Green jade offspring usually have a bunch of blues, but the seller shouldn’t had mix those in calling it green jade imo

Beautiful shrimp, mate! I wish we had a strain that was green like that and straight- in the States... all our greens are about 50% true at very best.

i have a few AQUAEL heaters, very accurate and no failures, after seeing your new AQUAEL tanks and accessories i might be tempted to branch into their tanks, i'd like to see an Amano shrimp setup.
I love all the Aquael products i have, Heaters, pumps and one light. Thank you for recommending these products to me Mark, i never had an issue with them, they are affordable, build quality is amazing and they work perfectly, especially with a few special Mark Modification :)
I'm from Poland and Aquael is a polish brand so i have lots of their products as they are cheaper here. Their customer service is very nice and their products never failed me. I love pat mini filters.

Had an aquael nano 10l for my first shrimp set. Awesome set for starters. The pat mini is super as you have used it but the filter on its own I didn't like. Tank was superb though. Light was excellent. Is your shrimp room heated? As it didn't have a heater in your tank.

As always, great simple setups. Green jades are a shrimp I want to keep. I keep fish but find myself drawn more and more to keeping shrimp only. I just added three Black crystal shrimp to my 10 gallon rasbora tank. They look like little cows grazing :D.
I guess the blue colour is settled, and they are showing a beautiful green.

Regarding the shrimp wish you would get the refund back or name and Shame but I know you are best of person wouldn’t do that.
a few have died but the ones that have lived are nice green so we shall see, today and yesterday they were actively eating so thats good :)

Hope you could give us an update later on whether the shrimps are actually Jade Green or Blue. I'd be pretty peeved if it was intentional on the seller's part for putting up culls for sale.

Several are certainly blues but they’re still gorgeous and I bet fun to watch.
Jade green is a tricky shrimp to get looking right.
They take weeks to get that picture perfect color after they are introduced to a new tank.
Black sand they blend, white sand they contrast so hard they look black.
I'm still trying to figure out what's best myself
I know one of my jades is blue but it’s very different from dreams or velvets
I have one blue boy in my green jade… and a lot of differnt green colors, at the moment i try to select darf greens into an other tank… love them, because they are not so „ready made“ like bloody mary oder blue dream

they actually turned out ok in the end, seller didnt use a heatpack is why they looked so bad IMO
@@MarksShrimpTanks THey are hard to source where I am. (east coast us) and we usually see lighter ones that almost look like wild type too. Glad it all worked out. I've been trying for 4 yrs Ito have a successful colony of neos. Was going to mix tap and RO and now it's got to be just RO and just lost another berried Female--will have to live vicariously thru all you shrimp keepers for now.) Thanks for all the videos.

I bought 5 of these Green Jade (2 months ago, 9th Jan 2024) at a local PetStore, when i got them they were so small you could easily mistake them for Amano shrimp. Roughly about 4 weeks later (5th Feb 2024) they turned Yellow. It's like i got Lemon shrimp instead. It's now the 13th March 2024 and they are still Yellow with a little green on the sides. Guess the PetStore has a supplier with bad strains.
I use a syringe to start the siphon on airline tubing.
oh now that is a good idea, I have a few large syringes
Mark, my experience for green jade , yes you must cull the blue shrimp because some baby greed jade will going to blue .

Green jade look cool. I finally got my cherry shrimp going well and they’re breeding like crazy. I had 2 damselfly nymphs that were killing stuff, but I think they’re all gone now. Thinking about another tank for blue dreams but the green jade look great too, sorry you didn’t get a better quality. Hopefully they’ll color up. Do these seem to have bigger pincers as well and use them more??

I ’m a shrimp farmer in Taiwan. I ’m using a water grass tank to grow my shrimp, but it will die slowly day by day.

How long will you leave carbon in the tank?
Just a couple of weeks, I think in the long term it can have a negative impact on stuff like biofilm and plants.
my "green jade" shrimpo are much more of a pal light green, females have a yellow line down the back

no I wouldnt add it for no reason, like it will eventually starve your plants if you leave it in.. right now I only use it for medication and emergencies.

The lighting you demonstrate here.. is it a Sunny or a Plant because there are two, i have a 30cm cube tank with Guppies and real plants, can you advise me what one i will need please? Many thanks Mark :)

I'm baffled about the stocking with carbon? You set it behind the filter. Does that really work??
Yeah it works, carbon is used in a lot of filtration, also if you are sick because you have ingested poison, you get a activated charcoal drink at the hospital..I also normally use it to remove medication
so i have a mini sponge filter that i want to start using on a vase type tank for shrimp, How long would i have to run the sponge filter on an established tank before i can consider that sponge aged for a quick start?
p.s. i will use water from my cycled tank and new substrate for planted tanks / plants will also be from the same cycled and aged tank.
6 plus weeks I think is a good starting point

Do you happen to know of anything in the US similar to the pat mini? I was dumb and purchased one without realizing the voltage difference so it's completely useless to me unless I get 110 to 220 converter.. I just have the double sponge with an airline and I feel kind of like it doesn't push enough.

I think the seller should visit an opticians, i have seen some of your culls that are truer to colour than those so called greens, i think i would be looking for a rebate on at least half of them. If not, mention the sellers name so that others can be aware of him/her and expect, black, brown, turquoise, blues mixed in like you unfortunately got. Thanks for sharing and hopefully they will colour up.
Hello Derek, turns out the shrimp were all green in the end and they look good enough.. the reason they were so bad looking is the seller forgot to add in a heatpack and I live in Norway. To be honest I am shocked I got them alive.

Are you using tap water? And either being planted or not should make much of a difference. Do you does your water with any supplements

too much nutrients and light give you algae blooms, my tank lights are only on for 6 hours a day each rack but I have three of them and they all come on and go off 1 hour apart so it would be like the sun rising and falling.

I have never done it but I think you can do it eventually if you have yellow and blue neocaridina through selective breeding.

Some of those shrimps They looks like Someone's calls. I hate this stuff that's why I dont buy any shrimps from private breeders anymorei. They take the opportunity to calls into their tanks when they pick up the shrimps to sell. Here in france it's the same story. They show you their best adults shrimps or whatever and they tell you that they don't choose. They just catch whatever shrimp and put it in the bag. I recently bought some yellow neon to refresh my strain. And I received translucent shrimp ..

Update since my comment above, I have had a few generations and I would say 10% remain, rest are culls.
I have yellow blood like Green Jades.
I purchased some more males and a few females ("Green Jades") from another hobbyist here in Aus. Out of 10 i recieved, 6 definitely have a blue hue to them. I know that Blue Velvets throw off green jades. I hope that I am not victim to a cull purchase. It seems the blood line is quite poor.
Is there any way you could say where you got these? I think as a shrimp keeper you would want to tell people who provided these poor quality shrimp.

@@MarksShrimpTanks I'm a Geordie and worked in Aberdeen for years and also in Ayrshire, My best friend here in spain is Scottish, we both have been here for over 30 years and both still with home town accents. Over the years I have noticed the only time a scotsman or geordie lose their accent is when singing an english song. Are you from Glasgow? I'm losing it now but i used to be able to tell where more or less in Scotland people are from, I think from the Broch is the hardest to understand for all its English-speaking like Geordie.
