Im a 50 plus guy ,And this dosent happen to me alot anylonger , But ,Damn I love everything about this artist .Youre totally right ! She is a superstar !
Joe is such a musical gift to us all and Samantha is a Doll that can sing and play like no other. Thanks for sharing your personalities and talents with us Mere Mortals!!!❤
Thank you for liking my page... the best way I can reach out to you guys is giving you good shoots and music but I want to do more and my management wouldn’t let me that’s why I decided to get in touch with my fans randomly... I would like to know you just as you’ve known me..
I beg to differ! He needs to make his questions more succinct. If you're a JB fan and don't know that: "his father owned a music store" by now, you're not much of a JB fan! Because he's such a phenomenal guitarist, I can almost tolerate three solos in one song. However, he needs to make his interviews more about the guest, and less about him! Here's a great example! 25:00
Congrats Samantha Fish, this is a testament of your years of hard work and dedication to your artistry. I’m sure there are tons of bands that are disappointed not making this list. Variety 50 Best Songs Of 2021: Samantha Fish, ‘Better Be Lonely’ at #45 Blues fans are not the type to always take kindly to one of their practitioners “going pop.” So Fish, who’s already at risk of seeming like an outsider in the genre just by virtue of being a female guitar-slinger, took some risk by going in a more commercial direction on her “Faster” album. But it paid off, as an amalgam of great hooks and the six-string prowess that brought her to the dance. “Better Be Lonely” is a particular delight - that riff and that chorus would be enough, but when she twins up that guitar part around the midway point, it turns into pure rock bliss.
So awesome seeing Samantha finally getting the recognition she so richly deserves. I’ve been following her for several years now and she’s really blossomed as an artist. But dang it Samantha, get your butt to Knoxville Tennessee so I can see you live!
Joe I love ya brother. I've always been a rock & metal dude but, I'm definitely moving into a heavy blues feel because of you. Thank You brother.....and Samantha you are gorgeous and a gorgeous player love ya!
This was so great... thanks for getting her on your show... I completely agree that “Kill or Be Kind” just put her off the charts as a blues gal...she’s my fav.. besides you. Lol. I listen to one of you everyday when I workout!! EVERY day❤️
We had a holy trinity of gigs lined up last year in London, 5th March Samantha Fish, 14th March Joanne Shaw Taylor and 19th March Chantel McGregor. We got the first two but covid killed the last one. Now I am looking forward to the UK tour early next year. I may just live in my car and try to get them all!
OMG!!!! That’s where I first saw you play... you had long hair .... I was there!!!!That’s when I decided you are the greatest guitarist I’ve known I’m my life... I knew you’d be a huge blues star. Got everything you’ve done since. 🙌❤️
She is the future. She can SING that shit and PLAY that shit. Nobody today in 2021 even comes close. She will only get better. She makes all the 'other' female famous' artists look like beginners. Her classic rock covers absolutely SMOKE because she can SING AND PLAY IT ...............LOUD .......! Her originals are like the killer British Amy Winehouse/Adele? & band with a guitar in her hands !
Joe's a great interviewer, I love his conversational and humorous style while still asking good questions. I've only seem a few of these, but will definitely listen to more.
I met her once when I played before her at the Bear Creek Blues Festival...she is really come a long way since then even my old bass player Chase Mcroy got to play with her in her band for a while....she owns the Lane she's driving and she is a STAR that's only gonna get bigger and brighter...😎👍👍
Samantha is the complete package: super talented, Fantastic live and having met her after her last London show... GORGEOUS.. Thanks Joe, you two in one show was the stuff of Legend..
I never wanted it to end!!! Two of my favorite artists! Thank you Joe for having her on the show 🙏(I totally agree with you, she seems like she’s on the verge of breaking big) But I just love her music and everything about her. I’m a guitarist/singer as well, so totally identified with everything you talked about. I think that was the best interview I’ve ever seen with Ms.Fish 🐠 ❤️👏 ...is it really over? Hope to see you both on the road soon!🔊🎸🎙maybe at the same show would be awesome!😎Thanks again.
@Joe Bonamassa ... Hey, I suppose you would like my Social Security #, Bank Account #, and birth date as well, LOL Why are you pretending to be Joe Bonamassa? 🤣
Two of my favorite performers. Joe is the best. Loved Samantha since the first time she played Telluride. I wanted to tell her that she would be headlining that gig soon.
I've yet to be impressed by her voice or playing. Seems that she relies more on her appearance. Admittedly, I've only heard two or three tracks. Hope I'm wrong! She does seem very nice, and down to earth.
@@carlwilliams6977 Seems that she relies more on her appearance What would you suggest? I don't listen with my eyes She relies on her playing and having a great band
So looking forward to hearing her jam on Keeping The Blues Alive at Sea VII in February 2022. Great interview Joe. You are a class act and I promise never to lick your hand ever!
If it wasn’t for this interview I would not know who this chick was, so of course I’m going to go watch some TH-cam videos of her performing now. I just realized my first blues concert was at the Armory auditorium in Oregon ,it was Fleetwood Mac in 1968 or 69’ with Peter Green & Jeremy Spencer or maybe it was Danny Kerwin ? At any rate it was awesome and the opener was Savoy Brown .
I think you won't be dissapointed. Samantha Fish is one of the new generation that let's me sleep well at night knowing the future of the blues is in good hands.
I had a really bad infection in my face and I was on Prednisone the last week of November.I ate an entire turkey in two days. It sure kicked out the swelling though. You two need to do some shows together. I saw the Cruise Ship show on TH-cam. Great Rockin. Thank you this interview with Samantha Fish. It's great to hear her reflections on the fame and the heart break of difficult times. Leperd print is.cool my granddaughter Chrissy wears it a lot. Oh definitely drenched in Blues. Not exactly traditional but that's definitely in the tool kit. Samantha's style is awesome and a joy to listen to.
Awesome Joe !! Sam recording with a gold top P90s at Abbey Rd - that would be superb - what an album that would be !! Sam you're amazing and such a sweetheart, absolutely beautiful. Just Wow !! I could listen to you for hours.
I missed Samantha in Portland, waited to long to buy my tickets to the sold out show! Covid locked down happened a few month later...please come back to the Pacific N. West!
Hi Joe, Hi Samantha. This crud ruined any possibilities of gigging. I want to get out there and hope to see your shows soon too. Being stuck in Northern Michigan is very depressing.
Another great interview. This is the second of these I've watched after Joanne Shaw Taylor (have to start with my two favorite musicians). The musician-to-musician dynamic is refreshing compared to most interviews. Glad you mentioned the Healers album. That one slipped through the cracks for me, so I'm literally buying it right now. Still have my ticket to see Samantha Fish live at the Troubadour in LA. It's been postponed multiple times by the pandemic, but I hope October's the charm. Grew up in Kansas, so I've seen Samantha at least six times live, and she's great every time. My favorite though was when I was living in DC for a year, and she did a concert at the national botanic garden for their summer roots music series. The concert got pushed inside because of the weather forecast, so there were like 25 of us sitting in three rows of chairs surrounded by orange trees and tropical flowers watching Samantha tear up the set, mostly material from Wild Heart at that time. Seeing my first live blues since the pandemic began tomorrow, Kim Wilson live at a bar with an outdoor patio area.
I haven't found a bad performance from Samantha. She gives each and every song 110%. You can't fake that or if you can it would show. She is a super star. I just feel bad for those that don't know it yet. One concert and they would be hooked. I like the fact Samantha is not specifically labeled as one genre or another. That is what makes her special.
@@leanidis300 My list is close to the same,Joanne Shaw Conner,Danielle Nicole, Ana Popovic ,and Ally Venable , by the time Ally is 30 she will reign as Queen, right now Ally is "Princess"
Joe Bonamassa, that was a great interview, if the whole music thing doesn't work out maybe you could get a gig with Rolling Stone. Not only was it fun to hear Samantha Fish open up and give a peak behind the curtain, but seeing you as the total groupie wide eyed fan was refreshing as well...you are human ! I haven't made any cigar box guitars( yet) but I do make a badass humidor, hit me up if you want a custom Joe Bonamassa marquetry humidor....yes, I am shameless, but also a wide eyed fan...Rock, or uh. I love Samantha Fish. So happy I found this interview. It is great! Two amazing musicians to say the least. ❤🔥🔥👏👏👏
She fills the Allman Brothers/Greg Allman void that's been missing. Songwriting, singing, guitar chops...
Please come back to Cincinnati both of you
