Video still very useful - had ordered the parts from 1AAuto several months ago and just did the job tonight - under two hours for a DIY guy - not bad! Thanks so much! Dave in RI
Andy, thank you for uploading this video. I was able to replace my struts because of how you teach. I also bought the parts from 1A Auto. You are the man!! Thank you!!!
Just installed my 2nd set of 1A Autos struts. I keep telling folks about your channel and your parts. The fact my friend spoke with a live human was priceless since her dad paid for them so that was SO reassuring!! Add the warranty and I was blown away. Thanks guys!!💪😎👍
WARNING: MAKE SURE the CV axle does NOT get pulled apart from the inner cup!!!!!!!!! Greatest risk when you let the hub/rotor fall outwards after seperating the shock at the 2 x 22mm bolts!!!
Thanks for the video. Getting my mojo up to DIY new struts and sway bars. I was wondering why you didn't put those main strut bolt to a wire wheel or wire brush. They were so dirty and rusty white makes for less tightness after torque. At least hit them with some grease, eh? I may be wrong but I think you missed one. All the same I enjoyed the video and thanks for including the torque specs. Cheers.
Other than the direction that the bottom 22mm bolt holes are facing, do the top 3 bolts have a specific orientation? Or do the bolts form an equilateral triangle that can be rotated any which way? Thank you!
The vice grips can damage the rubber boot. If badly rusted the hex probably won't work so have to use vice grips and replace the damaged part. Best to have one and return is you don't have to use it.
I have heard that these complete strut assemblies have inferior shocks in them and that the springs may not be the correct rate for the car. Is there any truth to this?

You guys always have the best videos, super helpful with great camera angles! Thank you tons!
Great video. The step by step instructions are going to help greatly to do it right and safe.
Appreciate the video. Good editing that keys in on the steps needed to do the job.
Thanks for this video. I installed my 1A parts in a couple of hours.

+Rfcdgaf This is a great tip!
greatest risk of what?
Alignment needed afterwards?

Be sure to jack up both sides of the car before starting or the sway bar link will have tension on it.
When reassembling the nuts/bolts, should I use never seize or loctite?
Also wondering this
After change front strut do I need wheel alignment? Thank you!
Im wondering the same, did you an alignment after?
+Michael Ly Yes, an alignment would need to be done after the installation.
At 1:18, he suggested using the hex key if not replacing the sway bar link. Is the air wrench that destructive?
The impact wrench was not the issue, he was pointing to gripping the linkage with the pliers which would cause marring or other damage.
The vice grips can damage the rubber boot. If badly rusted the hex probably won't work so have to use vice grips and replace the damaged part. Best to have one and return is you don't have to use it.
Whats the warranty on these struts? If one were to need replacing does 1A cover the return shipping?
perfect video
Do you guy shipping to Canada
Do you need to do an alignment after?

You guys have the rear spring
Top notch
+Nick Cormier Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I watched your video. I didn't torque anything. Now I hear a noise on the driver side wheel when I turn left. I think I over tightened.
How to replace altenna belt
I did mines but after I changed them the abs light came on for some reason
What's my risk of death if I dont have a torque wrench to tighten to spec?
I have heard that these complete strut assemblies have inferior shocks in them and that the springs may not be the correct rate for the car. Is there any truth to this?
+fw1421 All the parts we carry are made to factory spec in terms of valving and spring rates. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
What brands? I got my KYB Strut-plus from RockAuto.com and it does say the coil springs will need time to settle.
You said 55 ft/lbs for the sway bar link, but in your next video, you said 64 ft/lbs for the same.
Channel locks were put on backwords....
removing the sway bar link definitely didn’t go the way that he did it made matters 20x worse
