Imagine if things had been different - imagine if Tito and those around him had actually planned for what would come after him, and tried to get the economy functioning better. Perhaps those greedy men who exploited the system for their own gains would not have come to power and torn the country to pieces. It is amazing how this song has outlived the country it was created in, and is still so well known over there today.
I'm not really a hardcore Titoist/Communist but yeah, Yugoslavia was better when it was all united, from Tito's reign until the 80s. They picked a good job of choosing to be a neutral nation, becoming friends with some Warsaw Pact states and some NATO Countries, that includes the US, now the Balkans today is still a powder keg in Europe.
