OMG, I adore this song - definitely one of my faves! As you noted, lyrically, Tatiana takes on the role of Mother Nature lamenting the fact that she has created this voracious, "bloodthirsty ape who walks upright", so yes, there's definitely some anger in it. Musically, I consider this song to be one of their pre-eminent "heavy jazz" songs. The 1st section especially gives me avant-garde jazz vibes because it has such a chaotic feel, & yet it is obviously very precisely planned & executed & not at all improvisational. Over the course of a mere 3 1/2 minutes, this song moves absolutely seamlessly through 8 highly distinct movements (time references relative to OMV): 1. The Beginning of All Beginnings (begins 0:07). 2. Voracious Ape Who Walks Upright (begins 1:01). 3. He Who Calls Himself Intelligent (begins 1:15). 4. I Made a Mistake When I Created You (begins 1:33). 5. Oh Here You Go (begins 1:43). 6. Blast (begins 2:09). 7. Just the Mention of Your Name (begins 2:22). 8. Bloodthirsty Ape Who Walks Upright (begins 2:52). The transitions are amazingly smooth. As in so many Jinjer songs, Tatiana exhibits an astonishing range of vocal styles, from deep, snarly growls to Gwen Stefani cutesy to soulful blues runs to shrieks of pure existential outrage. And honestly, how could anyone possibly be cooler than she is in this video? Limitless charisma! I love the progression from movement 5 through the end, especially the bluesy vocals of movement 7 leading into the brutality of movement 8...what an ending! This is one of those Jinjer songs where there's *a lot* going on, so it took a while for me to fully appreciate it. But those are the Jinjer songs that really reward patience & open-mindedness.
You've already done my favorite... I think my favorite is Teacher Teacher but I go back and forth between that one and Vortex. Perennial rounds out my top 3.
You named all the great moments in this video👌 Love your emotions ❤ The next should be The Prophecy official video. It continues the theme of anthropology 😉
I'll be there. My Prof x Ren "Pain Salesman" reaction was the first one posted worldwide (by 45 minutes, thank you), but I'm not likely to achieve that again. That being said, I'll post it the second I'm done making the thumbnail. You betcha.
and if your lucky it will drop at 9pm for those on the west coast because it will have dropped at midnight for the east coast folks! Can’t wait for the new single 🤘🏽
Favorite Jinjer song, if I had to pick only one, is likely Pit of Consciousness. Ape is the video where Tati looks like a Mortal Kombat character. "Tatiana Wins. Brutality!" If you havent recorded On The Top Yet [insert the Wolf's voice from Pulp Fiction]....pretty please with sugar on top, do the fucking Live In Kiev version. Toodles 👋 😊
@@VocalCitizen the "look at me" growl from the end of Call Me A Symbol followed by a high kick with a spiked heel through the head and a very slow pull out of said spiked heel from head.
Hello Deborah! The extraordinary thing is that there is not a single favourite song for me, there is one for my every single mood, in every moment... I can't wait for the new song. I suppose that it's a question of few hours also here in the old Europe. Thank you as always😊
It's jinjer time you know I'm here actually sitting in the car and then you popped up have a blessed day I'm happy now. Fun fact you can tell the jinjer time line by the number of tattoos that Tatiana has😂😂😂
Well, well,,, actually there is kind of part 2 of that song: Where in "Ape" Mother Nature is only pissed, in "The Prophecy" she is really pissed OFF! Try it out! 😁🤘
I thought I sent you the scardust link. Ty for the shout out either way. But if I shot the wrong thing, no biggie. But you see what I mean with the many looks.
Fun fact- in the official music video Pisces, Tatiana clean sings and belts the lyrics “Searching for a hook to catch on and see their sun beam”. Tatiana has always performed those lyrics in harsh vocals while touring live and has never performed them with clean vocals.
Fun Fact #1: this was the first song that Vlad wrote for the band, everything he had been playing with them up until this record (an EP called Micro) was composed by other drummers. As the first single from the EP, it got mixed reviews because it was a such a departure from their previous sound and musical style. Many people criticised them for not keeping in the same path and stopped following them and many people, myself included, began to like them even more. The 2nd single, Perennial, kind of appeased the masses and many people gradually started accepting that Jinjer doesn't make music to please the fans, they make the music that they like to make. Fun Fact #2: some guy here on YT liked the last 26 seconds of the song so much that he made a video with those 26 seconds on loop for 56 minutes! If you want I can provide the link. Speaking of links, did the link for their original bio that I posted in your other reaction video get through YT's "censorship" department? I'm asking because there have been some instances where the links I posted in my comments were deleted by the YT bots.
@@VocalCitizen - As expected, the YT bots spotted the link and deleted my comment with the link on your Audiotree reaction video. I posted it again there but as a non-clickable link so that they won't detect it. Just follow the instructions that I posted there on how to make it an active link. 🙂
Even though you aren't getting a ton of views from the Jinjer fanbase I'm glad you are still going through them. I must say I wish you would always have the lyrics at hand for every reaction though. I know you like to have a pure first impression, but I think a lot of people have come to enjoy your perspective on what they write rather than what you think they are saying, IMO. You have something unique when you don't miss bars. Lol!! That being said when it comes to the non-video songs that remain, may I suggest (Supreme Undead's) lyrics channel for those tunes or Jinjer's official channel with lyrics on the side. Thx and sorry for my shitty grammar I don't reach out much so I'm out of practice. 😋
Every time I try to think of my favorite Jinjer song, I end up listing all of them. But some of them feel especially powerful to me because of the theme of humanity's greed, narrowmindedness, and stupidity leading to the destruction of life on earth: some, but not all of these: Ape, The Prophecy, Noah, Bad Water, Outlander, and I put Pisces in this category because even though it's clearly about a vulnerable person being hurt, when I hear it, the vulnerable person is all of humanity and the Emeralds being ripped away are life on earth which is about to be ripped away.
That was beautifully put. Thank you for that. I've always likened Mother Earth to a cat with ear mites: The cat twitches and shakes and bathes on occasion to clear the population a little, but when she's finally had enough, the claws come out and she attacks the problem en masse. And Mother Earth's hissing for us to stop. We should listen.
Strap It In: This just hammers the clutch from the first note. Not necessarily a song you are gonna hum in your head later on, but Vlad wrote a beauty while listening to it. While songs like Sit, Stay, Rollover and Call Me A Symbol are more traditionally "brutal", from my personal experience Ape was their most savage song seeing them live. They played all there of these songs the last time I saw them and all were great, but Ape just exploded out of the amps. Anyhoo, have a great fucking day and keep rocking. 🤘
Favorite Jinjer song? Whichever one Im listening to at the moment.....but if forced to pick only one, I'd have to say Wallflower. Being a bit of an introvert, more comfortable in my own head than dealing with other people's BS, the message reonates.
Nice... I'm classified as an introverted extrovert. I tend to be overly animated when around people, but I prefer my cave. That's why a reaction channel made sense. 😜
Too many solid songs to really pick a favorite. It's like Iron Maiden, maybe a favorite from each album??? Overall it's just too constricting to pick one song. Congrats on 4k! Keep up the unique perspective and infectious personality! 🤘

I'm still clinging onto "I Speak Astronomy" as my favorite.
I'll be doing dishes and will randomly sing it like my life depends on it.
I think "The Prophecy" is my fave Tati look - and a nice companion to "Ape."
So I've heard. I will be checking that track out soon.

Deathroar, must be deathroar!
