    This is THEE BEST GF and DF pie crust out there. Hands down. I have made this twice now for my family, blueberry and apple pie, and both were beyond exceptional. Something you would pay $25+ at a boutique bakery or something. I’m sad I slept on this recipe through the holidays, but idc imma make pies year round anyway. Thank you so so much for this! 🙏🏻❤️

    Well, I did it. The one thing I noticed while rolling out the dough and putting it in the pie pan was how it wanted to fall apart. But I pressed on and got it in the pie plate and so far so good. It smells delicious baking. I made it into an apple pie with a lattice top, which was also a challenge as gluten free flour lacks the elasticity of wheat flour. So its a little chaotic on top! I'm hoping the flavor will make all such imperfections null and void. If it tastes half as good as it smells baking it will be a hit! Thanks Kaitlyn. Next challenge is a pecan pie!

    Mine came out a crumbly (even with weighing the flour) and it was hard to roll out but I added more water and that saved it, it was just a bit overworked at that point lol it’s delicious just a little gummy, I can’t wait to try again because it definitely has potential. I think my error was basically having to mix it twice since I had to add more water after I already rested it. My pie pans are on the small/shallow side so I actually got 2 crusts out of it, so 2 pumpkin pies 😻

    This is a fantastic recipe Kaitlyn thank you for sharing !!! My only note is that it is not workable enough for lattice work on pies. The dough just isn't stable enough & will break into pieces before you can work with it as soon as it starts to warm up. I tried freezing it but it has to be REALLY cold or it will just snap off when you bend it in the least little way. BUT ! If you get the little leaf accent cutters it makes a fantastic crust ! Don't forget that silicone ring to protect it from the heat. That is REALLY important ! :)

    First time watching. Excellent video! Well made and pleasant to watch. I’ve spent the last hour fast forwarding cooking videos because they drag on and on and the hosts keep repeating themselves. I’ll be making this crust for quiche to start and I appreciate the extra tips like the stainless rolling pin, pie weights, wiping the egg wash from the dish and the adjustable silicone crust protector. Thank you! I’m subscribed👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    Hi! Quick question, if I want to make an apple pie with a lattice top or just a full top, would I be able to just fill and bake altogether after rolling dough and transferring to my tin?

  • @darkstormy1545
    @darkstormy1545 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1st off this crust is awesome, better than any store bought, and better than most homemades! 2nd, It is possible to cut this recipe in half if you don't need a top. it just take a little more patients with rolling out, and works well for a shallow 8" pie pan.

    • @KAITLYNTAYLOROFFICIAL
      @KAITLYNTAYLOROFFICIAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beautiful!! I’m so glad you loved it!! Yes, the reason this crust has a good amount of dough is because some people use a 10 inch pie pan and when I have done that I didn’t have any extra! It’s also great for making a lattice! Or you can freeze your extra dough in a ziplock bag and use it for Christmas or your next holiday! You can store it in the freezer for months. Just thaw it out a few hours at room temp before using!! 🤗❤️ thank you so much for leaving a comment!

  • @erajkhan6601

    This pie crust looks amazing. I can't wait to try. Thank you for this recipe. Just a quick question; how can I create a lattice top if I'm using this crust for an apple pie?

    • @KAITLYNTAYLOROFFICIAL
      @KAITLYNTAYLOROFFICIAL  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much!! I can't wait for you to try it either! You can create a lattice top with this recipe. If you are using a small pie dish like an 8", you will have enough dough left over to create a lattice. If you are using a 10" pie dish you may want to double the recipe.
      I like to suggest doubling the recipe, that way if you have extras you can save it in a plastic bag in the freezer and you can have ready made pie dough for your next holiday pie! Making in advance saves a lot of time! :) Hope this helps!! And enjoy your yummy apple pie! Let me know if you have any more questions or need any help!

    Hi Kaitlyn
    I’ve just made the dough and added too much water. I wrapped it and put it in the freezer. I don’t have time to start again. What can I do to save it. It was sticky. I added 3 tablespoons like your video, however I think 2 may have been sufficient!
