The amount of power that is unleashed with that 14.5 PSI turbo-pressure, that's just insane.

Well, you're adding one full atmosphere at that level.
You should double the NA HP at that boost level.
So, it wasn't all that crazy...still impressive though

The top end flows very well. Doubled the output basically. Older engines typically need 2+ bar to do that. 😮😮😮

Great test! I have a 2021 LV1/8L90E set up with 2 miles on it (from a Express van) for my 87 Buick T-type (refuse to LS swap it)…Im glad there is finally some support …I am looking to keep the DI along with port injection (GM ECU/Holley EFI combo) Turbo (S476), ported heads with head studs and may do a rod/piston upgrade or just a ring gap (looks like the stock rods and steel crank should live to about 800FWHP) , I’ve seen the BTR Trinity GEN V Intake used on one of these (modified) looks like it works well….Great work SPDC👍👍👍

Question for you bc I’m considering doing something with my lv3, how do you figure that the bottom end is good for that extra horsepower?

    • @jsanch1892
      @jsanch1892 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@mattferraro9124 well for starters it’s a mini GENV LT…so all the hardware, pistons, rods, valvetrain components cross over…the block has oil squirters, steel crank (despite having offset journals), 6.125” rod from the factory…in stock form with proper tuning I’d bet it would take 800hp …a rod and piston upgrade may push that close to 1000hp (crank and head sealing being the limit)….upgrading the valvetrain to take some rpm would help a stock bottom end live (limit low end power ) rpm would be your friend …lastly this engine plain and simply is way better than a built Buick V6 and we know how good those can be….

Allison 1000 would be a waste. They don't spin high RPMs with them. Everything an Allison 1000 has been behind doesn't spin past 5000rpm including the Vortec 8100 big block which was found in front of the 1000 series from 2001-2007. A build 6L80 or a ZL1 spec 6L90 would be more than enough behind a 6000-700hp 4.3 LV3.

Hi Rindo, so in our longer video we go over the reasons why we did what we did with the hodge-podge mess of LS3 intake, port injection, etc but I'll be glad to enlighten you.
We had 2 days to get this done as it was the only open slot between customer engines. It's a customer engine validation tool first and once in awhile we get to run some R&D components on it.
Because of that, we had zero flex-time to try and make a stock pcm run in standalone let alone play nice on the dyno. So if it wouldn't fire up, or limited rpm/throttle because it didn't see a specific module or signal, the whole session would be toast. We didn't have time to work with the Gen V LT's parameters especially with max torque and driver demand. Our guy in house that tunes the Gen V LT stuff was going to be out of pocket that week as well. We were even on the horn with our contacts with Holley to see if there was any possibility to run their GDI controller on the V6 but that was a non-starter. If we had two weeks of open dyno time to make it play nice, we would have.
What we did have was the stuff to make a port injection setup work and we've run multiple Gen V LT V8s in that format problem free.
Main goal was get the NA cam comparisons between the Non-afm cam and our two performance grinds, adding the turbo kit was just icing on the cake of "if we make the first part work and have a little time to play."
Here's the longer process here, enjoy the V8 LT headers with the capped off unused primaries: th-cam.com/video/koAvUM4wVcQ/w-d-xo.html

@@jamesgeorge4874 the point was that this is the only place you will see such a mess of an engine. The E92 is used on all the gen V LS stuff, of which you can find plenty of people doing turbos and such with on TH-cam. This stuff has been around over 9 years! Which is my point, these guys had 9 whole years to figure out gen V stuff, and instead they do this crap. Who else would ever do something so ridiculous? You going too do this to an lv3 you own??

Is anyone else having trouble finding turbo headers for their 4.3?

    • @Sdpartscenter

Because (so far) they don't exist at the moment. All the turbo cars w/ the LVx stuff are using custom made headers or using the stock manifolds like we did.
