Looking good! Have you ever tried deck rails? I recently tried deck rails and instantly loved them when it comes to board slides on rails. The added stability is so nice. Keep up the good work! 👊
Great job relearning the board slides. You’ve got it! Just keep doing them and you’ll get more confident. Then, you can add speed. I can backside slide on anything, but frontside slides still scare me 🫣. Great video and tips!
I don't think of myself as a board slide guy because I don't do them at my park at all really. However, when I travel I tend to hit a flat bar. I did take my flat bar to my park one day and go all in on Frontside boardslide. I believe it took me 79 tries to get the first one. I got 3 that day, but haven't done them again. I was hyped though. Stay Rad Sir.
@@Damoforce it isn't the size of our rails it is that they are all into or out of a bank. It makes the roll-up or coming out of it uncomfortable for me.
getting comfortable going faster and doing longer powerslides (and mastering them) will help (preferably on not too steep downhill grades or on surfaces that allow you to ride that powerslide longer)- yah you don't have a rail underneath you, but you still need to master that interplay between leaning too far backwards or forwards while your wheels slide (not to mention your body is in the same position as a rail slide while power sliding)- the same physics can apply to the board slide with slight variation due to having to account for balancing on a rail- (and you dont have to force the wheels into a slide)

Nah I have not, I feel like I would slide way quick haha. I guess it would be one of those things to get used to

Thanks! Will do, I'm trying to skate more - with more time hopefully things become a little better. Appreciate the comment.

Love it! I also do that, learn a trick and never do it again. My bad habit haha
@@Damoforce I need to take the flat bar back out and get after it.
@@AdventuresInSkateboarding Is there not a little one at a park near by? I'd like a lower square one to 50-50 haha

Not bad given it’s been a long time since you did them. I reckon the practice steps just helped you ease into it before hitting the round rail.
Thanks, yeah for me I think it's about building some confidence and lubing myself up bahaha
@@Damoforce lubing up sounds about right 😂

Well done, Damo. You're a braver man than me 😆
Haha I doubt that, ol Mr Snail over here haha

I get what you mean and see how this can transfer over! Thanks for the comment and tip. It's something I never really practiced was the powerslide

With FS boards body needs to be sorta facing the way you slide so don’t dip your head down kinda stay upright twist shoulders to the front
Thanks for the tips!! I know what you're talking about, I think this helps coming back to regular as well?
Speed helps. Squat. Bend your knees. Don't lean too far forward or backwards. Helmet too for trying something new haha.
Thanks! Yeah, speed my enemy haha. But all those tips I have to remember. Especially bending my knees too. Really appreciate the tips & comment.
