    My fix was to relieve the tank. The psi was up to 30. Reduced it down to 8-10 psi and now water flows great

      Thanks for watching, 30 psi is high indeed. Great job making it a DIY project and releasing psi from tank down to 8-10. 😎👍

    I have a new tank new filters new tubing and the reverse osmosis tank ball valve is in the open position (it also has zero water in it) but nothing is working, I have zero water to the reverse osmosis system and zero water flowing to the tank and I don’t understand what’s wrong ….. any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks for watching, any update? While the system was empty during the filter change, did you verify that the tank had the proper pressure?
      In our case, our tank requires 7psi while completely empty. If your tank psi is lower than the manufacturer’s recommended amount, the tank will have a hard time pushing water out of it and up to faucet.
      On the opposite end, if your tank has too much psi, it will overpower the system and not allow water to enter tank.

    It has been years since we usued our reverse osmosis system. I have just replaced my pre/post filters and adjusted the pressure in the tank (it was zero when I first checked and the tank was empty). I also JUST replaced the membrane, disconnected the line from the tank and held it in the sink. With water running to the system, water barely trickles through the line intended for the tank. I took apart the whole system, wiped down what I assume is the auto shutoff valve components and still no more than a trickle through the tank line. I noticed a rubber disc under the auto shut off rings that looked slightly deformed (as if a portion of the center was raised from being pinched). Could that be my issue??

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. That is your internal auto shutoff diagram. Below is a link to a video that talks more about that.
      th-cam.com/video/hj1volAUeR8/w-d-xo.html
      On average, it takes 4-6 hours for an RO system to fully pressurize which in return will give you better outflow water pressure.

      Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. By chance, was the new filters exposed to temperatures below 40f at any point?
      The reason we ask is because this happened to us and after many troubleshooting steps, we realized that it was faulty filters from the get-go due to having them in freezing cold weather before bringing package inside and unboxing it.

    I added air pressure to tank because of weak flow per instructional videos but now my tank will not fill up. Weirdly- I can feel the source line from the needle valve flowing water ONLY when i use the kitchen faucet. I am about to check my filters but it doesn’t make sense for this behavior to be caused by dirty filters or does it? Thnx

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. At this point, your tank may have more pressure than the system which will not allow water to be pushed into take.
      In other words, the tank is over powering the water that’s trying to get in. Its continuing to push water away from the tank.

    How would the tank gain psi? Doesn’t seem possible

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community.
      Great question and it’s very uncommon to gain psi over a short time frame. It can gain or lose 1-2 psi over a course of 6 months to a year.
      Psi changes occur due to temperature changes and outside atmospheric pressure. Your house will experience the same throughout the year as temperatures change. A random door might close perfectly during December however that same door might begin to rub on the frame during July as it closes.

    Hello i just intalled the filters and the tank does not fill up. When I open the faucet it has almost 1.5 liters and than the water stops. After half an hour or so I can get again the same amount but never more. The company that installed the filters says that it will work but its been three days and the tank is still empty. Do you have any idea why this happens?

To give you a better understandig I have to mention that we are two houses that use the same water system and pump...they(the other family) also have set a RO faucet and their tank is also not filling. Thanks for the follow up, if system wasn’t installed 100% properly up to code, it might be causing the lack of performance with pressure.
      Since it’s affecting both homes, the cause is very likely tied to something deeply rooted to the main pump and valves.

    What if water comes out of the schaeder valve?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good morning ☕️
      Are you referring to the Air-gap port on base of faucet? If so, that’s an indication that your black drain line is clogged.
      Carefully disconnecting the black drain line from the lower fitting where it feeds into your plumbing, followed by carefully unclogging line and re-securing it to fitting will hopefully solve issue.

    • @twinkletoes3051
      @twinkletoes3051 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@DIYwithMichaelBorders no. Thank for the advice but I was referring to water coming out of the Schraeder valve on the tank when trying to add air to increase the pressure of the tank. It means the tank is bad and that the bladder has ruptured.

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@twinkletoes3051
      Thanks for the follow up. Unfortunately, that’s not good. How old is tank? If water is leaking from that fitting, it means that the internal bladder has ruptured and is now allowing water into lower air compartment…and allowing it to leak out of valve.
      It might be time for a new tank. If interested in purchasing this product, visit our Amazon affiliate link below. I earn from qualifying purchases.
