While some may not be the "strongest" they provide support, fun factor, or ease of use that anyone can enjoy. To new players, take note that Defense and Resistance are different things. Mtashed mistakenly mentions Kazuha and Jean shredding defense, but he means resistance.
in defense, he does say defenses rather than directly referring to the actual defense stat
he never said he does defense break he was saying defenses and resistence falls under the category of a specific type of defense which would be damage reduction to elements just saying...

I would also recommend to build YaoYao, dendro character, easy to build, and a fast healer when you ult.

i use yao yao at 15k hp lvl 60 and still heal very fast.
Yaoyao is the Best! And she is also very useful for gathering crystalflies, crabs etc.
I've got her c6. She is an absolutely amazing healer.

@10:22 To add on a little bit more info to Kokomi, as a unit, she's also the most artifact efficient character in the entire game, up to this point. Firstly, because you don't have to worry about crit stats, this makes building her much easier. Secondly, there's a very wide variety of artifact sets that not only work with her, but they work quite well. You've got a standard healer/damage dealer hybrid build with the clam set, or you can use the thrilling tales + tenacity set on her. BUT, you can also use her to carry your dendro res-shred artifact carrier, allowing Nahida or another dendro character to use gilded dreams. Or, you can use Kokomi as a driver for reaction based teams, focusing on HP and EM, while using her as a turret to mow down enemies at a distance. You can also use a wanderer's trope artifact set, with an EM catalyst (building EM and HP stats) and have her use her charged attack to vape pyro to do some fairly high f2p friendly damage, with this method being the only way she can do more than 100k damage in a single hit.

Despite being easy to build, I swear the Ocean Hued Clam set is rigged to drop Crit stats everywhere. I don’t know if it’s sheer bad luck, it just so happens that a lot mine had double Crit values on a lot of them 😂

Got Keqing as a new player wayyyyy before inazuma. She was my first 5 star. She is excellent for exploration to get higher up! And so fun to play. I have stuck with her all this time.
Bro same I also got keqing first 5 star it very good to have in early and late game with Nahida
I’d just like to point out Yaoyao. She’s an insane healer (can outheal Bennet/Kokomi) while also providing more dendro reactions for your teams. She’s extremely cheap to build (hp/hp/healing % or hp) and shares the same artifact set as many other dendro units (deepwood). Her best in slot for f2p is literally a 3* the black tassel. I’d also like to point out Yoimiya as an insane dps for players on mobile. Her normal attack play style makes rotations easy and effective. Her artifacts can also be farmed in a popular artifact domain (emblem of severed fate/shimenawa’s)
Yelan is xingqu but a lot nicer to look at 💀 4:45

I want to add crowd control units; kazuha likely won't come back for a couple of months, venti might come soon but Nahida was actually the unit that helped me through my cc-less days (I didn't get even just sucrose until AR 53) bc of nahida's linking ability, you kinda get a cc effect and she helps clear groups on enemies so quickly. Also her collecting ability in the overworld is just really useful. I'd definitely prioritize her over venti rn since dendro can clear so much more for most of the game
When Kuki came out, I copped with her by using a physical build so i was really happy when dendro came out.

I pulled Kuki on Itto's banner with the single wish that I had after coming back from a year's hiatus (before dendro). Didn't follow meta then, built her because I thought she was a cracked healer and could help with a taser team. After that she never left my team. Dendro was a blessing.
If you're only just starting on the game I would recommend just building characters that is mostly on that region, mainly on Monstadt and Liyue continent it will be more easy for you to level up the characters and their talents. If you got this characters early game I would recommend using them in the early game (Kaeya, Rosaria, Bennett and Xiangling) (Sucrose, Fischl, Beidou and Xingqiu) if you want to use hyperbloom right away you can use (Barbara/Xingqiu, Dendro Traveler(as the video state you can sprint to Sumery and resonate with dendro element), Lisa and Zhong li if you will get him on the next banner). For me if you're between AR 15 to 40 that's my recommended team to use if you got them.

Pretty much covered all my personal recommendations as well. The only ones I feel worth adding here would be Kaeya and Beidou (although she would be subject to the same reasoning as Fischl's here) just because they both can be incredibly strong and can scale well through late-game.
As a person who had diluc since he first came out, i love him on every squad i put him in, to me he is the best pyro character in the game

honestly fischl carried me in early game and she's basically necessary for dendro teams. she's a great battery and she can hit like a truck with the right artifacts. don't sleep on fischl y'all she's one of the strongest (and most comfy) characters in the game
You should speak about the important concept of off-field elemental application. Yae miko's use in dendro teams, Ayato and Ganyu burst, Freeze comps. Also, you should speak about ICD of element application and the units with altered ICDs
ICDs are basically irrelevant for majority of players.

Xiangling, Xingqiu, Sucrose, Bennett, Fischl, Kuki, Nahida, Kazuha, Zhongli, and Kokomi would be my top picks as a 1.0 player with a stacked account. They all are super versatile in a lot of teams, very strong, and fun to play in my opinion.

I honestly think that Beidou is very underrated, maybe because she doesnt work with Raiden, but still if you get her constellations she is an insanely good sub-dps and can honestly replace fishl in some team comps

beidou kinda needs fischl cuz of energy and fischl is just the best electro unit rn but I do agree that they both should be in the top 10 at least fischl should b e instead of raiden/kuki or Yelan cuz let's be honest xingqiu brings just so much more on the table than yelan. yelan has a bit more dmg but that's kinda it

Usually Beidou is paired with Xingqiu for massive damage reduction.

Thats very dependant on the team/enemy and rotation but nowadays, you can get easily over 200 ER (with ER weapon) and make her work.
For a brand new player who probably won’t have sucrose and they want to wish for yelan and you get Lynette constellations plus the free you get she’s a great option. She makes exploring good and she may not be as good as sucrose imo she’s still gonna be a very good Anemmo support unit and she’s gonna help with the new Fontaine region and the new mechanics there.
So far your opinion aligns well with mine. This is why I watch your videos. Keep posting videos like this, it's helpful for some of us
Yaooyao and Kirara were overlooked, in my opinion. As a new player, I don't think it's a good use of primos to spend them on Zhongli or Kokomi so it's more worth your resources to build the 4* healers. Bennett is free in 4.0 so that's covered. On the otherside, he mentioned Diona which is great but after her, I think the dendro healers are the best to build. They can fill the flex slot in bloom and quicken teams very well until you have the primos for Kokomi or Baizhu.
From an ex meta slave / theory crafting enjoyer to new players:
There is probably no character that has more value on an account than Xingqiu. Absolute must build unit with the best single target hydro application by far (at c6 about twice as much as Yelan if I remember it right), insane damage output (at c6 about equal to Yelan because it's also easier to buff) and really underrated defensive utility (take up to ~50% less dmg + most of the time more than enough heal to make up for it).
Xingqiu has always been insane but with the release of dendro, he even surpassed Bennett according to Zajef. There is actually not a single case in combat where Xingqiu can't AT LEAST keep up with Yelan and most of the time he is straight up just better. Together they are even better tho.
Also, he is one of the easiest characters to get and c6 because he is free in the Liyue event every year and he is also in the starglitter shop rotations.
Anyways, Xingqiu is my #1 recommendation to literally every player, no matter how good their account is.
I'm level 54 and still don't have him. I just started in spring. The star glitter probably won't help me bc I cashed it in to buy Fischl last month. Xingchui is on my list, but I will have to be lucky or patient.
@@beverlyrussell8034 You'll get him eventually, trust the process. Even at c0 he's extremely busted, he just has some of the best cons on top of that. From c0 to c6 he gets like literally more than twice as strong but don't stress it, as I said c0 is totally enough :)

@@beverlyrussell8034 Np. Also, feel free to save up starglitter to spend on him every time he's in the star glitter shop. One copy is for the starglitter cost worth 6 (almost 7) wishes and you what you get for it is better than any 5 star and every con is at least on 5 star niveau. I know it hurts to save that long and to spend 34 starglitter just for one 4 star, but it REALLY is more than worth it for him. C6 is his best con and c2 his second best.
You could also get Alhaitham when his banner comes since he makes exploration and domains a lot quicker and easier. Also I noticed you haven't recommended Ganyu this time around and you main her

Mtashed recommendations are versatile units that can be supports and damage dealers. They are the must build ones because they can be used in many team and for different purposes. Alhaitham and ganyu are mostly on field DPS units. DPSes can be interchanged based on your team and who you build should be based on who you want.
@@antonioroach3625 if you build him well and give him a good team comp, (I recommend pairing with Raiden since her skill is more consistent and reliable for him along with Nahida and Kokomi) all you need to do most of the time is start with his burst, spam normal hits and throw in a charged hit and skill here and there when he loses his first mirror to get it back up as his sustained damage adds up overtime compared to Keqing. For situations where he don’t got hit burst up, he can start with his skill and charge hit right away to get his third mirror

Wirh Lynette being a free 4* anemo and not locked behind content, she will be a good character to build as well if you dont have sucrose/venti/kazuha. Lynnette may not have the crowd control but her swirl and shred will be very effective
Good video little bit of a hiccup at the end, great advice. One major addition would be Yao Yao great in almost any dendro team, easy to build.

Ayaka, Mona comp has been my favourite since Ayaka first released and I’m still entertained perma freezing everything I face and she shreds everything in abyss. Her speed in dash form is also so fast I use them and kaz for ultimate ease in exploration.

Someone that he should’ve mentioned whilst explaining nahida is nilou. Practically the easiest unit to build( I have her stacked hp as much as possible, she uses a level 1 dull blade, and talent doesn’t matter). And her team consist of two free characters, Collei/dendro traveler and Barbara. Ofc if you have kokomi or other dendro characters you could switch them. But I’ve been using the nilou nahida barbara collei team and it slaps hard. I’ve played the game since 1.2 and in my opinion this is by far the best team you can get. Easy investment, high damage, and fun

I think Miko and Nahida are must builds. Them both toghther is super powerful too and you can kill enemies with little effort which some times you want when you feel lazy.
Haven't played the game for a month but its nice to see this guy playing the game again.
Notable 4 stars for me. that cam work in multiple scenario.
YaoYao - Dendro, healer.
Kuki - Electro healer, excellent for hyperbloom.
Xingqiu - Hydro, damage reduction, abit healing.
Beidou - Electro, damage reduction. Has shield with cons.
Yanfei - Pyro, excellent shielder with Cons 4.
Thoma - Pyro, shielder, can work in burgeon.
Razor - Eula 4*.
Kaeya - Cryo, good dmg
Lisa - Electro, can work on hyperbloom/electro-charged.
Amber - Pyro, supportive with Eledgy.
Dionna - Cryo, shielder, healer, EM boost (Cons 6)
Sucrose - Anemo, grouper, shares EM.
Yanfei is also a good pryo support/ sub dps for her charged atk dmg
She gives sheld on her c4
And extra damage on her charged atk on c6
Very versatile with most of the craftable weapons
Crimson witch set with crit rate or element mastery makes her a very good damage dealer 🔥🔥🔥
I'm actually having a lot of fun using 4 stars nowadays. Any 5 star will carry your account. Pull/build the characters who you love and want to play :)
As a Yelan haver that pulled her last banner congrates on getting her tashed man and yeah I can confirm she is one of the best units in the game not only in the abyss but also the overworld where she almost never leaves my part because of her running ability alone lol

If you're new, these are into the must pulls, because they enable comps and buff other characters a lot and arent particularly boring:
- Nahida
- Kazuha
- Nilou if you like her (niche but incredibly strong)
- Bennett, Xingqiu and Xiangling, Kuki
Everything else after that imo, isn't super important and the same role can be filled by different characters. Id say if you build these units, everything else that you raise doesnt matter in in terms of power, cause they can play in great teams as long as they are supported by these units.
Yelan or Raiden for example are great, but kinda a premium, like they dont define the way you play (Xingqiu and Kuki do the same as them for example) so you can pull them if you want, but they dont define teams like these other units do.

I agree with you, Tartaglia is very very good, but is not for everyone if you are not careful with rotations, so here's where Ayato comes in, he's good and fun as well. Those two are awesome.
I gave up on Kuki a long time ago but somehow kept going back to her and didn’t know why. I hyper invested in her and don’t regret it.
got my Keqing/Kuki Shinobu/Qingqiu/Collei team going and my goodness is hyperbloom so easy to build and fun to do! Keqing was my first 5* pull when the game came out and I'm glad to come back and see her working a lot better with dendro being added to the game.
Fischl and Kuki don't compete. Fischl is the cornerstone of the aggravate team comp, while Kuki is such for hyperbloom with Raiden. It is funny that he recommends Keqing right after because of aggravate, when it is in truth Fischl who carries that team; Keqing is just there to provide the electro reaction to trigger Fischl's A4.
And even then just puting kazuha instead of keqing on field makes a better team kek.
And then you bring kuki so even more electro and a healer which is 10x stronger
Hard disagree on your Keqing's take. She benefits a lot from aggravate herself due to her fast attacks while making Fischl better (and vice versa).
Fischl only carries the team in single target, Keqing does a whole lot in AoE which makes the team so good in both ST and AoE.
@@Merquitarika Using kazuha one field and kuki instead is more Aoe and Single Target dmg.
Keqing isnt bad but not the best option for that teams because she is actually terrible at driving fischls A4 passive.
You also probably use a healer if so nahida is also lost which means even less dmg

And no, you don't 'lose' Nahida, you don't even want her on the team as she unnecessarily makes electro considerably harder to swirl. Yao2/Kirara are better for Aggravate.

keqing deals more electro damage than combination of kuki and kazuha while zhongli eleminates the need to dodge and prevents the resulting stamina consumption and time loss.
Quick shoutout to Alhaitham being one, if not, the best ftp friendly 5 star character out there :)

I just got Tighnari as my first ever 5 star in the standard banner as my 4th summon! Real happy I got em and my prior summon to him was Yaoyao. I just started the game too from last week and from Beginner's Wish I got Bennett, Sucrose, Barbara, Razor and Noelle.
I know it’s not everyone’s recommendation but for me it was Yae who helped me clear abyss the first time. Yae became incredibly good with Nahida, surely you can easily replace her with Fischl and Kuki but for me she’s the best.

Freeze teams in general are really nice for ftp because you get a lot of free crit rate and the best possible CC in the game
I know everyone hates her but Qiqi is such a good healer. Her cds are long but the ascension passive is enough to always be on full health. Has been so helpful in a lot of situation and shes also easy to build honestly
Qiqi is actually the best healer in term of healing, and by A LOT, she has the highest sustained healing in the game with 100% uptime, yes, 100% without sac sword,
Both her skill and burst have 15s duration, additionally, she has her passive talent that lasts for 6s, her healing uptime is actually +120%.
For the abyss she isn't meta but she work very well as the driver for a lot of dendro and non-dendro teams, and she's the healer who can get the max and highest dps from ocean-heud clam set.
And for co-op she's top tier, or simply the best, especially for the large domains.
I bet 99% of the people who hate her don't know any of this.
Her Cryo application is one of the worst in the game...sh'es just a mid physical dammage with heal...
@@yayazow Healers dont need to be good enablers, yk? The healers that are used as enablers are pretty much only Kokomi, Shinobu, and Yaoyao.
+ Nah, her application is pretty good for meele characters, it's sustained and with sac sword it has 100% uptime.

@@-jno3164 Yes they do. For a healer to be good they have to do something besides healing. Bennett for Self Pyro aplication and attack buff. Kokomi for Hydro aplication. Kuki for her Electro aplication. Yao Yao for Dendro aplication. Barbara for a very long mobile ring of Hydro app good for Dendro teams. Jean for self Anemo aplication. Even Diona can be a good battery for the team. Qiqi does nothing but healing, making her one of the worst characters in the game.
Also, just because Kaeya has a lot of Cryo aplication on his burst doesn't mean that Qiqi's skill does too
@@-jno3164 ...There are better characters that can be drivers for these team. Heck, even Eula can be better than her especially since Hyperbloom Eula actually exists.
I hate when people bring her over other healers in co op, especially when there is a character who would appreciate someone like Bennett more.
I think you need to move fischl into the xingqiu/xiangling/Bennet tier. She got absolutely blasted to the top with dendro.

Also, some characters like Lyney and Tighnari are ALSO charge shot users, but…idk what it is, I find them WAY more fun to play. Their rotations are just slightly more engaging
I have both of them cause I had a phase of just pulling for "meta"s lol I 100% agree with you. They are indeed sooooo boring to play. I think I just tried out Hu Tao for a bit, even gave her a a Staff of Homa. I mean, she does deal a lot of damage, but I just can't get on board with her playstyle. I don't remember the last time I played her tbh 😅 At least for Ganyu, I still use her on Spiral and Scaramouche boss, sometimes as my second Cryo to compliment Ayaka, but still, she is also so boring to play. Hu Tao is the only character I actually regretted wishing for lol

I pulled for ganyu and got bored of her charged attacks, but her ult seems kind of fun. I'm thinking of pulling possibly wriothesley and making ganyu a support

first 4 floors of abyss are easy to deal with but after that there are two halfs.
for one, if u have benette... well u are just good to go.. but u cant go with him on both sides.. C1 Benette is freaking cracked and it just makes him a power house if u get him as healing support.. with healing and elemental mastery in the artifacts.. he's just a god tier piece..
but u would need another healer in second half.. though i recommend a shielding unit like Zhongli.. cuz i personally use him and his shield at level 60 with good artifacts is dope ..(PS: i have HP sands, Geo bonus goblet, Crit circlet.. and a millelith set with 20% extra hp..) his shield just wouldn't break for like 7-8 attacks and that's enough cool down on his E ability..
but zhongli is a 5 star and everyone wont have him.. another good one is Kuki Shinobu, as shown in video, she's a cracked 4 star unit which u can use.. EM in sands, goblet, and circlet,, well she is good to goo.. but support zhongli shield or sub DPS zhongli with minimum 30-35k health is a really good character to have.. Ayaka with her burst makes one of the top 3 cryo characters.. literally ith shenhe as support.. she's cracked at C0.. but even if u dont have shenhe.. i recommend u pull for Ayaka no matter what . zhongli isn't a must pull but he is worth pulling for.. andd.. GET BENNETE PLEASE.. JUST PLEASE GET BENNETE..
just get benette at c1 and and get a shielder or healer .. kuki is good option but u can go with barbara too, and benette can be used as a main dps so he's just too good... and u could use Noelle or Layla but i don't recommend doing so.. for dendro.. just get traveller to c3 ... he's good at c0 itself but even c3 traveller is top tier dendro character.. he fills the role of tighnari and one of the best free 5 stars is Dendro traveller.. he's cracked if u just level him and his artifacts correctly..
another mentioning is yanfei.. she is really good pyro support/sub dps unit.. with her c4 she gets a sheild aswell and c6 yanfei is cracked...if u can get her to c4 it will be good enough..
next is nahida.. SHE.IS.A.MUST.PULL. if u want super high dmg and perfect dendro reactions... she's truly a goddess and fullfills her role...
every hyperbloom team must have nahida .. even tho dendro traveller is good to fill the spot.. nahida just increases everything..
she as a driving unit with kuki or even fischl is really good...but yaemiko is a really good pairing for nahida..
kazuha also is a kinda must pull/worth it character.. his swirl is one of the best and is really fit in cryo, pyro and even in some electro teams.. kazuha just deals so much swirl dmg that he is one of the best dps/(if u want) sub dps characters in game.. really worth it..
For hydro.. i say pull for ayato when he is on banner, tartaglia is good but not alot of player are bow players.,, even tho childe is good, and his E makes him a sword/polararm user for awhile.. well, HIS E HAVE INSANE COOL DOWN.. like maybe 30 seconds or around that.. maybe higher or lower.. but ANY E ABILITY WHICH EXCEEDS 20 seconds is really hard to get by.. ayato on the other hand doesnt have that kind of problem..xingqiu is a reallyy realllyyyyy good hydro character aswell.. his pairing with hyperbloom teams and electro teams is insane..
another option for hydro is ...welll. i think u guessed it, its obviously Mona.. her support is also one of the best, but she's a 50-50 losing 5 star character... andd then comes yelan.. well she's just too good lol
kujou sara is a really good option for electro if u want.. she's a 4 star dope unit if u use her right..
one of the anemo characters, wanderer/scaramouche .. he's a really good anemo character with insane swirl.. either scara or kazuha... both are really worth pulling for..

I have both Ganyu and Lyney, I can tell you even solo, my Lyney does more damage, but Ganyu still is a good pick
You can also probably add in (travel) to Yelan as well, with her skill being used quite often for sprint. Also....not contesting the list whatsoever, as it is YOUR specific list....but Ganyu becomes a lot more challenging to play in a melt team without Zhongli (since her aim mode is easily broken without a shield but she's still awesome in a freeze team.) And speaking of reaction teams (ganyu melt)...it turns out that you can do similar damage output by using Kokomi to vape Xiangling's burst with a wanderers set, focusing on EM and HP stats (while not having to worry about crit, as it's the only way Kokomi can break six-figure+ damage numbers in the abyss.) But, as a side note, if the vape instance isn't the result from Kokomi's charged attack, while in her burst, the resulting reaction will only be roughly 10% of what it would've been otherwise.

Good core team units enable you to pick up any new 5 star that comes in more easily, getting at least one dendro team going is essential and building 2 is advisable.
Kuki is an archon of hyperbloom. Period. Pair her with Nahida and Ayato and you'll never be forced to use elemental bursts, just E everything into dust. And you still have a flex slot to put your waifu/husbando or a useful for exploration character in.
Since you recommended her teammates, Nilou. Nilou bloom is one of the best and easiest comps in the game to play.

My favorite character currently is Wanderer. He's SS tier in exploration and his power level is surprisingly good. He's flexible and easy to play. Have a great time with him exploring teyvat and stomping enemies out of existence lol. Yelan is my second favorite unit.
ayaka is so busted op even at a0... i strongly suggest anyone who has her who isn't using her to build her right. she's utterly worth it.

This "top 10 builds" is always gonna be heavily situational. If you have Kazuha then building Sucrose could be quite pointless for example. If you play a lot of Hypecarries you'll want Zhongli, but if you play a lot of Dendro or Quickswap teams you'll want Kokomi. Likewise, if you plan to use Raiden in Hyperbloom, you might have no need to build Kuki. And so on.

With no ICD? With no need to be at 50% HP to fully maximize her damage? Hu Tao also requires timing with the charged attack jump cancel, which most people don't even bother using.
I would definitely build those characters that I didn’t get a chance to build on my main due to the anxiety of clearing the abyss. Sayu, Mika Lynette etc.
I've built Noelle to be an awesome utility character: main healer (hyper-invested in DEF), clutch damage dealer, miner, and platform destroyer.

Hot take that I know will made people mad: Sucrose is one of those characters that people always pretend is the best thing since sliced bread because TCers love her but the cold hard truth is she's clunky and feels like shit to play. She is one of those characters that people say is amazing just because other people are saying she's amazing but she has less than 1% usage rate for a reason, she's just not fun. Mtashed is recommending her and saying she's OP but even his Sucrose is level 60 and neglected and he's a huge meta slave, that's all you need to know. She has her uses but the days of getting easy C6 Sucrose are long gone now that the 4* pool is oversaturated. If you're a new player, just get Kazuha and call it a day. Don't fall for the Sucrose meme.
You can also just use Kazuha on said teams and it is as good or better. Just figured she is 4 star
Her playstyle doesn't change the fact she's amazing thanks to her 'em share. Usage rate is such a stupid way to rate a character, just because she has low usage rates doesn't mean she's bad.
yeah she's just overall worse than Kazuha. Her only niche where she excels at is driving reactions but many current meta comps don't really want on field Anemo driver and the old comps like taser are powercrept by dendro, so you would be just better off playing aggravate and hyperbloom by splitting Fischl and Xingqiu instead of running taser which will take up both of these units.
Please don't listen to this guy, if your a new player that don't have kazuha please build sucrose she works perfectly fine as a kazuha replacement especially at c6

First of all .. you are using abyss usage data as a metric to determine a character's strength.. which is insanely wrong..only a holes like seka or walrus uses it..
Second of all - not everyone finds Sucrose clunky .. if you know the rotation properly , she is better than Kazuha in so many other situations
Nahida, kirara, kuki, yelan hyperbloom is one of my crack team now... weirdly able to clear abys 12 as well alongside with ayaka premium freeze team... Nahida (dendro applicator, main dps), kirara (shield/sub dps, some dendro), kuki (proc hyperbloom & healer), yelan (makes enemy wet and bloom)...

Lol, my first two failed 50/50s were Keqing and Tighnari (have only played for like four months, and have yet to win a 50/50, so welcome home Qiqi) I use Keqing a lot, and Tighnari is my go to bow user for eye of the storms or Oceanid (which I found that Keqing can actually hit if you aim right and don't mind constant electro-charged damage) and I have him on a team with Fischl, Lisa, and Yaoyao (didn't get the game in time for Baizhu 😔)
