Whoever made this happen no idea about the breed . They may have certain facts surrounding them correct . But so much is wrong . I have been lucky enough to have had 5 of these bless my life so am more of an expert on the breed itself
Alpine Mastiffs only nick named Saint Bernards from St Bernard’s pass was a monk who ran a rescue lodge his name was Saint Bernard and he had Alpine Mastiffs to guard and keep survivors from avalanches and accidents back at the lodge now known as Saint Bernards Pass. God bless 🙏
Did you just said the those of us who owns one of this beautiful dogs don’t know how much they weigh, what colors they have, short or long hair options, they the love cold weather etc etc. come on now!! That is a bit insulting. 😢 in fact there are some points here that are not 100% accurate.
The first big mistake was saying they have a heavy coat. Nope, it is a double coat. Bobby Kennedy had a Newfoundland dog, not a St.B. It would often spend the day patiently waiting outside the members' entrance of the Capitol while he was at work--no dogs allowed in.
Bobby Kennedy owned a large black Newfoundland dog named Brumus. There's a full centerfold liner photo of him in an old Jefferson Airplane album. Volunteers or Crown of Creation. Since no dogs were allowed in the Capitol Bldg, Brumus would often stop outside the members' entrance and patiently wait all day until RFK came out to go home. Nana, in Peter Pan, was often played by a St.B. but in fact the author wrote the role based on his own Newf. Landseer Newfoundlands are easily confused with St.B's. And of course neither breed has a heavy coat, they have a heavy DOUBLE coat. If you brush one out, outdoors, you'll see birds stealing all the undercoat hair to line their nests. I'd give the author a C- for his research skills.
