You're right. The vitamin C face serum and sun screen from litteleextra rice berry have really improved my skin. In the past fifty days, they're the only things that have helped me. I've already finished 1 bottle of each. With my sensitive, dry skin and my tendency to not do much for it, these have been a lifesaver. They feel light and absorb into my skin easily. My complexion appears brighter, even toned, and younger. Even blemishes and acne marks are starting to fade. My skin feels much smoother and more hydrated Now I'm looking forward to find a toner that suits well for my skin too.
Had to pause at 4 minutes in. The Ordinary say that none of they do not sell their products on amazon and they don't have any sellers on amazon so I wouldn't buy my vitamin c powder there. I've bought so much stuff on amazon pertaining to be one thing but very far removed from the actual product e.g. olaplex no 4. Bought on amazon and bought from a licenced retailer and there was a world of difference in the texture of the two. Looking forward to this new recipe Kimberley. Thanks for keeping our skin as healthy as it can be.
Great video on DIY Vitamin C. I also do mine at home. Just a few things, as you say one can play around with the percentage of the ingredients. I respectfully disagree. For example, as Vitamin C is an acid, you want to make sure that your end product has the right pH which should be apporox. 3.5. You can regulate the pH-value with adding baking soda and use pH test strips to check the finished product. Regarding Glycerin, I use a 5 - 10 % amount. Glycerin helps to hold moisture in your skin, but if you use too much of it in a product, it might have the contrary effect and draws 0:10 water out of your skin. Hope this information is helpful. Keep on doing your DIYs please. Your skin looks amazing!
Love this recipe! Ive been following cosmetic dermatologist Shereene Idriss Channel she is based in NYC. You mentioned that the glycerin doesn't serve a purpose other than slip. According to according to the doctor glycerin is wonderful for holding in moisture and hyloronic acid only dries the skin. So adding the glycerin to the vitamin C is an excellent idea!! Thanks also for the tip on topical versus Ingested vitamin C, I didn't know that!
True, Glycerin is a good Humectant, I also like the idea of adding it to the serums for hydration purposes! But btw, Hyaluronic Acid is also an humectant. Dr. Idriss has a particular disdain for it, but Any Humectant used without an occlusive will dry the skin out, not just HA. If you check out other dermatologist and cosmetic chemists, they don't put HA completely aside.
Dr Idriss is a wonderful doctor , unfortunately a skin care advice is for lighter tone skins and can cause serious irritation. Dr Vanita Rattan and Alexis Stephens gives good advice for people with skin of color

Since your first diy Vit C video I have made my own and used it together with TO Resveratrol and Ferulic acid. It is so inexpensive that I use it on my body too. I do however adjust the PH-Value to just below 3,5 with a tiny bit of baking soda (saw it on Labmuffins video on diy Vit c) - that way it is less irritating on the skin.
@@kalondiacasey My recipe for a Vit C serum just under 20% (50 ml bottle) is: 1,5 teaspoon Ascorbic acid, 2 teaspoons of water and mix then until the ascorbic powder is dissolved, then 1 teaspoon of glycerin and then I top up with water till there is 50 ml and mix again. Then I check the PH (with ph strips) and adjust with baking soda (very little) to a ph just below 3,5. I keep it in a dark dropper bottle in the fridge and it is good for at least 2 weeks - by that time I have used it all up (because I also use it on my body). Hope this helps🙂
Hi Kimberly. I used the Timeless Vit. C prior to making my own. I made your recipe for the Vitamin C 20% and added Vitamin E oil to it. I keep it in brown 1 oz. dropper bottles in my fridge. Also, be sure to check the pH level of your serum since our skin can't absorb the Vitamin C if it's higher than a pH of 3.5. If it's too acidic, you can buffer with baking soda to get it closer to 3.5.

So excited for the new vitamin C recipe. I ordered everything from your old diy vitamin C recipe but haven’t made it as I heard you say shortly after seeing the video you were going to update or have a upgraded recipe so I waited. Just have to get the Glycerine and the Distilled Water and I will let you know how it goes for me. Thank you so much for this recipe.
Hi Kimberly! Thank you for the updated recipe. 🥰 I’m one of those people who turn an unflattering shade of orange (including my nails) when I use DIY Vitamin C recipes that don’t contain Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid. In fact, I thought I had to use a Vitamin C derivative until I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Timeless Vitamin 10% C Serum. Holy cow…did it ever make a HUGE difference in my skin after just a few uses and no orange anything! I’ve been using it on my face, neck, décolletage, and the backs of my hands. I immediately noticed how much more glowing, soft, and smooth my skin was, but the biggest change was on my hands. I haven’t been as diligent with skin care on my hands and have been shocked with the increase of crepiness and wrinkles on the back of my hands. I’m 62yo and my face doesn’t look it, but my hands (and my neck) surely do and maybe even older. 😰 After using the vitamin C serum on the backs of my hands every day, that crepey skin and finer lines are nearly gone! GONE! I knew vitamin C was good for evening the skin tone, fading hyperpigmentation, and necessary for collagen production, but had NO idea it would have this much effect on the wrinkles and texture of my skin. My hands are also softer and I believe they’re doing a better job of holding hydration. Is that even possible?! Obviously, I would love to bathe in this stuff and now that you’ve given us a recipe, I want to start using it extensively on my body where I have some old sun damage…my arms especially. Did you say you have a pdf of your new recipe? I looked in the description box and also on your blog and couldn’t find it. I’m just thrilled to have another recipe that shouldn’t turn me orange 🍊 and costs a fraction by DIY! 🥰

Hi Kimberly. I have been using L’Oreal pure Vit C (in a tube) for about 2 months. It has helped my discoloration a little but not as good as I had hoped. I’m going to screenshot the recipe and write down the new one. I’m going to try this as soon as the new tube is gone, or maybe I’ll do both. If you add a little more glycerine and make it thicker will it be harder to absorb into the skin? Also, is there an expiration date on the powder? Thanks so much for this video. I’m 62 and beside you people would say I’m 72. I’m eleven months younger than my sister and Everyone who doesn’t know us always thinks I’m older. I want my face to look my age at least or younger! I’m very excited to try this. You are so beautiful and have such great skin. I want to be pretty over 60. Much love sweet lady! God bless! P.S. I heard a dermatologist on utube say that over 10% was a waste, that 10% is the ‘sweet spot.’ I’m assuming from your research that you didn’t find that to be true?? Thanks again ❤️🌹
This is great. I make my own hylauranic acid serum with affordable powdered hylauranic acid I wonder if a scoop of it would play nice with your recipe to give yet another multipurpose benefit.
Hi Kimberly, Has your hyaluronic acid serum ever smelled bad after about 4 days? Like baby spit-up? I’ve followed your recipe, taken care with using clean utensils and pump bottle. The first batch lasted a month. But the second and third batches have smelled like baby vomit after just a few days, and I’m concerned about possible bacteria. Can you help me troubleshoot this? I love the results otherwise! Thanks!
You mentioned a downloadable PDF but I didn’t see it in the description box. The blog website only has the old recipe as a downloadable PDF. Can you update the PDF to the new recipe??
Hi. I am a bit confused. Your video recipe is very easy to follow, but it's differentiate from your PDF. Your PDF 20% vit C suggests 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp of base.. And in your video, you are adding 4.5 tsp of the base. Can you please clarify? Also, oils and water won't emulsify at least you use an emulsifier. Oils were simply floating on top of the solution and the rest were on the walls of the mixing jar. Thank you 🙂
I would recommend getting ph strips to check it to make sure it match the skin and add a preservative (optiphen, germaben, etc are just a few). Anything mixed with water needs a preservative. Overall great video and lovely smile.
huh? never heard of that - sounds complicated. You may have been misinformed. Please provide your data. I've never heard an doctor say this. All the best to you.
okay. I found your PDF. You are using 3 tsp of water with 1/4 of C, that is approx 5% vit c, if I follow your PDF. To be 20% should be 1t of Base, assuming "t" is a teaspoon on your PDF. Also water with oil without a preservative it will not last long. Maybe adding more Ordinary products wich they have preservative on it would be better, or adding the Vit C powder to the Ordinary mix???
Hi. I have the same powder but mine doesnt mix wirh the water, When I leave the bottle at the counter for few hours, I can see the powder goes down and sits at the bottom of the bottle. Do you think it's fake?

Do you use H.A as well
Thanks
Oh my goodness I will definitely be trying this!!!!!!
I watched the video a couple of times. I don't think you actually added any vitamin C powder in the video. I might be crazy, but I think you might have skipped adding that. Thanks for all your great videos! You've got me drinking chaga tea and contemplating microgreens along with improving my skin care and make up routine!
I just finishing watching it; indeed she did add the Vit. C powder!
First thing added to the water
I don't see the link to the new recipe.
Thank you so much appreciate your upgraded version getting my ingredients to do this. Excited! 😀
Wow this is awesome! Thanks!!
Kimberly, you are the best! I have cut down skincare product spending and this indeed supports my plan. I'm copying you. I like DIY things. Thank you!
Hmmm, something new to look into. BTW, I love the Revlon styler/dryer you recommended! Thanks for the great tips.
Great recipe! Would you consider doing a review with pictures on good ORGANIC FOUNDATIONS? Thank you!
Been waiting for this ! Thank you !
Thank you Kimberly! I can’t wait to get my ingredients! They are all in stock today on 6/2/2022!🎉🎉🎉
I heard keeping it in the frig keeps the efficacy. Have you heard this as well?
Is the consistency supposed to be like water? If so how do your apply this to your face?
I can’t wait to make my own Vit C serum! Do you use this in the morning or night?
Love it!! Gonna go to Amazon right now and order, and make my own 😊 thank you so much for this video ❤
Can't find the PDF. Please provide the complete receipe for the new one. Thanks!
Do you use the DIY, or do use the vitamin C from your most recent updated am skincare. I have heard you mention that you use it everyday. Which is it?
Thank you Kimberly
Hi Kimberley love this I’m going to have a go at this I love these videos take care 🌸🌼🌹🌺
Kimberly, I love your channel! Thank you for all you share :)
Oh I’m so glad I’ve found you❤
Hi again Kimberly, I thought those were Peepers u was wearing. I’ve got a pair ready to order. Oprah’s favs. The style your wearing looks very nice on you.
Love your helpful video's👏
How is your hair treatment going? It didn’t work so well on me!
Hi Kimberly, I can't find the .PDF of the different %'s of the serum. Would you mind linking please. Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing the beauty tips.
Thanks for the new recipe going to give it a try! I am so tired of paying big money for "medical grade" vitamin C serums but Truth Treatments does work great for my skin it's just so expensive. I am having issues the PDF recipe doesn't seem to be working???
Love all you share! I am having trouble getting your outline of your new Vit C recipe with amounts to use for different percentages which u said You would share. Help, please. Gayle
Can you add a hyaluronic serum to this? Or do each application separate?
Could you add hyalauronic acid powder to this or would that not work as well?
May I ask your recipe
What is your recipe please?
Can i mix this with rose water?
Thank you 💞
Hi Kimberly,
Has your hyaluronic acid serum ever smelled bad after about 4 days? Like baby spit-up? I’ve followed your recipe, taken care with using clean utensils and pump bottle. The first batch lasted a month. But the second and third batches have smelled like baby vomit after just a few days, and I’m concerned about possible bacteria. Can you help me troubleshoot this? I love the results otherwise! Thanks!
I give up! How do I get to the PDF for the NEW Vit C serum?
You mentioned a downloadable PDF but I didn’t see it in the description box. The blog website only has the old recipe as a downloadable PDF. Can you update the PDF to the new recipe??
How long does the serum last?
I'm not locating the PDF that you mentioned. Could you point me to it?
Thanks!
your skin looks great so you must be doing something right
Id skip the vitamin e. It dlesnt reslly mix with water very well and you need some kind of emulsifier to mix it in water.
Hi Kimberly have you made an eyelash serum diy?
I haven't!
Awesome! Thank you !
What kind of retinol do you use?
Thank you 🙂
Yes, the measurements don’t make any sense. The new version has way too much water compared to the PDF version. I hope you can clarify.
Yes we need the recipe in percentages rather than measurements.
I love the shade of your lipstick during this video , what one is it please
That's Girls Trip from Huda Beauty (one of my favs!)
Where is the new pdf.. also, is this one shown the 20% vitamin c? Thank you.
Thank you very much from Mexico
I would recommend getting ph strips to check it to make sure it match the skin and add a preservative (optiphen, germaben, etc are just a few). Anything mixed with water needs a preservative. Overall great video and lovely smile.
I must respectfully disagree. Vitamin C serum needs to be acidic, 2.5-3.5, to be effective.
huh? never heard of that - sounds complicated. You may have been misinformed. Please provide your data. I've never heard an doctor say this. All the best to you.
Yes to the broad spectrum preservative! Without it you're serum will grow microbes in a matter of days and you'll be rubbing that on your face.
Love your franes!!
Hi. I have the same powder but mine doesnt mix wirh the water, When I leave the bottle at the counter for few hours, I can see the powder goes down and sits at the bottom of the bottle. Do you think it's fake?
Hi Kimberly, thank you for the new recipe... but I have a question?? My husband tells me that I smell like "burnt" with my Vit C that I make. Do you have the same comment from your "close" loved ones? Louise xx
Amazing video!
OMG turned me orange!I was in love with this recipe and used it for months until I finally realized it was making my face orange. People were asking me if I was tanning…I never tan!!Anyone else? So sad because I like the cost and convenience of DIY serum. 😢 not sure why it happened with me.
You must remake frequently and not let it get oxidated. Maybe we’re you using while it turned in color? Just a thought.
Nope I made small batches and used it up before it oxidized which you can tell by the color. Unfortunately I had to return to my tried and true Timeless brand. Not as budget friendly but my face doesn’t look like an Oompa Loompa.
Do u make this every 2 wks
