Was just coming back to post about this. That hater guy is now going to go back on Guthrie’s channel and post about how “that guitar player doesn’t know shit about football either because the final score wasn’t 38-10, it was 34-10…so he were wrong.” 😂 Fuck him!
Pay the haters no mind. Your explanation is spot on for why they do it. We've all been there a couple times. Thankfully most of us grow up and realize where it's coming from. Thanks for the incredible tones, ideas and time you keep giving. Rock on. Safe travels.
Learned my first cowboy chords in 1970. I’m not afraid to say I’m still not very good but I still find it fun. I like watching people like you and Guthrie because I can appreciate how good you are and I am still learning albeit painfully slowly. So thanks.
I resisted your channel for a long time because I thought "this guy doesn't even know how to point a camera". But then I gave it an actual chance, and I soon discovered what a brilliant and diverse musician you are! Then I started listened to your rants and your teaching. I've been a guitarist for 54 years. Now I watch your stuff every day at least one video often several. I love the spontaneousness of it. It's almost like actually hanging out with you. I am 67 and still playing two gigs a week.
Yeah I agree. I’m 58 got my first guitar when I was about 7/8. I’m more musical in my playing from listening watching and lovin Uncle Larry for 3 months than the last 20yrs trying to get somewhere 😂
Dearest Tom, I'm eternally grateful that someone with your experience and perspective is willing to take the time to post content, not only is the guitar playing and musical insight unbelievable, but your general perspective on life is something to learn from......I spend hrs watching and more time trying to work out what you're playing, thanks so much for the gift of your time and experience....
I'm based in the UK. If I ever have a bit of money behind me pretty much the first thing I'll do will be to head to Nashville to hear you, Jedd and Guthrie play. Your channel never disappoints and neither do theirs! Keep on keeping on!
Silliness and brilliance throw in incredible classy playing comedy and lessons on guitar maintenance and every single video puts me instantly in a better mood.
What incredible playing uncle Larry that jam was insane! You really do make each note count that’s something I try to focus on in my playing. These always inspire me. Paused the video 5 minutes in and jammed for an hour! Thanks for all you do😎
That opening bit is like pecan pie ala mode. Just the right amount of bourbon in the pie recipe and some high quality vanilla bean custard, flavors that blend like they were meant for each other. Firing on all cylinders, Uncle Larry. Thank you!
discovered your channel a few months ago, Tom. I've learned a lot, and it has cheered me up in these dark days. Thanks for all the silliness, and guitar wizardry
Tom, you and Guthrie are incredibly inspiring, top-notch pros man i could listen to either one of y’all for hours a chair just noodling. Thanks for sharing your thoughts AND TALENT with us!!
I've also been playng for a long time and do need (a lot) all the beauty, music and wisdom you bring here! Thanks a lot for keeping it going! Hugs from Brazil!
As phenomenal as your playing is-and it never fails to kill and inspire- I actually enjoy listening to your observations and thoughts as much as your musicality. Funny, poignant and usually pretty freakin’ spot on. Thanks for being you.

Larry, you always speak the wisdom. Regarding TH-cam comments, yes, sometimes we come home after I few adult beverages after a challenging week, and we hear someone on the TH-cam say that AC/DC’s Back in Black is the, sonically, greatest album ever made, and we flip out.

I've got my ticket to the livestream tomorrow night and can't wait to see you guys rock the crowd at The Bitter End. Really looking forward to it! Cheers from south Louisiana.
Still one of the only channels I subscribe to……..because you created an honest, no smoke or mirrors, glimpse of a world that fascinates me. You are one of the few that bucks the cliche……those who can, do…those who can’t, teach. A leader in all sense of the word. Many thanks.
No reason for negativity! Out of all the guitar players on TH-cam you inspire me the most. Watching you play and trying to learn from you has taken my musical journey to another level. After 30 plus years of playing I finally got a Nobles odr1….wow! Next eq pedal. Much respect Tom keep the videos coming.
I've been away, but never gone. What an amazing, inspiring homecoming. As with so many other episodes, i could study this one endlessly to get all of the magic that you put into your intro. Still the baddest mofo in the game.
I've came across your channel relatively recently, (post Covid) and I can truly say that I found a gem! I am from the UK and this is my first message that I have posted on your channel. Your soul in your playing is always at the forefront and it is so deep and out there, it moves me to tears. To the nay sayer that you refer to here in this video, all I can tell them is that The Uncle is right. You clearly have issues and I feel sorry for you. The world is a difficult place it seems right now and you (Tom) bring so much light to this darkness that I just felt compelled to let you know what your playing does for me. You have such soulful expression in every note you play and I find it always moves me. I think I became aware of you via Guthrie who I discovered a few years before you and along with him, you are among my favourite players. That In Stereo show you did in August was fantastic. I wish I could have been there. Your solo with Vince on his song, Whenever you Come Around was absolutely sublime!. It was only a few bars and relatively simple, but from my own experience of playing live, to get that control of expression on that type of solo and to say it in exactly the way you want to say it is probably the hardest thing to pull off in a live situation. (Vince's and the audience's applause after should always confirm to you that you're saying it as it should be said!) So. I will just say thank you for your passion and thank you for the music. You make the world a better place!
Thank you Uncle Larry for your insight and the fact you keep it real! Thanks for all the tips and advice. At 65 and a “homeskooler” I’m learning from you every video! Thanks again!
Tom, everything you play sounds like music. Real music, with intention, sensibility and a passionate heart. Just as you been cheering us up these last years since the pandemic, really a big help. I am a session player here in buenos aires myself and the last years have been really difficult to many of us here, but watching your videos makes me realize every time the importance of why were are doing this and why there's no other way but to keep going. Thank you UncleLarry.
Tom thank you for being you we are the same age im stiil playing as much as I can but some times life gets in the way of live you are a hip cat keep on doing your thing it personally helps me you post thanx.
From someone who has gotten a lot of great guitar and musical inspiration, as well as many laughs, and occasional insights and challenges to some element of life from this channel, here’s a heartfelt thanks!!
man, no other channel gives me the good vibes, inspiration and nuggets of guitar wisdom that yours does... when I watch you play all I wanna do is go grab my guitar and try to get some of this shit under my fingers! gratitude man, thank you.
Uncle. I am an extremely busy guy otherwise. And always always thoroughly enjoy escaping the day with your vids. Never miss one. Keep up the great content.
Sitting here in the early morning with headphones, enjoying your latest offering. I look up and both the dog in my lap and my wife in the kitchen are both staring at me. Turns out, after you said “I know some other stuff”, I let out a laugh that was loud enough to get their attention. Good one!
Your videos are very inspiring and I always learn something precious from what you say and what you play, thank you for keeping the groove going and the dream alive!
Thanks again Tom for your great playing and insight! Forget the jealous haters, they're not worth the energy! I also have been playing longer than you've been alive. I'm ok, just play for the enjoyment, and the love of music. I used to gig out once in a while, but now just play at home, sometimes with friends. I so appreciate you all and follow all your channels. You could all out play me with your fingers taped together. I appreciate the time and effort it took for you to get where your at and to still be as humble as you all are amazes me. Thanks to all of you for sharing your gifts with us, Rock On!
Tom, if someone asked me to describe the perfect TH-cam channel it would be yours. Just the ideal combination of instructional type stuff, explained in a way I understand, and interesting/humerous commentary, from a guy with incredible knowledge of and taste in music. Heading to NYC tomorrow from Ottawa 🇨🇦 to catch the Wednesday night show. I’ll be the pudgy guy in the black t-shirt.
Your black Tshirt pentatonic wizardry is inspiring! I thank you for the free words of wisdom that brightens up my day every time a new episode hits. Thanks dude!
No joke Tom, this is my favorite TH-cam channel. Thanks for the laughs, chords and insightful ramblings. And if you're ever in need of a more "advanced" camera stand, let us know and we'll chip in.
Congratulations on your nomination at the 2024 CMA awards for MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR! • Tom Bukovac - Guitar • Jenee Fleenor - Fiddle • Paul Franklin - Steel Guitar • Rob McNelley - Guitar • WINNER: Charlie Worsham - Guitar
You are the best thing that ever happened to you tube. Learned a ton every time you play, plus I learned about Jedd Hughes from you, my all time favorite singer songwriter, who is a fine guitarist as well. I will be at your show tomorrow. Flying in from Cleveland.
Tom, your response to that guy literally made me laugh out loud while brushing my teeth this morning. My theory is similar to yours...just an insecure guy with no friends watching a bunch of other guys who are secure in themselves, having a great time together. Thanks again for the music and great youtube hang. Was vibing to that video. Can't even imagine how cool the show in NYC is going to be.
Well Unc, the saddest chord of all time has made it to the wall of fame in my classroom. One youngster asked why it was the saddest chord of all time and his buddy chimed in, because it makes you sad when you try to play it. Now mind you, they have only been playing guitar for a short while. I found it amusing, hope you have a good trip.
Tom: A great great channel always superb, you’re a Great Dad that’s the most important job. We all know that. The boys have a great future with You and Sarah’s talent and guidance. You are both very gifted hard working musicians and business people. Thanks for all you give to us learning students.
Brother , i heard you sing a few videos back and when you sang , it sounded good to me …. it was old soul sounding southern bluesy…. 10:19 - BAM 💥 just after i made the comment , you just confirmed 👍🏻 my observation ….. i hope to visit nashville someday and see you play , on my dream retirement tour of the U S of A ! 👍🏻💪🏻
Intense production deadline this week. Totally overdoing it, taking breaks for meals and anything the family desperately needs. But when my brain turns to mush and I simply can’t make one more note of music… a bit of Uncle Larry is good medicine. Thanks for keeping this going man.
17:10 My brother-in-law and I seek out your videos routinely: when together, we don't watch football, baseball, or hockey. We watch your stuff. The vids are often really funny, but also have the philosophy of music/guitar, and then the meat: the lessons/tips from a real session man. We are big, long-time fans from the days in the garage. Thanks for all the videos, Uncle Larry. As you would say, you are one baaaad boy.
This channel/the Homeskoolin' era is hands down the best thing to happen to guitar youtube in recent years. Anyone looking to hate on it needs to seriously re-evaluate their lives.
As a female blues artist since age 13, I get inspired by you all the time Uncle Larry. I'm older than you and I can kick your ass at something....I just gotta find it. (I know what it is, but won't say.) Keep loving your boys and cuddling your toys. The world is an interesting place.
Thanks for this Tom! Keeping me occupied while stuck in an airport for hours on end… also, downloaded the album you made with Gwen, and listened through it twice on the plane earlier today. Some exceptionally fine guitar playing on that record! 🍻
Wow Larry that 335 intro sounded fantastic. Thanks so much for your insights and occasional philosophizing about life. I always enjoy listening with a cup of coffee in the morning.
It may be natural to focus on the haters, the squeaky wheels who live to criticize as if a refusal to be pleased is a badge of honor. But that’s a deception designed to hide the shame that stinginess rightly breeds. Your sharing of knowledge and musical celebrations is a gift that brings sweetness and light to a starving universe. Your vids, Tom, attest to the powerful, elegant music that you deliver regularly to an appreciative fan base.
Oh my Uncle Larry, you have pulled off the scabs that needs pulling. Yep, the sign of a lot of hurt. Personally, i would be proud if i had the cred to sit in with this amazing, black t-shirt, pentatonic band. Hope he finds some peace. Your other comment is so true, when we take it all just a bit too seriously, and make music just a little too precious, we probably loose the magic. Thank you as ever keeping us real.
The universe has granted you a good living as a musician because you have worked very hard using the talent you were given. Hard work is the key to the universe.
Uncle Larry!!! I look so forward to your vids!!! That Lazy rendition was off the hook! You deserve to have the universe provide mass gigs to make it easy to survive this crazy life! I love you man! Have a great day/night!!!
I love when that iPhone audio compressor kicks in and holds a note while you are already on to the next one. By the time it releases it’s like you bent time and space.
I don’t think I’ve ever in my 68 years witnessed someone as in touch with the guitar as Little Tommy Bukovac from down the block. He’s a bad mutha (shut your mouth)!
It's true that people who are filled negativity are generally hurt people and lash out in part due to their own pain and insecurities. Don't listen brother. Keep doing what you do! Love the channel!
Man you've had some great intro jams over the years and this is up there with the finest. Trying to figure it out is fun and as always makes a guy play shit he's not used to playing. 👍
Always looking forward for next episode. You should put a masterclass called “pentatonic wizardry” I would buy it 😉 and I also “like it when cherry stays cherry” - I just realized how many different contexts that line makes sense 😅 you’re the man Mr.! Thank you for all the sharing and most importantly the honesty !
Well friends..I predicted in this video that Texans win 38-10
The final score was 34-10
Pretty damn close right?
I know Unc got a book, can’t be bothered with these phony apps.

Thanks for all the videos, Uncle Larry. As you would say, you are one baaaad boy.
Thank you brother
Safe travels to you and the rest of the band! I know you guys are going to kill it!!! Wish I could be there.
Hey Tom, your "noodling around" makes me smile and laugh with great admiration...and safe travels to NYC. Have some great shows! :)
This channel/the Homeskoolin' era is hands down the best thing to happen to guitar youtube in recent years. Anyone looking to hate on it needs to seriously re-evaluate their lives.
I can wholeheartedly agree with those positive comments. Your channel is the #1 positivity to my days
In 1973 I used to play Lazy as loud as I could through my Craig 8 track while driving fast in my hugger orange 57 Chevy. Brings back good memories.
Monster riff, gear band and feckin killer vocals by that Gillan guy, wtf. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
Nice one Tom. Great to hear an honest guitar tone played with no overkill distortion. Tone to the Bone dude! Greetings fron France!
Tom, you are a great guy and a world class guitarist. I enjoy watching and listening .keep on trucking
Thanks for all you do Tom. Feel very privileged to follow your channel
Nice to see and hear the red 335 again, that guitars hungry man, i can hear it
Incredible playing Tom. ❤
Oh great, another black t-shirt wearing pentatonic playing LEGEND. Love you Tom!
At least it's not a black Gildan t-shirt 😂😂😂
Very beautiful! Lovely chords!
Ignore the d-bags. Thank you for all you've done for us. Can't wait to see you guys in Chicago. Got my tix a few days ago.
I’ve been watching since the Coronavirus Lesson and check every day to see if you have posted anything. Thanks for everything!
