the wiim)
Would like to know if playing music via bluetooth on Sonos 5, has the quality of music been compromised or degraded?

Have you also tried the lip sync delay within the sonos app ?. I have no problem with the series x and the arc 👍

Yes, standard SONOS function.
Yes. That’s that way Sonos implements it. You can do multi room music. It will be in groups and all of it will play synchronised.

But if you are not in range of a Wifi network the speaker is worthless. Thus bluetooth.
So we can watch youtube videos
Also sonos works like trash with android and you tube

Would I be able to use this product with a Sonos Ray optical as hack to connect to my other Sonos speakers?
Actually yes. So you can use the optical output of this WiiM mini to your Sonos ray.

Yeah, I made a video on that already. th-cam.com/video/sUAGvoOQLFo/w-d-xo.html
