- A collision on the 110 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles caused some drivers to make chaotic and illegal traffic decisions on Sunday morning. KTLA's Gene Kang reports on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024

And that's why the accident happened in the first place. People are always in a rush to go nowhere.
I used to go on drives for fun, but stupid drivers have taken the fun right out of it making being on the road more stressful than ever.

Lol! We were talking about this yesterday and came to the conclusion that there are two types of drivers. 1. The ones that know how to get to their destinations without being in a rush and 2. The ones that are in a rush taking the chances of getting into an accident or endangering other commuters.

It ISN'T ILLEGAL to lane change, it is illegal to excessively lane change. The speeders to it alot.
You're correct...it's not against the law to change lanes when those lanes are seperated by a broken white line & when it is safe to do so. However, IT IS ILLEGAL(not to mention _extremely unsafe)_ to intentionally cross over a solid white boundry line... _up & over a concrete median,_ over/across a solid yellow shoulder/edge of pavement line & merge onto an adjacent access road where cars are traveling at highway speeds...just to avoid the inconvenience of having to sit in a traffic jam.
@@purdyboi807 as far as I’m concerned, when car dependency leads, as it always does, to car crashes, the rule book goes out the window and all bets are off. You don’t like it? Then fix the problem that lead to the crash in the first effing place: bad design that lead to unsafe speeds.
LA drivers are the worst
Having driven extensively in both LA and Dallas, TX, I think Dallas is actually worse now. Believe it or not, they’re even MORE aggressive and ruthless than in LA somehow.
Salt Lake City is not far behind. Try going through there on I-15 in the morning rush or afternoon rush.

There's also a HIGH population in L.A. CA is the most populated state in the country. About 38 million people. I was born and raised there, but left in 1976 to move to O.C. Left there in 1989. Still in CA though.

In the 80s and 90s CHP was a constant presence, always out and visible. It kept things flowing fairly well. I don't know who is responsible for getting rid of them, now the only time you see them is cleaning up the carnage. CA freeways have become a dangerous free for all with no rules.

A couple years ago news reporter Gene Kang caught a fender bender car accident between 2 vehicles at a Los Angeles neighborhood stop sign intersection.

I don't miss that crap at all, been out of the dumpster fire of L.A. and Commiefornya for 10 yrs. now.
You can see Terrible California concrete highway construction with wide bumpy gaps between sections. Other states and countries don’t have this issue with concrete. Something is very wrong with the highway construction process in CA. Concrete, because of heat expansion issues, is not laid continuously like asphalt, but in CA there are often jarring bumps between sections.

Intentionally reading your stupid phone while driving isn't an "accident".
This may be not an option for the majority of people, but whoever can, I suggest you make a long drive at night. It is just so much better, the roads empty, very little to no stress. If you can manage to adjust your sleep cycle to get up some time in the evening, not long before the drive, tiredness should not be an issue. You should have something on the drive, which keeps your head entertained.
That was really stupid and dangerous driving over the barrier like that. Disgraceful driving behaviour.
That's why... Abandon the freeways, be a street ninja and spend the extra few minutes navigating the streets than sitting in the not-so-free-freeway.
