    Another Great Episode, Sir. I would like to add 3 more points from my historical knowledge on Mongols and Athletic Background:
    1) Mongolians were known for their mobility and forced marches. A single horse rider carried multiple horses to switch. They even drank horse blood during forced marches when supplies were short.
    2) The Mongolian Steppes have a very harsh extreme weather spectrum. Which is why the steppes produced hardened men. It's not just about strength and endurance but mental fortitude.
    3) Their tactics were mainly focused on cavalry horse archery that was hard to deal with, especially for Europeans who used to fight in heavy armour and formations. Mongols tricked feigned retreats, employed Parthian tactics, harassed the enemy and charged in the end when enemy's morale was faltering. This was all very unconventional for the enemy to handle.

    #AskAbhijit What is your view on The Maratha Empire? People must know that British took over from The Marathas and not Mughals as Mughals declined because they were defeated by the Marathas. Its evident from the fact that there's Anglo-Maratha War and not Anglo-Mughal War.

    • @ancientruins2856

      Deb - You do make a very important point here as Maratha empire had defeated the sly mughal's where they sold their souls to the British invaders to get as much benefits they could get. It is a shame the end legacy they left where british rule destroyed INDIA beyond repair for a long time. CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ or his empire would have been better replacement then the greedy BRITISH of the time.

    In my opinion, one of the key factors in Mongol military success was the Great Hunt that they would routinely engage in. They would encircle a large geographic area, in multiple bands, and herd the game into a diminishing circle. The logistics & communication required to do this effectively was amazing. But this is how they got the food they needed to survive the winters in the steppe. When they took those skills onto the battle field, it was absolutely devastating. Not only were they able to communicate well, but because of those skills developed during those hunts they were able to also operate and think independently as units. Incredible flexibility.

    I learnt an interesting piece of information from a book by Margaret MacMillan (which I think is pretty cool to mention in the context of this video)... one of the secrets to success of the Mongolian invasions is that they wore silk shirts, to prevent arrow heads from penetrating into their bodies, or at least limit their impact. • @nyamsurent3226
      @nyamsurent3226 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      If you are asking about communications during battle. 1st Every thing were planned and informed before the battle. 2nd There were arrows for signals (commands). That makes different noise. 3rd But most important thing is organization. You only need to command 9 or 10 people. It doesn't matter which command level you are at.

    Interesting to hear a different point of view about him. I wonder what you would be saying if Genghis Khan had invaded India ? The reason why the Mongols didn’t colonise their vast Empire is because they didn’t have time or a big enough population, etc. What puzzles me is that providence seemed to protect India 🇮🇳 from the likes of Alexander and Genghis. But not from the Muslim hordes and the British. WHY ?!

And because of this, many of my friends would considered me as a boring person... Like who wants to learn the past or remember the dates... So I focused less upon the dates as if I wanted to get them perfect that would obviously confuse me and sometimes make things wrong... So yes I agree much more upon your point of not giving all the importance to perfect dates... Regardless you are interested in the event being truly happened in the past... 🙏
