Thanks so much Derek for making this video! I'm afraid to open up mine due to all the small gears and parts since I am a newbie as well as paranoid to mess things up worse here. LOL Otherwise- It appears that the inner track platform is loose on my end and so possibly is what is interfering with the gears staying in working motion as if I push one of the cars it tries to go but of course quickly stops. Dom from San Francisco..
Very thorough teardown. I know lots of folks have been complaining abut the reliability of this piece, straight out of the box! Sigh. How do you like your mini electric driver? I'm looking at getting one ant that brand looks pretty good.
Mine is the Gen 1, The new ones are better. But overall it helps with hand fatigue and it comes with more bits than I will ever use, which is nice. The battery lasts a long time which is surprising to me since the torque on some of these screws should drain it fast.
Awesome video! The issue I’ve found with mine is that the micro gear with the square shaft on the inside of the motor has a couple teeth wiped out. Not sure if that’s a gear that I can buy off the internet though
Argh - mine too. I bought one at Michael's on Clearance - said it wasn't working. Tore it down and found that the same gear had a stripped section. What is the logic for having the single metal gear in that gearbox? Seems silly to have a metal gear meshing with a plastic one... The metal gear in mine was also showing signs of corrosion... the grease around it was contaminated with (what looks like) rust. Does anyone know the approximate RPM of the out put gear that drives these platforms? I suppose I can fire up the other one and have a look. Perhaps I can swap in a small gear motor to resurrect it.
Cavolo volevo comprarlo ma mi sa che rinuncerò 😢 grazie per il tuo video🙏🏻

@@RandomJunkChannel Thanks, that's all the endorsement I need. 👍 I was just working on a pirate ship and had lots of screws to turn.

That is the gear that fails on everyone I have seen. I haven't been able to locate a replacement yet.
