Leh Livelihood Initiative

Leh Livelihood Initiative was conceived by Tata Trusts in collaboration with NABARD and LAHDC-Leh in 2016. The Initiative is supported by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, NSTFDC, Sustain Plus Energy Foundation and HDFC.
Himmotthan Society, an NGO based in Dehradun is the implementation arm of Tata Trusts for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. The NGO has adopted 50 villages spread across 10 blocks of Leh and Kargil districts for implementation of various programmes and projects, primarily focusing on sustainable livelihoods. In overall, it has reached more than 4,000 tribal families in four clusters of Ladakh viz. Sham valley, Kharu & Rong valley, Changthang and Nubra valley.
