Arizona at the time was a state that never recognized this legal holiday for MLK. And this band sells out stadiums globally! U2 is one of my favorite bands since the 80’s. They are humanitarian’s and give lots of $$$$ to all different charities. The lead singer BONO founded RED . A charity to raise money for HIV/ AIDS . One of the best and biggest bands in the world! Bono is nothing more than a virtue signaling elitist leftist who thinks he is smarter than everybody else (except an even more effete elitist, Jeffrey Sachs) and flies on private jets while telling the rest of us to do without fossil fuel. You need to feel the heat of the stage lights hitting you as the intro switches to the faster beat. It’s magic. It’s unforgettable. It’s where the U2 magic happens.
Boys, my 84 year old mom loved the song "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" by U2. You need to listen to that. Listen to the live version. It's incredible.

had this album (The Joshua Tree) back in the day. outstanding album! one of the few albums i listened to where i loved every song in it. the first four songs in this album are phenomenal!
Me too. In 1987. Love it since then 33 year ago. Bone have one of the most powerful voice in rock. The edge Awesome guitar , Adam great bass and Larry fantastic drum. They our the best.
Yes, I agree. I bought this album when it came out in the summer of 1987 and I like nearly every song on it. That's a rare thing indeed. It is a superb album. Although Achtung Baby runs it very, very close indeed.
U2 - "With or without you" - Check it out. Or like another cat said, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for". All 3 come from their legendary Joshua Tree album And I still think you should react to Stevie's "Living for the city". Peace
@@dloughy Oh, I Wish is a great one. Isn't She Lovely, My Cheri Amore, I Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer, You Are The Sunshine Of My Life...so, so many masterpieces from Stevie. He's been my favorite from the moment I first heard his voice.
John Anthony Yes, he’s an absolutely amazing artist. National treasure! And to your list of U2 songs, I would add “One”. I liked their music but wasn’t a really big fan until I saw them live. Wow!
@@dloughy Just reading the title of their song One gave me goosebumps. An amazing song indeed. And I was blessed enough to see them perform live as well at the Oakland Coliseum in '86 or '87.
This is crazy, but two hours after I posted this I was listening to the local classic rock station, and they did a U2 block. The first song they played was “one”, followed by “with or without you”. 😊
I adore this song. My lovely Dad would play it for me when I was a child. I love how the music builds up...and then it becomes so powerful! It feels like a journey. Just wonderful.
They're kind of like Queen in that people think they don't know then then they start listening and they're like, oh yeah I know that song..oh I know that one too. They probably know way more songs than they think they do.
I was 19 when The Joshua Tree album came out. It blew my mind then, and it still moves me now. I'm just amazed at watching 2 younger guys discovering this song for the first time, and being moved by it as well. This is what is great about good music....it's timeless.
This is the BEST BAND IN THE World! When you hear this live, you know God.... you reach perfection! Thank you guys for the respect and time! I hope you get to see them live one day! It will change your life!! DUBLIN 4evr!!!
A lot more than Dr. King is represented in this song. One man betrayed with a kiss represents Jesus who was betrayed by Judah. One man washed on an empty Beach represents soldiers who were facing battle coming from boats who never made it ashore alive. "One man caught on a barbed wire fence" represents the men who did make it ashore yet did not complete the mission as they were killed while caught up in Traps aligning those Beaches. Also could interpret slaves who tried to escape and never got away. His continuous chorus is questioning God, asking him why it keeps happening. "One more in the name of Love. "What??? More in the name of Love." Again refer to the word "Love" as God.
This song is incredible live - it gets an entire stadium full of people jumping up & down in unison. You have to watch them live, they work really hard to make each concert the best it can be. The stage sets for the ‘Achtung Baby’ and ‘Pop’ tours are legendary. So many fantastic songs from them over the years.
You guys might have a lot of fun doing the B-52's Love Shack. I would love to see it. Any INXS as well. You guys are a breath of fresh air. Love your channel.
I cannot believe no one has suggested U2’s “With or Without You” yet! Epic. But you really can’t go wrong with all of the other U2 suggestions, either. ☘️
Christine W. I’m a U2 fan and it’s my favorite song of theirs and that’s saying a lot. Being overplayed doesn’t make a song bad, it just makes it popular and in this case it’s for a very good reason.
Yes that is what I was totally thinking while watching them. The video is the best! I bet there would have been a bigger reaction from them both I'm sure.
I still remember my own first reaction to this song. I was getting dressed for school, my senior year of high school in March of 1987. I was immediately entranced. I was already a U2 fan at the time, and they were still considered an alternative band, not usually played on Top 40 radio. As it faded out all I could think was "Holy crap, this is gonna be HUGE.". That album changed the face of music forever. It's cool watching a whole new generation hear it for the first time. Mad respect, gentlemen.
I always found mlk to give goosebumps too (And obvs pride...) But that guitar and the singing on Sunday Bloody Sunday - wowsers. Even after all these years!
To wonderful selections. I think that it's so hard to choose just song for this group! For the past few days, I have been humming one of their oldies called 40.
Double vote right there - "Angel of Harlem" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday". They are epic and beautiful and, like all things epic and beautiful, they are standing the test of time. Get into them!
It blows my mind when people say they have never heard of U2. They are up there with all the greats, at one stage were the biggest selling band in the world and had the biggest selling concert in history.
Tears For Fears: "Everybody Wants to Rule The World", "Shout", "Head Over Heels"............Depeche Mode: "Enjoy The Silence", "People Are People", "Never Let Me Down Again", "World In My Eyes", "Policy of Truth",
Told you so! Yeah. Now you need to do "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For." (below) Their songs about Martin Luther King are amazing, PRIDE and MLK. U2 were arguably the biggest band in the world in the 1980s. Their concerts of 25,000 people would sell out in 20 minutes. They were phenomenal. Even today, their concerts are hotly sought-after. They have an incredible range of hits to explore -- they're as impactful as Queen, sometimes. Angel of Harlem is also amazing -- it's about Ella Fitzgerald, who you have listened to before. They have a huge love of American soul and R&B, and became fascinated with the civil rights movement too. th-cam.com/video/e3-5YC_oHjE/w-d-xo.html And this is the video for Where the Streets Have No Name, when they did a guerilla takeover of a roof to shoot their video and caused chaos, in the middle of the biggest, fastest-selling concert world tour in years. It's awesome: th-cam.com/video/GzZWSrr5wFI/w-d-xo.html
I have seen them 7 times live. One thing about them, they keep concert ticket prices affordable so all their fans can see them,-not just the wealthy ones. Last time I saw them was Montreal and it was postponed. The venue was to be torn Dow; after their concert so they paid to keep the venue around until the rescheduled dates, some 10 months later.
Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking - U2 did a version with New Voices of Freedom. The video is from a documentary they did. Big time goosebumps for real! Keep up the great work guys. Changing lives!
This album, “Joshua Tree” won a Grammy for best album of the year in the late 80’s. Really a good album. It has stood the test of time. You guys have a great show! Thanks!
I'm astonished that you have never heard of U2....they have influenced a lot of today's artists. I'm so glad you are experiencing them now. They are timeless.
Hello Jennifer Brown!! You should just be happy that they finally have come across them!!! You know they were b4 there time!! Instead of being astonished that they never heard of them b4; you ever heard of the phrase "better late than never??"
Let's remember - there's really no FM radio and no MTV anymore. Both were U2 heavy at least 20 years before these guys were born. Sirius isn't likely to play U2 on every channel.. I love that people are suggesting and they are trying out music they actually have never heard before. You can tell how great it is by how many copycat "reaction videos" are popping up with younger adults (and teens) discovering Classic Rock and Singer Songwriters of the 90s and before. I love it!!!
It's called cultural heritage. They'll literally be country singers and irish folk singers who will have sold millions of records. Who will have heard of them if they are not part of 'your' mainstream or culture.
One Tree Hill - the sound swirls in your headphones like no other album Also check their live video concert of “Shake, Rattle and Hum” - glorious homage to arc of jazz, rock music
U2 is one of the most important band of the 80's. They are still active and their shows still sellout in minutes on the web. Some of their other biggest success during that decade: Sunday bloody sunday New years day Bad One With or without you Still haven't found what i'm looking for
Try these: “Desire” “When Love Comes to Town” (with BB King) “Pride(in the name of love) - A tribute MLK “Bad” or “All I Want is You” - live versions.....Their Super Bowl halftime is considered one of, if not the best, performance. 🤘🏼 More U2, please 🔥🎶🔥🎶🔥 I was lucky enough to see them in 1994 & it was the best concert after (Pink Floyd) that I ever went to! ❤️
Bad live at the 1985 Live Aid concert where Bono rescued a woman from being trampled from the audience and the band extended the song, where the rest of the lyrics were improvised, thus they were out of time for the other two songs they planned. Epic performance.
Love U2 favorite band of all time! Only band I’ve seen 3 times in concert (not a fan of big crowds) Zooropa in Seattle, Vertigo in UK, and most recently anniversary of Joshua Tree in Seattle all amazing
U2: "The Joshua Tree" was a landmark album when it debuted. To this day, it's one of my top 50 albums of all time. Listen to the rest of the album. You won't regret it, my friends. Peace.
It is one of the perfect albums. Although it is great how we can have instant music and pull up what we want there is something to be mourned in losing albums. Each sing played you wanted to hear again but the next sing was so anticipated that you ended up always listening to the entire album.
Still has one of the greatest opening to a song I've ever heard. Listen to "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" after this. Absolute masterpiece. Awesome job, y'all!
The live version on the FILM Rattle and Hum is stunning. When the band kick it up a gear at the intro, stage lights completely bathe the stadium in intense white light (and the film goes into colour from black and white). In subsequent gigs, it is THAT moment that the crowd are anticipating.

Watch their amazing concert film The Joshua Tree...U2 was HUGE, THE BAND in the 80's/90's, awesome live. Listen next to "It's A Beautiful Day" by them.
I love watching people discover music - even more so when it's music I grew up with. This one, in particular, took me back to every U2 concert I saw. *happy sigh*
58 for me ... Enjoy these classic especially when they get off into early U2... that's some great time in my twenties Atlanta GA front stage in these concerts
"Never heard of U2 in my life"....how is it possible? I can't live without them in my life. I've seen them live a lot of time and that song, each time they play it live, it's just a communion between all the fans who are at the concert. You're lifted by it.
Honestly have loved U2 since the beginning - watch the video of Where the Streets Have No Names - filmed here in Los Angeles - turned into a free concert. I have gone to 7 U2 concerts and seeing them live is amazing. Bono voice can fill Dodger Stadium. Listen to BAD, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Beautiful Day - they are socially aware - LOVE
They shut several streets down, by singing from the rooftop.. that was EPIC!! Definitely watch that vid guys!! th-cam.com/video/GzZWSrr5wFI/w-d-xo.html
For me it was New Years Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, With or Without You, and Where the Streets have No Name. Starting U2 With One and Mysterious Ways is like introducing the Beatles with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Funny thing the cops and crowd were real. The local radio station broadcasted that u2 would be filming a video and the cops werent faking telling them to vacate from the rooftop while filming the video. 1000's of fans showed up and its shown in the video.
Army veteran 72 My husband was there, and it’s documented in a book about MTV. LAPD cut power but U2 had a spare generator and kept going. Watch it guys!
@@MrShackleforth So good they couldn't even give them away for free on itunes. I paid £16 for Achtung Baby on 1991.... Their high water mark.... I wouldn't even open the curtains if they were playing anything post 2002 in my back garden. each to their own.
When you have time, watch their Rattle and Hum rockumentary, about their Joshua Tree tour. Their live version of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is amazing.
The thing with "Bad" is that it's way too long and out there for today's kids. Their attention span is short. One of the twins just told you the organ intro to 'Streets Have No Name' took a long time. We nearly lost him.
Irish rock band, started off initially singing about the troubles in Ireland (bombings/the IRA)...... became legends!!! U2 and Mary J Blige collaboration One is a winner 🥇 xx
Bono has one of those voices with range and emotion. Edge’s chorded riffs and rhythm back-up along with Bono’s voice are what make this band unique. Larry Mullen is a way underrated drummer.

The Joshua Tree is one of the best albums ever made. Also, listen to U2’s “Pride (In The Name of Love)”...always a show stopper at their concerts.
Also my suggestion as well - it has references to Jesus, Jonah, and MLK, Jr. - Bono is an incredible lyricist and vocalist with amazing faith.

Most kids won't try to listen to anything new. My kid waa raised on rock n roll. Love this!
"One." One of the best songs of all time, both rhythmically and lyrically.

The Joshua Tree as a whole could be a great listening experience. But after hearing this I’d like to see your reaction to their song Bullet The Blue Sky or Exit - both also on Joshua Tree.
Absouluty
had this album (The Joshua Tree) back in the day. outstanding album! one of the few albums i listened to where i loved every song in it. the first four songs in this album are phenomenal!
No album they did afterwards matched Joshua Tree.
Me too. In 1987. Love it since then 33 year ago. Bone have one of the most powerful voice in rock. The edge Awesome guitar , Adam great bass and Larry fantastic drum. They our the best.
Barry Obama Achtung was great but hearing this song played in a stadium was pretty unreal.
Yes, I agree. I bought this album when it came out in the summer of 1987 and I like nearly every song on it. That's a rare thing indeed. It is a superb album. Although Achtung Baby runs it very, very close indeed.
Joshua Tree is an amazing album, and I’m not even a U2 fan.
"Never heard of U2 in my life." Wow, way to make me feel old.
Imagine being Irish and meeting someone who has never heard of U2. Mind is blown.
Yep... Gosh... Never heard of U2... Different world/time to mine

U2 - "With or without you" - Check it out. Or like another cat said, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for". All 3 come from their legendary Joshua Tree album
And I still think you should react to Stevie's "Living for the city". Peace
Yes, "Living in the City"...or "I Wish". Heard it yesterday, had forgotten how great it is.
Never heard of U2!? I almost passed out!
They're kind of like Queen in that people think they don't know then then they start listening and they're like, oh yeah I know that song..oh I know that one too. They probably know way more songs than they think they do.
Whaaaaattttttt?????,
Whaaaaaaatttt?

I was 19 when The Joshua Tree album came out. It blew my mind then, and it still moves me now. I'm just amazed at watching 2 younger guys discovering this song for the first time, and being moved by it as well. This is what is great about good music....it's timeless.
This is the BEST BAND IN THE World! When you hear this live, you know God.... you reach perfection! Thank you guys for the respect and time! I hope you get to see them live one day! It will change your life!! DUBLIN 4evr!!!
I always say seeing U2 live is like going to church!
Their live shows are amazing! I’m seeing them at The Sphere is Vegas in 2 weeks! Cannot wait!!
Singers really had good voices in those days, their voice WAS their musical instrument. Thanks boys for taking us back in time. Love from Europe.
This is not an easy song to sing - particularly in the register that he's able to maintain throughout.
For alot of people who were teenagers in the 80's, U2 is a PREMO band. BANGER. Try 'Pride' which is about MLK.
Yes! Pride (In the Name of Love)... 🐐

I cannot believe no one has suggested U2’s “With or Without You” yet! Epic. But you really can’t go wrong with all of the other U2 suggestions, either. ☘️
I’m a huge U2 fan but that my least favourite song. Overplayed. Bad or city of blinding lights.
Christine W. I’m a U2 fan and it’s my favorite song of theirs and that’s saying a lot. Being overplayed doesn’t make a song bad, it just makes it popular and in this case it’s for a very good reason.
@@melanie7071 my favourite as well

U2- "With or Without You" , "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" & "Beautiful Day"
Should’ve watched the video of them playing on the rooftop in LA. That was EPIC!!

I love that video
Yes that is what I was totally thinking while watching them. The video is the best! I bet there would have been a bigger reaction from them both I'm sure.
That's what I was gonna say
I was there in LA when they shot tha video. Had to play hooky from High School!
@@evareyesnkings that's awesome. I would have played hooky right along with you if I could have 🙂
I still remember my own first reaction to this song.
US is great. You should try their song "Pride (In The Name of Love)" about Martin Luther King Jr.
That song is my favorite from U2. Gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I hear it.
Make sure to watch the actual music video too. They sang it on the roof of a building in Los Angeles.
Yes! Definitely listen to that!
Definitely check this one out!
Pick any song from the Joshua Tree album, you will still be amazed. Note: this band can sell out a stadium tomorrow if they wanted to. 🎟📀🎸🎵❤
"Church pianos!" You guys are adorable.

Best era for U2 - lyrics to “Angel of Harlem” are phenomenal. And “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, since it’s about a real event. Goosebumps!
About Billie Holiday. RIP Billie ❤️

Yes, that 4 votes for Mary J Blige duet with U2 singing "One". Its mad.
Best song EVER!!
It blows my mind when people say they have never heard of U2. They are up there with all the greats, at one stage were the biggest selling band in the world and had the biggest selling concert in history.
Tears For Fears: "Everybody Wants to Rule The World", "Shout", "Head Over Heels"............Depeche Mode: "Enjoy The Silence", "People Are People", "Never Let Me Down Again", "World In My Eyes", "Policy of Truth",
Facts, all of these!
Also, anything by Howard Jones.
Love this video and this song! U2 were huge in the 80's. They are Irish.
Good choice for a first U2 song.
hmm, No wonder I love them.
They’re still the biggest band in the world
still
huge
They have a huge love of American soul and R&B, and became fascinated with the civil rights movement too.
th-cam.com/video/e3-5YC_oHjE/w-d-xo.html
And this is the video for Where the Streets Have No Name, when they did a guerilla takeover of a roof to shoot their video and caused chaos, in the middle of the biggest, fastest-selling concert world tour in years.

I love that people are suggesting and they are trying out music they actually have never heard before.
You can tell how great it is by how many copycat "reaction videos" are popping up with younger adults (and teens) discovering Classic Rock and Singer Songwriters of the 90s and before.

Bad live at the 1985 Live Aid concert where Bono rescued a woman from being trampled from the audience and the band extended the song, where the rest of the lyrics were improvised, thus they were out of time for the other two songs they planned. Epic performance.

Richard Wild Yep. 😀
This is a song for a stadium. It starts off fairly dark but they bring on the floodlights fairly early on and the crowd goes wild.

This is all-time concert favorite. The crowd goes wild during the buildup because they know what’s coming.
The live version on the FILM Rattle and Hum is stunning. When the band kick it up a gear at the intro, stage lights completely bathe the stadium in intense white light (and the film goes into colour from black and white). In subsequent gigs, it is THAT moment that the crowd are anticipating.
